I was hoping to find a method like this. I tried just spraying my shredded pipe tobacco with alcohol (limoncello). I barely noticed anything. It did help soften the tobacco for the press though. (I made your press btw works great). Waiting a whole month and just letting evaporation seems better to me and less product would have to be used. I’d like to try butter rum. I’m also interested in stoving using an oven. I’m also interested in buying a meat slicer to slice flake. I’m also interested in using Latakia. I really just want a sweet Virginia flake with some notes of grass and lemon citrus. I don’t want to pay $100+CAD for a 50g tin. It’s ridiculous. Making it yourself works out to be pennies! $5-$10 a tin. If I can figure this out and make a tasty sweet Virginia flake for cheap I’ll be a happy camper for the rest of my life. Appreciate your videos thanks 🙏:)

I have your solution. Candy making flavor oils. LorAnn makes the best concentrated high temp oils and you can find them all over the internet including their own website. I use their natural peppermint oil. You can get natural lemon as well. I prefer to put a pin drop on the filter because that is the best way to get most concentrated flavor while using the least product. I also keep a travel size spray bottle with several drops of oil filled up with water that I shake and spray on my tobacco when it dries out. They carry every flavor imaginable including butter rum but those aren't natural so I can't say whether smoking it is a smart idea. Placing it in the filter would be safest because the smoke is passing through it instead of burning it. These are intensely concentrated to withstand lava temps used in making hard candies because anything less literally cooks out and you can add a whole bottle of other types of flavorings and taste nothing. That said, one pin drop will absolutely give you all the flavor you need, but I've found out the hard way what adding more does.
I've extensively researched the safety of inhaling peppermint essential oil and found it to be used medicinally for many ailments, so I know that it's safe.
However I do not know what inhaling citrus oils will do so I'd research that before adding that to your smoking habits. Good luck!

Do you know how i would get my rolling tobacco to taste sweet? Any ideas greatly received. I miss the additives- believe it or not! Most of it is so tasteless these days.

I do it the same way as you. Try some Drambui, I have received great results with that

@@jackprescott203 I use a commercial tobacco blend that I enjoy smoking regularly and add a little alcohol to give it a little something extra

What about infusing your alcohol with the spices individually for a month or two then using the tincture to saturate a portable hemidor?

infusing the alcohol separately for a longer time definitely works better in transfering the flavours (infusing too long however will extract unwanted flavors, needs testing). Then its only a matter of preference how you introduce it to the tobacco. Spray on top before pressing, use as humidifying agent in a humidor (in combination with water, but if using lower than 100 proof doesnt need extra steps). Soak the tobacco in the tincture too, although needs more processing to then adjust the moisture before being able to press, cut or roll the tobacco. I've had some experience making alcohol based tinctures and using them to transfer flavors into other stuff, but not with tobacco, but I do know that alcohol is a very good solvent so it will work on anything organic. (Also thats how hash is made from scrap weed, but dont tell anyone I know that)

He has the lid that comes with the bowl in the video in the back ground. It's a plastic lid that comes with the glass container

Probably with the lid that's next to the bowl. 😂
