- Last year I was able to hit my goal of using every pan of eye shadow in my collection! In 2024 I want to add to that challenge and also do a Project 10 Uses on the makeup categories that are getting neglected due to my focus on my panning.
I will using a random wheel to pick out my 10 Uses products and my eye shadow palettes to focus on for the month.

Yes! Those big categories!! I watched your usage/blush project and was like…wait…I’m doing one too but it’s not up yet!!! 😂 A lot of my palettes have more shimmers than mattes, so I am using mattes from other palettes and mixing and matching and it has been so much fun!!

Aw, thank you!!! I love to be organized. It makes my brain less fuzzy. 😂 Canva has been amazing for tracking and graphics! I only got the paid version for my thumbnails otherwise everything else can be done on the free version!
I am so looking forward to this project. I am not a fan of panning eyeshadows. I am going to try to “no pan left behind” all of my palettes too. I love the panning journal you set up. I am just focusing on a couple of palettes at a time. I just stick a post-it on the palette and draw it out to check off when I have used a color. I am adding an “x” to the date sticker I have on the palette to show that I tried all the shades. Love your voice, by the way. I find your videos so relaxing. 💜
🫣 I never enjoy listening to myself talk, but I’m happy that it is relaxing to you!! I’m not good at panning eye shadow either, and would rather enjoy my whole collection instead. NPLB is a really cool way to know what you still love in your collection!!! I’ve seen a few people do the post-it note method. I say, whatever works for you, do it! The post-its hanging off the palettes would drive my little ocd-tendencies heart crazy! 😂

I love that you are changing it up and doing a project 10 uses. I am too scared to randomise my picks. Maybe I do for a second round of my eyeshadow project but for now I picked my shades myself. Just so it works for every day. Last year I focused so much on certain products that I really neglected others so I changed my project pan for some items and put usage goals on them or hit pan whichever happens first. So I can get to more products.
I’m so happy that you learned from panning last year and didn’t give up, but rather found a way that works better for you and your collection of items!!! That is awesome and kind of how I feel with doing this 10 Uses project. I think I’m at the point that I love/like most of my items, so I’m not worried about randomization. And I do allow myself to reach of a more neutral palette if all I have left is colors and I need to have something tame for work. 😉 Thank you as always for being so kind and supportive!!! ❤️
@@erintaylorwrites yes I think l learned a lot last year. I bought a lot of Colourpop palettes and they are all beautiful however I don’t like wearing glitters or shimmers on an everyday basis. So they sort of were a waste. I think for the future things like the Fenty sun stalkr palette or the master mattes by Mario would be the better investment as it actually is something I would wear everyday. I am new to your channel and I must say you are a breath of fresh air. The YT beauty space is so saturated with channels and there are not enough that focus on using what you have. I hope to mainly focus on using my stash and bringing in very little this year. I have a small collection but still more than enough products to keep me interested and away from shopping. I appreciate the inspiration and fresh perspective that you bring and look forward to future content. 😄

@@erintaylorwrites Eyeshadow is my biggest problem but I have reigned it in I think, I have more eyeshadow than other products. Most other categories I just have a couple items and use them all the time which is what I prefer but am liking blush more and more lately. 😬 But eyeshadow for sure, I have a smaller amount than many but it's still more than I need and I tend to prefer singles over palettes, so just want to focus on using what I have and either not bring any more in or keep it very minimal. We will see what I do, thank you for your very kind repsonse! 😄😄
@@taramisu9978Blushes are my weakness also (apart from eyeshadow). I LOVE blush. But I did a blush swatch party the other night to remind myself that I have pinks in every tone. 😂

@@erintaylorwrites Yes..no kidding. They are nice and palettes are a draw but I use singles more, I have a small handful of palettes that I really enjoy and that is enough for me. And yes to the blush statement too, sometimes many of them look the same. 😁

@@teacherlovesbeauty Think of all the cool elements you can put onto graphics, but it’s available for video. They only support 1gb files, and my raw footage is sometimes 25 gigs. The upload speeds depend on your internet, and we are in the country, so ours sucks and it took hours to upload a gig at a time. It’s great for adding cool things to short form videos though!!
Hi. Erin, how do you keep track of your eye pencils and lippies in project 10 uses? Do you talley on your computer? Please advise.
I have them in a small note book. I do not do any tallies on my computer since that process has not worked out for me in the past. When I have my update in Feb, I will show the notebook I am using for the project 10 uses ☺️
If I was to do one or both of these projects is there someone I should be giving credit to in terms of the creator of these projects?
I'm not sure...when I have seen other creators doing them, I have not seen an original creator. I can look around and double check through!!
Some older videos have the project 10 uses created by Phoebe HB @Phoebe HB but Phoebe no longer has any content on her channel for me to verify this...
It seems like over the past few years, it has become its own project that many creators do. I was only able to find one creator that mentions Phoebe.

Great way to use your collection, my no buy is easy, with the exception of eyeshadow. The fomo is real😂 but I'm holding on. I'll just have to really be creative with my collection and enjoy all the beautiful things I have.
Here comes the pep talk! Girl, trust me, there is no palettes coming out right now that you don’t already have those colors and formulas. If you do want the new fancy formula, then the other palettes got to go! You have such a wonderful opportunity to shop your collection.
