The skyway crash is referring to a accident where at Disney were they had a crash on their monorail called the skyway in 1999 where a custodian was killed and several were injured, the ride closed 5 days later as of a result, i have no clue where i remember that from…
You sadly are right about the custodian at the Skyway in Disney World Florida. Just as a clarification about the name, though, the Monorail has never been called the Skyway. The Skyway took riders in gondola-type buckets, kind of like a ski lift. The Monorail is a large "train" that glides above one large concrete rail (thus the name mono rail).

I would just like to clarify on the Schlitterbahn accident, a common misconception is that Caleb was decapitated, but what had actually occured was when the pool float caught wind and collided with the safety next ring at the top of the peak of the slides decent, his neck was broken on impact killing him instantly. His head didint pop off and just roll down to the bottom.
You aren't wrong, but I think they say decapitated due to the severity of his broken neck. While his head did not separate from his body, he was most likely internally decapitated, hence that title being used.

The "Skyway Crash" could mean the many incidents involving the Skyway gondolas seen in many parks, like at Magic Mountain, Six Flags Mid America (Now St Louis) and even at Magic Kingdom in Disney World
I literally googled 'Skyway Crash amusement park accident' (no quotations) and it's probably 1978 Mid-America Sky Ride Accident, since I believe it is the most fatal (and similar to others on the list near it).
great video! as an Australian the thunder river rapids incident was on TV constantly for about a month and really put me off going to theme parks for a long time.
I was actually at the ohio state fair earlier that day when the ride malfunction…even went on the ride 3 times. Crazy because the ride definitely wasn’t safe in hindsight, as it stopped spinning and almost broke when I rode it but they did nothing about it
I don't think referring to a girl that was scalped story as "wholesome" was the right word. Maybe call her strong? Brave? I visually did a 🤨 at that comment. Also you should really do more research before you talk about people that have lost their lives/suffered life changing injuries. Getting the easiest information wrong isn't a good look.

When I turned 18 my first job was at a popular amusement park. To sum up my experience, all I will say is this:
1: Don’t keep loose objects like your phone on you when you’re on rides such as a rollercoaster. Give it to the ride operator and they will hold onto it for you while you’re enjoying the ride. You might drop it and it might fly away and land in the employee parking lot and break someone’s windshield.
2: Stay with your kids while at the park. Don’t let them wander off. They will either do stupid shit and get hurt or someone kidnaps them. I shouldn’t be saying this but there’s tons of people who apparently don’t know that this can happen.
3: Don’t have sex on the merry go round full of kids. Yes. Really.
4: If you don’t feel safe while on a ride, let the ride operator know. Don’t feel bad about holding up the ride. Your safety and wellbeing is important. And who knows, maybe that gut feeling will save your life.
Rides are usually safe. But anything can happen. Always follow the basic safety rules. Don’t be the idiot that stands up in the middle of the ride to take a selfie. It’s your own fault at that point.
P.S. Tire? It’s Tyre (Tie-Ri). Did you not watch any of the news footage for all of these accidents while researching this iceberg? You got so much info wrong on this iceberg.

Yes, but they're worse then normal broken bones. Broken ribs can't be casted and you have to lay there in pain with every time you breath in or cough. As for broken jaws, you need surgery and wires implanted if it's severe and have to get put on a liquid diet.
My school used to take the older kids to Alton towers every summer as a good behaviour reward. I left in 2008 so way before the smiler incident. But my son now attends the same school and they no longer do the trips.

I saw the video of the 380 pound kid falling to his death. You don’t see the impact, but you HEAR it, which is just as horrific. Imagine the sound of a bag of wet, uncooked steaks, impacting the ground at 150 mph and that’s pretty close in my estimation…

There was an incident April 20, 1997 at the former Bells Amusement Park in Tulsa, Ok. The incident involved The Wildcat roller coaster. The accident killed a 14 year old, and injured six

Yup, I’ve seen the MindBender in person as the mall isn’t too far from me. It went for a while but I never mustered up the courage to get on it after I heard what happened.
It’s since been dismantled recently and everything has been shipped away. It’s empty as of now, not sure what they’re gonna put there now.
One thing that wasn’t on this iceberg but fits would be the sky ride accident at the State Fair of Texas. I wasn’t born then, but both of my grandparents and mother were there to witness aftermath the accident.
They were a production of a show when they heard a crash. One of the gondolas was just hanging by a thread and a crowd had gathered around a fallen gondola below

My mom broke her jaw on the Sidewinder at Hersheypark, in the early 2000s. She tried to wave an employee down to tell them that her seat didn't lock properly, but they just waved her and started the ride. All was fine until it got the backwards part of the ride. When the ride started dropping backwards, my mom's harness came up just enough for her face to slam off of it, leaving her unable to close or move her jaw at all. It was not fun.

I’m an Edmonton resident and the mind bender no longer exists it has been taken out and believed to be replaced by something. I did ride it when it was still there and I will say it was one of the best coasters I’ve been on.
I was in the next revolving room when Debbie Stone was killed. At my grad night in 1980 the kid got killed on the peoplemover , and when dolly was killed on the Matterhorn my cousin was the ride operator.

I remember going to Michigans adventure amusement park as a kid and begging my mom to let me ride the "Chaos" ride, to which she refused because it gave her a bad feeling.
Sure enough, the next day the ride had an accident which caused the ride carts to crash to the ground. I remember seeing it on the news and having ice freeze my veins. Thankfully, the park has very minimal accidents or injuries and is relatively safe for the most part.
That was the only accident in the parks history cedar fair parks are usually better about this stuff than six flags

Other than the chaos incident the only injuries or "accidents" were the fault of the park guest, not the park, and the ones that were the parks fault were relatively small with few injuries.
I have a similar story. I'll never forget going on a date with my partner last year, and having our date location get shot up the next day 😵💫

I’m not sure this is the exact accident: but on “terminal velocity”, the actual net was apparently not even off the ground. Again, not sure this is the same accident, but still same attraction. This kind of attraction is no longer at parks.

The Batman roller coaster at six flags over Georgia was actually a boy. I remember some news coverage and witnesses hearing a loud popping sound and it was him being hit by someone's leg and the force decapitated him.

Skinny riders are usually MORE secure than larger ones because the restraint can tighten more. You probably thought you almost fell, but you most likely were never in any danger whatsoever.

About Tyre, I'm sorry that a fourteen year old had died, but honestly, his death is on him, his parents and the ride operator. The kid was literally OVER the safety weight limit. In other words, he was too heavy to be on the ride, and he was still let on. Again, I'm sorry that he died, but he should never have been allowed on.
Still, it's pretty disrespectful to say that the death is on him.
