Fun fact: Scripulous fingore does have a proper origin. It was made as a quick joke by a CZcamsr named Meatball. His breakout video was talking about Super Meat Boy but in his community tab, he brings up how he was the one that made the model and finger wag gif, which he was very surprised how much it blew up.

The "So long king bowser." is another misconception. Adding king in there would add to many syllables.
Mario adds "a" to a lot of his words. So it's most likely: "So long-a Bowser." The A in long, being pronounced like ayy.
The idea that Mario says "King Bowser" was actually stated by Charles Martinet himself.

honestly the fact that so many of the fake anti-piracy screens were made to be scary always bugged me
the Mario Party one felt like it genuinely wanted to be authentic aside from maybe the creepy music, so many of the others that spawned from it tried way too hard and were basically just generic creepypasta material
i liked the sonic 1 one with the thumbs down until he turned into sonic ee ex ee
i personally think the hell valley sky trees are cute ngl. sure theyre massive, but they come off as being a shy sort of native alien watching mario, like a 5 year old would watch a beetle before crying when it flies at them

I think the reason Rosalina as a baby looks similar to regular Rosa is because casual players (who may not play Mario games outside of party games like kart, party, and the sports) wouldn’t recognize her. Of course it’s a discredit to her lore, but I highly doubt that they designed her to retcon her backstory. It’s probably for recognizability for fans who didnt play galaxy
Nabbit can’t be Bowser Jr either because you can literally play as Nabbit and fight Bowser Jr. It also just doesn’t make sense why he would go against his dad
Bowser Jr. was playable in the story mode of Mario Party: Island Tour, even receiving special dialogue from Bowser if you pick him

The wet dry world psrt was just painful to watch. Human brain, green coins, teleport to a beta of the map, buildings on fire... So much stuff that the N64 can't do

He's saying "So long, Bowser," and over emphasizing the G in "long" because of his accent.

8:09 I wouldn't give this anti-piracy screen that much credit. The picture with the characters in the jail cell was just taken from the story mode of Mario Party DS. The reason it works so well is because not that many people remember this scene from the game because they've either never played it or just forgot about it being in the game.

The 'Mario Galaxy DS' hoax actually made me think for a while that Sonic Colors DS was the same thing - its a wii game centering space on the DS. A dumb kid might think to not believe that too. Nope, not only does Colors DS exist, it's basically Sonic Rush 3, so that's fun

Mario is honestly so devoid of interesting theories and rumors because so much of the series lacks any depth. That’s not an insult either, it’s my fav game series, and its simplicity is what keeps it timeless. However, something like the “Boo evolution” theory just isn’t fun to think about because you know the devs just made a ghost enemy with no other intentions behind it lol
Also all of the “horror” created around Mario 64 is just cringe. The personalization thing is dumb and the game isn’t liminal, people are just thinking too hard lol

49:19 actually, this is a bug that happened to SimpleFlips when he tried to play and beat a SM64 Rom Hack challenge where every object in the game except stars (enemies, trees, etc.) are remplaced with coins that a friend of him made

You should of mentioned B3313, a rom hack that adds unused beta content back into the game, it has a lot of stars and I would recommend playing it, just don’t loose yourself in the game or the game might start playing you.

the "if a game detects it's been illegally downloaded" is fine, but SNES games, like the donkey kong country game you used as an example, usually don't do that, they only activate their screens if you're using a copier device, they'll only do it if you're the one creating the pirated copy, or the cartridge isn't reading right.

Another theory on why baby Rosalina looks different between her child form in Mario Galaxy and in spin offs is because of the fact that everything slightly changed when the universe was reborn the end of mario Galaxy and thus possibly changing her childhood as a result of that rebirth.

I swear to God I've heard the full, uncut "so long, king-eh Bowser!" voice clip online before but for the life of me I can't find it. The idea was that the voice clip was just slightly too long, it would have still been playing as Bowser hit one of the mines, so they cut out "king" but left in the "eh" from the accent pronunciation, likely done by a Japanese developer who wasn't a native English speaker.
