The belly flopping dolphin is so weird hahahaa
Fr
It's supposed to resemble it jumping up and diving back down. Like you see in movies and sometimes in real life.
I think there might be enough for a king Kong animatronic ranking now 😂
This, jaws and the bunyip. All terrifying.
If they made a list of the doofiest-looking ones, this one would be #1 😂
They did 😂
@@-anotherbrokeneggthey did a vid
@@caittailsthey did a vid 😂
Most of these don't scare me, but that Medusa one is so creepy!
As a Nashville local I can say that Mr. Hippo is just about on his last leg. Kids have been throwing coins in the water recently and the poor employees have to fish em out at closing.
Defo. Nashvillian here too and I was gonna mention all the Pennie’s in poor hippos water and mouth lol
Omg I remember touching that hippo as a kid and if I remember correctly he was damaged during the flood
@@ultravioletrice4886 I loved the hippo but it also felt like that
I think the most horrifying part about Exalibur is that the ride is still there, nothing has ever replaced it nor has not been removed even after 20 years, but it’s access is blocked off to the public. You can still see a glimpse of the knight tower beside the serpent, through a gap in the fence in the zoo at the park, creepy!
Yeah now THAT is creepy
The Medusa statue scared me so much as a child it looks bigger when looking through the glass as it’s magnified had to go through the tunnel with my eyes shut and my dad guiding me safe to say this was the moment I realised I hate submerged statues
An entire attraction could be built with submechanophobia as the core design principle. Maybe with a fantasy theme so you could have glowing eyes underwater. The vehicle should tip. Because getting in the water with all that gnashing metal would be enough to make any sane person white-eyed and screamy much less a submechanophobe.
Great video(s). I'm in awe of the quality of the host's exterior!
Ooo how about one that takes you through at Ground Level (eg like in a boat, above water as per usual), then basically does a loop back around and takes you through again, but this time you go a storey down and get an Underwater view (like in a tunnel on tracks). Here you’ll you get to see all the inner workings of the animatronics, either through tunnels or from behind glass walls of the tanks. It could serve as both a thrill ride and an educational one, since it’ll provide a glimpse at the science/engineering behind the ride - but for those with Submechanophobia it’ll be freaking Terrifying (or maybe it could help, since they’ll get to see what’s actually going on underneath the surface and prove that there’s nothing terribly dangerous under there, should you fall out of the boat).
And then, as an added bonus, one scene towards the end could fake a ride Malfunction, where an animatronic has broken through the glass walls/tunnels and is riveting out of control - both onto the ride tracks and while slowly filling the area with water (not actually, but maybe there is a splash zone). Then there will be an “Emergency Evacuation” and then the ride will end.
I mean tbh a decomposing animatronic lunging out at you (with quite a bit of metal innards showing) sounds more terrifying than any other Monster ride (bonus points if the animatronic is a shark lol)
@@seshirumakara2594it’s the “being underwater with the robot” that freaks a lot of us out honestly, it can affect me even in video games where I have to dive underwater to get to a mechanical thing
@@spleens4200 oh same - I think I read a Disney Horror reddit story somewhere that involved the main falling out of the Jungle Cruise boat and I immediately thought they were gonna be pulled under/caught or sliced up by the hidden mechanics (since it was a horror story, idk if it was real or not - but the person ended up fine, just had a bit of a swim lol)
Tbh I keep thinking about that story, and while I’m not really sure if I have submechanophbia or not, I certainly wouldn’t want to be taking a dip with anything metal/moving underwater. Though I also think some underwater things (like statues or coral reefs) do look quite pretty, I still probably wouldn’t want to swim up and touch them.
Also just in general the idea of a ride themed around a (scripted) malfunction would be pretty cool, maybe as a thrill attraction (similar to those tours through the woods that some horror events do, where it starts off alright then an actor who is planted in the crowd gets pulled off the bus and murdered, then suddenly the tour has to finish it up hastily before the killer comes back for more) or something like that, because from what I gather, a lot of the reasoning behind the fear of submechanophobia is the chance of something going wrong/an accident occurs involving the animatronics in the ride or just the fear of falling into the water
What if there was a whole theme park made for submechanophobia like submechanophobia land
A new Fastpass Submechanophobia video? It's going to be a good day.
That Medusa statue is horrific! She is final-boss level intimidating
when you showed the Medusa statue in the intro my soul sank, I think unlike a lot of the other animatronics on this list I don't think I'd be able to look up at that thing without feeling genuinely intimidated along with a sinking feeling of dread in my stomach
Yes I want to know more about how parks maintain animatronics.
While I understand not every park has a Disney or universal budget, or Efteling artistic standards I'm always disappointed and a little fascinated seeing broken down and beaten animatronics in otherwise active parks. It's neat that Disney airlifts some out, that makes a lot of sense.
Yep.
Same, I would love to watch how the animatronics are maintained, I’m really curious and really interested in it.
The dragon from Lakeview Farms is actually what started my submechanophobia when I was a little kid. I've never seen anyone talk about it before though so I'm kind of strangely happy to see it listed here and know I'm not the only one it creeps out. Also they weren't kidding about that sound, I remember hearing them before seeing them, actual nightmare fuel.
Seeing Walt introduce this video made my day!
Thank you so much Peter!!!
My two favorite CZcams channels interacting im very happy
I literally grew up going to the Nashville Rainforest Cafe, and it's a part of the reason why I'm now studying engineering to build animatronics. I'm so happy that you mentioned a part of childhood!
Yes same!
Correction: Lakeview farms was located in oregon, not ohio, also as someone who has met the owners of lakeview farms, I can confirm that the animatronics are still there, rotting in the lake, good video!
That King Kong animatronic just reminded me of this recent event in London I've seen videos of for the new movie Godzilla x Kong. They have these statues of Kong and Godzilla displayed and I was instantly reminded of these submechanophobia videos when I saw the Godzilla statue which is made to look like he's swimming in the water, he even has light up eyes and dorsal spines.
The creepiest one on this list for me is the incomplete, rusted metal shark from the defunct Lakeview Farms attraction. Not only am I a bit biased for my love (and fear) of shark animatronics, but the fact that it's more or less a rigid statue that pops up and abruptly flops down backwards into the water to hide again is what makes it unsettling to me. Once it's out of sight, it's really out of sight, too -- and with missing the entire tail, it's such an odd prop. You can see the teeth, at least!
There is a second animatronic in Hellendoorn. A crocodile hiding in the shrubs who appears when the boat approaches. But he is disfunctional many times
6:45 EXCALIBUR! YES! This incredibly neglected ride was the source of my submechanophobia as a kid.... shudder. The ride was left to rot, the animatronics visibly worn and sad looking, and 9/10 the speakers in the boats didn't work, leaving you in an eery silence as you slowly drifted around the ride. To board the boat, you had to be quick getting off the spinning platform and into your seat, as the mechanics under the boats didn't stop, leaving you with this sense of dread that... if you fell... you'd just be crushed in all the machinery as it just kept going without you. Despite all this, I went on it every time I went... only ever heard the speakers working on it two or three times. It was so neglected, the poor thing...
Also, funfact: The Lady of the Lake's arm used to move, swaying back and forth as you heard her trying to speak, but it just came out as garbled bubbles.
The belly flooping dolphin is so funny it’s like it is belly flopping 😂😂😂 great video to I subscribed to
Thanks for pining this it means a lot
Every time me and my family go to the opry mills mall (the one that has the rainforest cafe with the hippo) me and my dad always look at it and say “hey look it’s your mother”
Damn 😂
Lollll😂
My grandad tells me to stop looking at myself in the mirror whenever we pass it lol
@@krissunsixx 😂
Yuck.
I actually work at the sealife center in great yarmouth can easily say was not expecting us to pop up on your video haha 😂
I always quack back 🦆🦆🦆
Oh, so you also found it 🦆🦆🦆
Me 2 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆
Found it 2 🦆 🦆 🦆
Found it too 🦆🦆
4:43 THERE I AM IN THE MIDDLE! The hippo is creepy tho!
Yes I never tire of the submechanaphobia animatronic videos!!
A new animatronic video! Submechanophobia? YES PLEASE!!
Also Walt looks great fully completed!
Thank you so much!
King Kong is ALWAYS going to be number one for scaring the ass off of me. I'm irrationally terrified of huge faces. Weird thing is, is that he doesn't scare me in the movie and I'm actually quite emotionally attached to him, at least in Peter Jackson's version. The older and less realistic he looks to me, the scarier.
EXCALIBUR LOOKS AMAZING. I wish I could have experienced that. :(
Medusa is fascinating. That's a trip I would absolutely make. I'm probably biased, if it were a minotaur I'd be crapping my pants.
She's just too fascinating for me. Logic trumps emotion. The very small scholar in my brain somehow reigns over the artist and emotional part.
I think I’m feeling chills.🥶
There’s a sealife in Orlando with a bunch of huge statues and the one that freaks me out the most is a giant human head and in front is a giant hand. What’s worse is that I went right after they opened up everything after lockdown so I was practically the only one walking around in there
So a few weeks ago I was at WDW and got sick from heat/dehydration and after getting off Jungle Cruise I stumbled to the stroller parking and puked into the river (embarrassing.) After I was done, I sat down on the deck with my head spinning. About 30 seconds later, someone walked up and activated the pirate captain. I’d never seen it before and I jumped but it made me laugh to think that the pirate had just seen me throw up in his river and then came out to yell at me
Lakeview Farm is actually in Oregon and I went there EVERY year as a kid for Halloween! It's awesome to see this little place talked about! Those lake animatronics always scared tf out of me on the boat ride and I can confirm that on my last visit years back they were falling apart and most of them no longer even worked or hardly worked. The dragon could barely even raise its head out of the water and some of the others only had bubbles when they activated. I'm sad to hear they closed down, I always loved that place. 😔
I've seen a lot of submechaniphobia videos, but the one animatronic that always scared me to death was the giant squid from Disneyland's Submarine Voyage, which I'm sure you already covered.
Okay those elephants at night actually reminded me of my childhood fears
It felt like I’ve been there, but I never did and I never want to
I think I dreamt about getting abandoned in an amusement park all alone at night multiple times
The way the Dolphin splashes just looks so violent
Probably not gonna happen but I think a great idea for a video would be greatest theme park ride jump scares.
I think they've done a video on this already
That Medusa statue scared ne so much as a kid! It looks huge in person, the glass magnifies it when you go in the first room before the tunnel so it’s really scary. Also the ride at Drayton Manor used to freak me out because it was really on a huge open lake and the water was so high that it really felt like the dragon could just drag your boat under.
Finally the moment I requested and has been waiting for, new/more submechanophobia with Walt, thanks sooooo much fastpass facts and enjoy your day alots ❤
the worst part of having submechanophobia is imagining falling in that water with those things
You should put the Alligator animatronic at the Cleveland Zoo in one of these videos. I never see anyone ever mention that one. It always freaked me out as a kid
Rainforest cafe was my childhood. Specifically the one in sanfransico before it shut down….
I’m not afraid of animatronics let alone submurged ones but that dolphin is horrific
Never heard of the Medusa statue before now. Very cool.
The shark in the lake of Alton towers will never fail to scare me 😂
With the mention of the rainforest cafe I have a story of some well loved animatronics I’ve known since I was a kid: there’s a rainforest cafe in the local mall, it’s been around for at least 24 years. And in those 24 years we’ve always had an elephant animatronic and an alligator animatronic. Neither are supposed to be touched but they are, and the alligator pool is full of coins too
Under one hour people

2:03 The tree used to scare me when I was younger
I WENT TO THAT RAINFOREST CAFE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, OMG!!!
I miss that place, I want to go back there sometime, I remember all those cool animatronics! my family and I even got a photo done in front of the tigers!! :D
0:43 quack!
18:57 I am so glad I got to be on this video for just a short bit but I’m still happy I’m in a fastpass facts video. Thank you.
I remember when I was really young, going on vacation in the UK. We went to this place called "Bewilderwood," where they took you across this huge lake.
In the lake, there was an animatronic of this thing called "Mildred the Corclebog." It *terrified* me as a kid, due to how huge the lake was, and imagining this thing just living in it, solitary.
every time he says "submechaniphobia" take a shot, I guarantee you will not live.
Bruce the shark was the start of my submechanophobia and still HORRIFIES ME
seeing walt in action is still so cool to me, i love that y'all have your own fully functioning animatronic mascot!
the dolphin at the beginning is really funny to me, the movement for it is so goofy 😂 it probably would be a little more unsettling in person but on video it cracks me up
OH MY GOSH it's so crazy finally getting to see Walt in videos! I thought this day would never come, but there he is, and he is wonderful!
(PS: I love his little top hat!)
I've been part of the dark spot for 3 years and already I like this channel I haven't watched your videos for the past 8 months
This was actually a really good list, as I hadn’t seen a lot of these before 😎 I find it funny the different things that can bother us about these creations, whether it is the way they move, the dirty water, being splashed, seeing the metal workings in the water, etc. I honestly think the shark and dragon in that lake are super creepy. The ones that aren’t in a small contained ride area really creep me out. Feeling like they could be abandoned in a random pond somewhere is nightmare fuel 🫠
I always loved seeing the hippo at Opry Mills as a kid.
Same
In Brazil's Beto Carrero World there's the Pirate's Island where you can see a really creepy creature of the Black lagoon under a waterfall inside a cave. It's really creepy and I think its perfect for a submechanophobia video
Perfect, we will add it in part 8.
I can't find a video of the ride
I am genuinely heartbroken to hear that Snake River Expedition has closed down. My boyfriend and I started going to cedar point for Halloween 2 years ago and last year was the first time we wanted to try that expedition. Unfortunately we got there RIGHT AFTER their last showing for the day, and the worker told us to come back tomorrow, but we couldn’t bcuz we were heading back home the next day. So now hearing that they closed it, I’m very very upset at our missed chance😞
I remember going on the Excalibur ride at Drayton Manor and the moment I saw the Serpent spinning, I started shaking in fear. I've never been on the ride since.
Didn't realise it closed back in 2011.
I actually got to do the Pirates adventure treasure of the seven seas on my visit to Walt Disney World back in 2017 and I got to finish all of them with a friend who works at Walt Disney World.
Hi fastpase facts! Can you please do more of submechphobia videos and can you please do the crocodile from splash mountain at the end of the ride?!?! Thanks and keep up the good work! ❤❤❤
17:34 FREEDY
Last time I went to Opry Mills (last year) and stopped by the hippo, it definitely had slowed down quite a bit and gotten quite jerky. That and its size are what makes it so scary to me. Granted, my megalophobia tends to feed into a lot of other phobias. I haven't gone in to see the other animetronics, because my family always chooses to dine at The Aquarium Restaurant when we make a trip there. Lots of fish, sometimes mermaids, and no scary robots 😩
i know that hippo! thats my favorite rainforest cafe! i didn't know people thought he was scary i loved petting him alot when i was a kid, the poor thing defiantly needs an upgrade, im so happy an animatronic i had a close connection with is on this list!
We’ve had tons of submechanophobia videos and they’ve been so much fun! Perhaps we could have a megalophobia animatronic and attraction video?
I would actually love to see how they move the animatronics for repair. Especially by helicopter that's so specific and interesting.
The elephant repair would actually be very neat to see.
The hippo one reminds me of the gator that Disney used to have in Downtown Disney when it was called that. He used to freak me out but I loved to watch him lol
OMG I love the animatronic you guys were working on❤
It sends shivers down my spine. But another good ranking!🦆!
Thank you so much!!!
This is my first time seeing Walt in action and, wow this Gentleman looks awesome and also wonderful to see another submechanophobia vid
Thanks to you guys i can't shower this night
The octopus in the popeye ride at universal studios traumatized me for life
It’s cool but sometimes kinda creepy 🙂
The whale one looked like a kinder toy
I've been to the sealife center with the medusa a couple times, it's a really lovely place.
Amazing video! Love your top hat, Walt. It reminds me of the top hat that Stevie Nicks wears in the 1977 "Rumors" tour. 🦆🤖🎩
-Turquoise the crew-poster
Omg, Walt's hat and bowtie, I can't!!!😍😍😍
Omg no the seals in the ice berg are hilarious 😂
My thoughts for the King Kong Animatronic. Ether he's holding a large Subway Sandwich, or he's trying to tell the guests on the giant fish that he just caught.
Anything having to do with whales terrifies me but when you combine that with a dark ride it’s even worse
Please do a video about Disney’s repairing of animatronics, everyone talks about the deterioration but never the care given to animatronics
I remember making a video of Submechanophobia with Earthbound/Mother 2 music
I grew up going to Disney World and I had no idea they airlifted the elephant animatronics out of there! . . .And I always quack back ;)
I’m a Nashville TN native and THE HIPPO OH MY GOD 😂😂😭😭 he’s gotten rough last I checked at Christmas. His sounds aren’t as loud. Or maybe Opry Mills is too loud lol.
I’m probably late but have you done a video of the alligator in front of rainforest Café in Disney Springs Orlando Florida ? It’s kind of scary when the mist is thick 😱😱
I absolutely forgot about the dolphin. I used to visit the park in Ruhpolding almost every month before covid. I really should go again
I literally just saw that Medusa one in person like 2 weeks ago and I genuinely felt queasy, I hate that thing
🐸 I didn't know there was a ride based off Epic so I'm pretty happy! Awesome list. I saw Provost Park Pass do the scavenger hunt in Adventures Land and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. ❤
There’s a Rainforest cafe in a mall near where I live and I’ve never seen that hippo, only crocodile/alligator
My favorite submechaniphobia is that Brazilian 2021 Rio De Janeiro float! Chills. So amazing and so beautiful yet so nerve wracking with that much water on a FOAT.
Glad to hear the narrator back again 👏
He never left
❤you have leveled up
Rainforest Cafe has at least two locations here in Houston Texas one in Galveston Island that actually has the water ride and another in Katy Texas which is just the restaurant
Oh, the rainforest café that is so popular, London and double Dhabi and it’s so good Zeina animatronics wow
The first location is pronounced "fry-sight park"! Freizeit means "free time"!
May you do a video of crocodile animatronics
That's an Awesome Idea!
@@fastpassfacts thank you 😊 crocodiles are my favourite animal
The miners at valas pumpkin patch in Omaha Nebraska used to scare the crap out of me as a kid. They still make me pretty uneasy 😂
