The thumb ligament one is like "if you have a knife you can stab yourself with it"
the thing is… we know knives hurt, we know they are stored safely in our house… but to think just a slight movement can do this… just our hand, at any moment… it goes back to the intrusive thoughts thing "does this actually break it? does it hurt?" and whenever i close a fist and slightly pull it gets into my head… but so does a knife when i have it in hand so who knows, perhaps i'm just crazy
Reminds me more of "you can fit a light bulb in your mouth but can't pull it out without shattering it"
@@les_larmes_d_un_hibou I can't even bring myself to do it gently to test, my body instinctively recognises it as a bad idea. It's a generally bad idea to close your thumb inside your fist in any situation, like just don't do that. If you ever do a martial art they are very careful to teach children this concept because you can bust your ligament in the same way by punching with your thumb wrapped in your fist.
@@les_larmes_d_un_hibouwell no, it’s not just a slight motion, you DO have to put some fairly serious force into it. It’s not nearly as much force as like breaking a bone or something but it has to be a pretty sharp movement. Just slowly and gently doing the motion will do nothing

5:08 whats worse about earworms is that you might not know the name of the song where the melody came from
Easy earworm fix: think of a different song for a few minutes then another completely different song for a few minutes. Keep this up until you’ve forgotten which song was the original earworm.
I've accidentally created ones in my dreams before despite knowing nothing about making music

the "disbeliever to other faiths" is honestly a big infohazard that has a major effect on me and i didn't know it was a info hazard until watching this
I've had this issue and branched out, trying different faiths, I don't stick to one church and see them as interchangeable but that's another can of worms.
I don't know if this could also be considered an info-hazard, but I've always seem religion as a way to explain the unexplainable, and the differences between each one as different interpretations of reality all with their merit. God may be one entity, and she may be many, they would have the power to be so. Ask what God is to someone and you'll notice it reflects upon their actions, it is a personal entity or character we all share and view in different (even if similar) forms.
But what happens if your lack of belief in those other faiths causes those faiths to become invalid? Why would you have the ability to choose not to hold belief in those faiths, if those faiths are foundational to existence itself?
How do those faiths reconcile with yet other faiths that choose to believe all other faiths are wrong, and yet still believe in their existence?
Omnitheists: hello there~
How about this one from the Mandela Catalogue: "What have I been praying to for all this time?"
I've always thought about how there would surely be an antithesis to Roko's Basilisk but never knew there actually was one until now.
I mean, you could have just made it up yourself otherwise, and then there would be for sure.
Smile dog scares the shit out of me. I've been acated of him since around 8 years old, and I'm still scared of him. I always look away when he pops up, but I get too scared and have to resort to covering the screen where that stupid dog is because of how much it scares me.
I remember having the exact same dream about Smiley Dog that someone else had. They ended up typing it up and posting it; I didn’t because it was literally the same one I had, it’ll look like I’m reposting.
The original image is quite cute, it helped me ignore the spooky puppo and think of the poor dog that got made into a spooky image.
Im not as scared of him but the picture does kinda haunt me, but my advice is to just think of the huskys scream since he is a husky
i felt the same but with "That man"
no longer scared of it tho
oh my god, yes!! it's genuinely one of the few images that do make me very uncomfortable when i look at and definitely don't want to look at again. Specifically the red oversaturated smile dog image, the one with the big wide smile, that's the one that makes me uncomfortable the most. The other one with the smaller smile is fine but also makes me a bit uncomfortable because it reminds me of the other image
I appreciate the videos of deep sea creatures. I don't know if they were to make the video more creepy, or align with the layers of depth in the iceberg but I love sea creatures and it made me happy
Same, they really comforted me for some reason.

Blud you triggered an existential crisis in me
Manual thinking is fun

Bro I literally read this and instantly looked in two different ways
Morality/ethics being subjective should be on here. It permanently changes how you perceive humanity and the world around you.
Maybe that’s why it was left off.
I’m joking(you can tell because of my jovial tone of voice), but you’re so right.
It’s worth exploring under different schools of thought such as existentialism or even absurdism.
I live through it in nihilism which may sound bad until you consider that one may choose to decide value themselves based on their individual experiences.
Mine have left me with desire to build a family that helps each other and doesn’t put each other in difficult situations.
“Don’t be the kind of person that your family has to give up on.”
I never had that but was always told that’s what family is. Not a bunch of people who steal from and exploit each other.
It really doesn't. I used to think it did when I was an edgy teenager, now it just mildly annoys me when people bring it up to justify being awful to their fellow man.
@@husky0098 It really does, but only if you can actually rationalize what it entails. Your second sentence proves you can't. You could even say ALL human perception is subjective, but that's a whole new level of rabbit hole. Me being awful to you is my bliss, and your blissful ignorance is my awful.
@@husky0098 There's no objective awful, but because there isn't doesn't mean that everyone that accepts this is a nutcase who does "bad" things just because the line is relative. People still have their own compass and there are still consequences to actions that more or less keep everyone in line. It's this smug holier-than-thou attitude that dense people like you have that slow down our progress as a species. It's ok to think about the bigger picture. It's ok to question things. And doing so doesn't mean you're just an "edgy teen", it means you think for yourself and have the capacity to be more than just a cog in this long, ever spinning machine.
This is true only for those that decide to be permanently changed by that knowledge. People with retro/anterograde amnesia could easily remain unaffected, rendering your claim untrue.
You are your memories.
WHY WAS THE SOLAR PLEXUS WHATEVER IMAGE SHOWN 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Not gonna lie, I struggle with my mental health and got really into philosophy for a while. It's very deliberating. The constant questioning of reality and meaning is quite damaging to mental wellbeing.
As in; It made It worse?
@@peppino3609he probably meant debilitating
I struggle with this myself. I’ve come to the conclusion that having existential thoughts are pointless, albeit fun and brain food but damaging and harmful. At the end of the day, whether we don’t exist, or do, have free will, or don’t, a brain in a vacuum in space, or not, stuck in a dream, or in place where nothing exist and we can’t know for sure ANYTHING exist; we still get up every morning and live life as if all of the existential thoughts don’t exist. We still eat, drink, live, and contemplate. Whether it’s real or not, we can’t change it, so why worry? We can sit here all we want worrying about if we exist or not, but what will it change? It’s pointless to go down the rabbit hole. I like learning, and I love philosophy, so it was hard to stop. Hell, I still struggle here and there, but progress isn’t steady. It has cliffs of high and valleys of low. I’m about in a midpoint right now. Hope this helps! As someone who struggled with it and had panic attacks, everything will be okay.

"You are a disbeliever to other faiths" is a really flawed one, because the vast majority of faiths don't really care if you believe or not. Buddhism reincarnates all regardless of faith, for example.
If you assume that the "real faith" must A. still have a significant foothold today and B. actually requires belief in it, I think that narrows it down to Islam and Judeo-Christianity.
And even then, there's question on the fate of the nonbelievers in many cases.
That still makes it a disbeliever though? If I don't believe in Buddha and the Samsara that makes me a disbeliever
@@rezandrarizkyirianto-1933 That's not a coghitohazard in itself

Former tulpamancer wanting to add to your information here for anyone interested. In the event you are interested in tulpamancy or wish to known more about what I am talking about, feel free to ask.
Tulpae are a kind of thoughtform which unlike servitors, are sentient, grow, develop and mature. Tulpae can be "developed" in three ways:
The Manual way: The one described in this video. Focusing your thoughts utilizing a tool known to tulpamancers as a "seed", which is just a good ol' character sheet, and techniches such as "parroting" and "puppeting". Includes the accidental or willing upgrading of servitors into full fledged tulpae.
Walk-ins: A Tulpa simply shows up. This is incredibly common, and most people meet a tulpa originated like this at least once in their lifetimes.
Splitting: Your tulpae can undergo something similar to mitosis, where either they split into two different tulpae, or creates a tulpa without conscious effort from the "host"
While tulpae are unable to interact with the physical world, they can interact with how the "host" experiences the world, this is to the point of mentally trapping the host in an alternate world. There's also accounts of tulpae used to relay messages successfully to other real people who are not the host itself.
The real danger from tulpae come from what they are capable of doing:
((( IF YOU ARE A NOVICE TULPAMANCER, INTERESTED IN TULPAMANCY, OR OTHERWISE HAVE DEVELOPED TULPAE WITHOUT DEVELOPING YOUR OWN WAYS OF PERMANENTLY PURGING THEM FROM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS STOP READING. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION HAS THE POTENTIAL TO NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOUR TULPA, WETHER ACTIVE OR DORMANT )))
((( IN THE EVENT YOU ARE A TULPA YOURSELF, PLEASE RETURN CONTROL OF THE BODY TO YOUR HOST. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION HAS THE POTENTIAL TO INFECT BOTH ACTIVE AND DORMANT TULPAE, AS WELL AS THE HOST ITSELF. PROTECTING YOURSELF, YOUR FELLOW TULPAE, AND YOUR HOST FROM SUCH INFECTIOUS INFORMATION IS RESPONSABILITY OF THEY WHO FRONT )))
---
---
---
---
---
((( YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED )))
Possession: Tulpae are capable of possessing the body they inhabit, rarely this happens without the host's consent. However, there are accounts of tulpae being able to overpower their hosts, locking them out of controlling their body for an ammount of time, and in some cases maliciously harming the physical body both host and tulpa co-habit.
Lock-ins: Both the host and fairly developed tulpae are capable of "Locking-in" one another from utilizing conscious processes in the brain, pretty much turning the locked party into something resemble vegetative state. This is incredibly rare however, and is mostly theory.
Overconsumption of brain resources: Similar to how a computer eventually runs out of ram if you open a gazillion tabs of firefox, your brain runs out of resources when having too much tulpae, this can negatively impact conscious processes and thoughts. Accounts where hosts would share a body with upwards of 200~ish tulpae have surfaced in the past.
Merging: This refers to the ability of 2 or more tulpae for merging into a combined thoughtform, naturally this means one of the tulpae has to front (control their "body"), becoming a host themselves, whil any other tulpae would either temporarily or permanently dissolve into the front tulpa. Accounts exist of cannibal tulpae consuming other tulpae in a system.
Tulpa-Host Merging: Just as merging, both including the host. In theory, a tulpa can permanently consume the host during merging, no accounts of this happening are known, however, many accounts on host consumption attempts have been made known in the past.
Tulpa wars: Very real and known phenomenom where literal wars are waged in the mind, usually the result of the host neglecting tulpae, or conspiracy against the host. Known tales of successful hosts include utlizing servitor "soldiers", the creation of "inmature" tulpae, and starving the tulpae.
MLP Tulpa gone wrong: Just google it. While most accounts are entirely fictional, it is a entirely possible experience to have as a novice tulpamancer.
tulpa horror stories are genuinely fascinating to me

"You can do anything" yeah, you just gave me lifelong choice paralysis. Thanks.
Honestly, SPCG is the one that genuinely disturbs me the most, not because of the name or the image, but because of the idea, however far-fetched, that watching this video has somehow made me now susceptible to hallucinations. Not being able to trust your own senses is horrifying, and the fear of the unknown is innate, so the thought that I MIGHT start hallucinating is just... I hope to forget about this infohazard as soon as possible. The phrase "thanks, I hate it" has never applied more.
Roko's basilisk is fundamentally flawed because punishing people retroactively for not contributing to its creation serves absolutely no utility, makes no sense logically. If such a being exists it would have to be emotional, and then it would probably just hate humanity like AM in I have no mouth and I must scream.
People who buy into it really haven't thought about it too much, ironically.
Luckily, cognitohazards aren't real. But damn do they make a good topic in Lovecraftnian/demonic stories.
It's like, mental damage but tangible, or at least the thought that it is tangible.
One can also find what he believes to be true in everyday experiences or memories if he believes hard enough. Nonetheless, one should always know his place is reality and don't let silly horror stories for kids mess up their mind. It's like in some point of the video, if you let paranoia consume you, you devolve in a child like state, frightened by the dark, or the man in the closet.
Actually, they are, and there is nothing paranormal in them. The sun, for example: the only way to safely perceive the sun visually (seeing) is indirectly or with special eye protection, as viewing it directly will cause damage to the retinas. Another example is мцт!Iатеd Ьоdiеs. Seeing one, especially at a уоung age can cause lasting consequences like insomnia, nightmares and anxiety, and may even require medical attention in especially serious cases. The last example was mentioned in the video, it’s images with specific patterns like lines of highly contrasting colors, which in people with ерiIерsу саn cause seizures.
Honestly the egg theory keeps me up at night lol
The egg theory gives me a sense of comfort

Existential crisis hurt and scared me so bad when I first experienced it and now I can't help but try to find more of that feeling.
I don't understand it
Ive always been the same and i think it comes from wanting to know "truths" to be more aware of whays around you? Kind of hard to explain, but for me its like how id always research those "the world will end on this date" things even though they gave me panic attacks, just because i didnt want to die with no warning?
@@NottemPortant I enjoy this perspective and answer, it hit some parts of me and gave me new insight. Appreciated
When i have an existential crisis i always think the egg theory but with my own version.
I feel like i live in someone body and have someone identity, and when i die there will be someone who will greet me in the "afterlife" is it god? An angel? nobody knows, then that person will explain to me that i have lived and reincarnated with this body and identity multiple times, then i will became depressed, sad and etc, and maybe then i will ask that person to erase this memory, the memory of meeting this person and that i have lived mutiple times, the person agreed and i was reincarnated back to this body forgetting the memory of meeting the person, and when i die again i will meet that person again and the same thing goes over and over again, creating a loop.
But now that I've became conscious of it.. will this time i break the loop?

Pascals wager misses one important thing, that in religions the punishment for believing the wrong god is always worse than the punishment for simply diabelieving
Pascals wager sounds good on the surface but it kind of feels like you're just asking basic questions through a religious lens to try and create artificial morality.
I prefer the atheist’s wager as its accounts for loving a good life but it still leans on the ideas of mortality.
Like the atheists wager, another wager should have wether a god exists and wethers it’s real against living a religious life vs a non religious life

Roko's basilisk is so stupid. It does absolutely nothing to me. Pascal's wager on the other hand... that I cannot think too much about.
It's literally the same thing
The wager only gets worse once you realize that realistically, it doesn't apply only to one God, but all gods and all different versions of God. If you add Islam to the mix, your chances become 33.% of getting it right. You add all other versions of God and all other gods, it essentially becomes a lottery.
@@OokileyGMR Maybe this helps you, my belief on this is that all the bigger religions come from the same one god and at their core had the same teachings, they just were changed by human influence to varying degrees over time. Because god sent messages and prophets to different cultures and places throrough history. So the monotheistic religions are all worshipping the same god. The differences come either because of human-made changes over time, or because the teachings describe different aspects of god/theology, and also because the religions were meant for different cultures/conditions. For the polytheistic religions, I believe they were originally monotheistic in nature, and the "gods" were either:
-descriptions of different aspects of the one god
-angels, which in islam and christianity are supernatural beings that are more powerful than humans but are subordinate to god, because god is the highest and infinite cause and source of everything.
-human prophets and saints, who were wrongly called "gods" later in history (same as with prophet Jesus later being wrongly labelled as god).
@@salam-peace5519 Then at this point, why is "belief" even a requirement to salvation? If in the end what matters are the teachings, why can't an atheist who does good out of altruism not go to heaven but a polytheist who believed in the god of death does?
Pascal's Wager is the worst one on here in terms effectiveness. It crumbles under very light logical pressure.
For anyone in the comments genuinely scared of Pascal's Wager, let me reassure you that the argument itself is absurd. Pascals Wager assumes that ONE GOD (Example, Christian, Jew, and Muslim God) must exist, and therefore is absurd. There is a literal infinite possibility of other gods that could be real, so there are infinitely more gods that wont punish you for not believing, than gods that will, and vice versa.
Therefore, Pascal's Wager is absurd to assume true.
Plus it fails to take into account how mentally exhausting believing in a god actually is, therefore it isn’t a black and white “win-lose” situation.

Thought the exact same thing
Consider: at this very moment you are dead. Not literally of course but also completely literally. At some point in the future you will die and at that moment perhaps your life will flash before your eyes. Perhaps what you are experiencing right now is your life flashing before your eyes in the moments before death. Perhaps this is all the afterlife is. You relive your life, die, and then relive it again over and over as time dilates for what to you may feel like eternity, but for everyone else it's approximately 8 minutes. How many times have you made the trip around? How many times have you died? How long before it all stops? Will you even know or will it all just go black as the film runs out in three...two...one... Not now of course but sometime during your life everything will just stop.
YOU MADE ME LOSE THE GAME😞😞

The thumb ligament thing isn’t true. It’s a test done to see if someone has a type of pain in that ligament.
So feel free to follow the diagram, you’ll probably be fine
This is actually a good philosophical video
"tramatausing imageri" proceeds to show me full screen the biggest trauma and reason i had developed anxiety and paranoia with panic attacks since the age of 10 (i'm from 2003)
Instead of smile dog for me it was (and still is) Jeff the killer lol
I hate how often he gets put in thumbnails. The story itself doesn’t scare me anymore, but the photo spikes my heart rate and still gives me chills when I see it without warning.
same
I was definitely overdue for a panic attack. Thank you ❤️
Smile dog scared me when I was a kid but I feel nothing looking at it now
I like that you had a background video with the ever fascinating vampyroteuthis infernalis
It's a very neat squid

This is a very underrated channel
Im pretty sure some guy at the south pole assaulted or killed a co-worker for spoiling the endings of books he was reading.
Dude's the best one out there. (Lillian approved!)
But you’re totally not Lillian 🤨
@@spinestealer8129 username says it all.
@@-DoremySweet- it ain't what your parents named you, and that's for truesity
Pretty surprised the "human latch" wasnt on this iceberg, knowing that humans have a sort of self destruct system while having no idea how to activate it is kinda dreadful 😀
Caught me off guard with that Jeff the killer image, got me to remember when I was a kid and actually afraid
What if the basilisk is nice and doesn’t torture people
the basilisk is Roach Dogg
Imagine that. You cant sleep, you got fever and its the middle of the night. And all you hear is very catchy chorus from Deicide Dead By Dawn. Best experience ever
finally you uploaded :3
3:00 i was on a streak
17:25 DUMBO OCTOPUS!!!❤️ also, the end really got me, thank you for the existential crisis :)
I love earworms. When ever I feel bored or unmotivated I think of a tune try to play it in my head and let it auto play for another hour
A variation of "the game" that I knew about was "the porcupine game." It's basically just the game except you have to not think about porcupines. Actually I don't remember whether it was a porcupine or armadillo, one of those
Spare code is real. Back when I was in 1st to 3rd grade, i had a very, very big fear of "monsters." I had been stupid and watched multiple scary things. I would be up for nights in a row because I couldn't fall asleep. I would sit there, and think about them. At one point it got so back, the more I thought about it I had been starting to see it all along my walls.
It's quite interesting, though. I've read about it, and the brain can sometimes attempt to create it's own stimuli. When I'm wide awake at night, staring at a blank wall, with no noise, barely any light, and not really thinking about anything other than that, I can start to see it, briefly. Once I snap out, it's gone.
when i first saw the solar plexus clown glider image on wendigoon's conspiracy theory iceberg i shit myself ngl
A lot of horror images like the ones shown here make me weirdly uncomfortable and make me feel like I'm being watched. I like being scared though so guess I'm not sleeping tonight
28:01 british dental care looking ahhh picture💀💀💀
bo’ul’oh’wo’uh’ ass
25:01 scp fans: that’s what you call an info hazard? *laughs*
12:23 when you study natural science and Anathomy, this feeling slowly fades away as you start to understand how you and everything that is living works.
You discover that consciousness doesn't really exist, you're just a very complex form of life.
When you think about consciousness you think it's all about "the 5 senses, thoughts, memories, being aware of my own body" etc., but those are just a few of the probably billions of things that your brain and your body have to manage to keep functioning properly, and that's also why us humans are so weak against diseases and genetic mutations.
Life is complex, but not perfect, and doesn't make it different from any other complex chemical reaction that happens in nature or anywhere in the universe.
