Telling US PEOPLE that "it was all about profit" is kind of weird. I assume that the Sacklers are one of the "big" historical families involved in the millenia-long opioid crisis, and that there among them and the New World Cartels (which are run by the descendants of the families who were in power before the arrival of The Sacklers and Pocahontas). It's different when a small business says, "it was all about profit", and when The Sacklers say the same thing. Why can't there be more harmony between the gangs of the world (who ALSO live in a world where SOME things are legal)? All you do is run around like chickens with your heads cut off, and point fingers at each other.
Such an infuriating ruling. Proving conclusively there is no equal justice under law in the US.
Says a lot of our culture when the highest court in the land looks at the facts of this case as says "I see no wrongdoing here".

I just have to point out that the overcorrecting done after the opioid blowout has caused chronic paon patients to be ignored, dismissed, accused of lying and go untreated. People are dying and no one talks about it. Chonic pain sufferers su!cide rares have gone through the roof because of the all or nothing approach to this problem and it sickens me that these lives have been thrown away because people don't care that pain patirnts have basically been told to f ourselves because of the bad bahavior of others.
I agree! My pharmacist just told me my medication is on back order! Back order? WTF are they doing to patients with serious and debilitating pain?! I don’t know what to do?
@kathleenwyatt563 I'm sorry that's happening to you. I've heard some people have had better chances if getting their prescriptions filled through independent pharmacies, but a lot of them have to pay out of pocket because the insurance is either not accepted or flat out refuses to cover the pain medication they need. It would be nice if anyone with a platform gave significant coverage to this problem. It's like pain sufferers have been written off as an acceptable loss in this whole debacle. Maybe if it affects someone important or a loved one of someone in a position to do something or call attention to the problem.

I watched Dope Sick on Hulu and they tried to get Germany on board too but we’re having a hard time getting Germany to prescribe their drug. I don’t know if they succeeded or not but their F.D.A or whatever they call it in Germany must be a lot tougher than ours.
Other countrues' screening agencies are much tougher on drugs, cosmetics, and skin care products (and perhaps others) than the FDA. My mother told me eons ago to not use talcum powder and it's just been removed? We're the means to profits for these people; we need better laws.

She used that Shower to Shower powder all the time which was another one of their powders that contained talc. Wonder if that could have had anything to do with it.
Off subject a bit but any cosmetic sold in China requires animal testing which clearly isn't necessary.

I know for a fact, the opioid abuse started with prescribed oxicontin.
Thankfully, I haven't taken an opioid or benzo in 25 years.
My last run was 15 vicodin in one day.
I went through withdrawals at home on my own.
I had severe endometriosis and my ob/gyn prescribed oxycontin ... I preferred vicodin, thank God. I didn't like the time release .. I wanted to feel the high immediately. I didn't know how easy it was to dissolve the coating that made it time released. By the time I knew I could do that, I had enough of wrecking cars and trying to fix the damage I caused when I was effed up on pills.
I was prescribed pain killers when I had surgery in 2004. Cleaning out my drawers, I found the bottle of vicodin damn near full a year later.
I was like whoa.. somehow I won. Call it luck, divine intervention, sheer will ..whatever. I am grateful.
Then THEY should be responsible to EVERY PATIENT who became addicted or died from its use.
There are old commercials on CZcams from the mid-90s. One in particular is an older guy talking about how it was less than 1% addictive. That people went back to work and their daily lives. We need a better solution to hold evil people accountable!!!

They passed out bottles of Valium to the Vets. He would have bottles of 200 count of Valium in different Mg's. My brother inlaw was so addicted to Valium after the Vietnam War. It was heartbreaking.

They told us medical professionals it was non addictive pain relief but patients dose regimen increased exponentially within weeks with decreased efficacy.

from 2005 to 2014 my md gave me 360 ir 10 mg Roxicodone 120 vicoprofin and 90 morphine 120 Klonipin she essentially gave me an addiction....
Every month ? If yes wow that is a boat load of prescriptions, and Klonpin a anxiety medicine which shouldn’t be mixed with any opioids let alone 3 different kind of pain killers , you can sue that doctor for his carelessness

It was supposedly a slow release form, which was supposed to be less addictive than other painkillers and opioids. They doctored their charts though and lied continuously after they knew this wasn’t the case.

OCs were good for short term pain. Everything went to crap when they cracked down on it. The problem was that older patients that stockpiled them started selling them on the street to whoever had the money. Now look at what's going on. And they are still making them but they are to hard to get. OPs didn't work. What a sad thing.😮

The US has allowed healthcare to be a part of its capitalistic system so unfortunately that behavior comes with it. Personal responsibility is always missing from this convo. Just because a doctor gives you 60 pills do not mean you have to take all 60. There’s a difference between taking something to relieve pain & taking something to get high. I’ve been offered strong pain meds before & refused them. I only took what I needed. Everybody that’s addicted to heroin now did not start out bc of taking opioids from a back injury, surgery, etc. They really need to stop with that lie
