  • Ford 6.0 powerstroke diesels with turbo repairs this video is a must see for DIY!!!! Welcome! Good to see everyone is back and hopefully healthy! Obviously the video is longer than 10 min but we had some chit chat that we needed to talk about. We got a repair that WE 6.0 techs know very well and that is turbo charger replacement. I had one to do & wanted to show how EVERYONE would want and anticipate their turbo charger replacement to go. LIKE - COMMENT - SUBSCRIBE - SHARE See you next friday!!!!!

I changed my turbo when I put a welded cooler in my 05 I changed the drain and feed lines changed the cac boots. I went with a Powermax stage 1 a lot more response oh a lot more whistle sounds like a jet with 4 inch turbo back exhaust no cat just a resonator. Bearings were gone in stock factory turbo vanes sticking unison ring was worn.

I guess that's one benefit to having small hands and skinny arms. I had to use a magnet once I had em loose to get all but one of turbo bolts out because I couldn't my hands in there to grab em.

I have the early 2003 6L so that one bolt may be different (glad you mentioned it). I don't know if my turbo is going bad...hard start, peculiar loud noise - I'll need to check several other parameters but it's making a peculiar/odd noise so I'm suspecting the turbo. At any rate, I watched your video and this will save me TONS of time if the issue is in fact a turbo R&R. Thanks so much for taking the time to assist & inform others. Kudos.

10 minutes is crazy good, my neighbor lost his turbo on a 1,000 mile road tip and the shop charged him $1,800 labor and $1,800, over $4,000 total for a new Ford turbo in his 05 Excursion... turns out the turbo wasn't even the issue, it was a gas pedal sensor or something like that bx it did the same thing 400 miles later...

Good shit brother. I did a 6.0 turbo last Friday. you know how long I been fighting those air filters I have a new way NOW THANKS. the exhaust clamps I unbolt them and spray them with some good penetrating spray and they usually pop soon after. But I think your back east so probably more pain in the ass with all that rust and salt.

HOLY SHIT!!! That is one clean 2007! Brings back memories of my 2007 before I sold it to get into my 2016. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I miss those 6.0 days. Yup you did it exactly the day I used to do it. The bothers I had with doing this job were: those pushpins that retain the wiring loom over the cowl (the MAP sensor one being the hardest without breaking), that damn cheesy VGT wiring connector with the two retaining tabs that snap ever so easily, and once undoing the coolant bottle, pulling it off to side used to make me extremely nervous about possibly breaking that 'y' connection between the heater hose to front cover tube. Looks like this '07 also needs the update drain tube (6C3Z-9T515-A). Can't believe I still remember all the important 6.0 part numbers on the parts I used to sell quite frequently. You guys are still getting 6.0 diesels coming onto your doorstep? I would've thought for us dealership guys that 6.0 diesels would be old news by now! Now...can you remove a 6.0 diesel turbo from an E-Series in that same ten minutes?
