Finally a video where you actually see distance shots of the watch. Also appreciate your reasoning for picking the model instead of just spewing out specs like 99% of the vids out there. I originally preferred the oyster on this model but recently was able to see and try one with the jubilee and wow! Better fit and absolutely beautiful. It will be my next watch. Recently picked up a Starbucks from my AD and it is fantastic. Not too much green like the Hulk and different enough from all the other black subs. You are right...the gmt does fit a little better and on 6.3 inch wrists you made the right choice. I have flat 6.75 inch wrists and the sub just fits me. A hair bigger and it would be too big. Agree on the pepsi being too loud. Batgirl might just be the perfect sports model. If you have a larger wrist, the Starbucks is a very close second in my opinion. Wear it in good health.
Thank you!!!! You pretty much summed up the reason why I’ve started doing these videos and channel in a few sentences. I got tired of seeing the same types of videos on watches that just went on and on about specs, and had those clips of the watch on a desk surrounded with random objects and perfect lighting with up close detailed macro shots. These watches aren’t meant for desk diving and delicate admiration. They’re meant to actually be worn and taken out into the world. I wanted to take shots of how they look in actual real world lighting, in difference situations, with different occasions that anyone watching these videos may do (going to a wedding, traveling with them, how it’s gonna look with business casual clothes, etc.). So thank you for noticing that and commenting on it. I really appreciate it. It means a lot. And yes I agree as far as the whole fit of the gmt compared to the sub. The batgirl overall just fits so much better than my sub and being that I have a smaller wrist (6.3in) I find myself wearing my gmt more often than my sub. Pepsi is iconic but in my opinion that’s is its only draw over the Batgirl. Pure aesthetics Batgirl is perfection. Also, it makes more sense for GMT function with Blue being for day and Black for night.
I own both the blue dial Datejust 41 and the Daytona Panda…and on any given day I choose to wear my Batgirl. For all the reasons you mentioned..and because it just ‘feels’ better.
That said I choose to wear my Casio Oceanic when traveling to large metropolitan areas both here and overseas because we live in a dangerous world where watch theft is far to tragically common.
Sounds like a great collection! And yea I agree, traveling with a timepiece is risky for sure. I try my best to lay low and wear it with long sleeves so it isn’t too obvious. I don’t go to bars or clubs where there’s large groups of people. Sounds paranoid but I prefer to not draw attention and just have experiences with my watches while traveling..thank you for you comment!
Currently deciding between a Datejust41 and the “Batgirl”. Thoughts on which you would pick as your first Rolex?
100% go with the batgirl. Datejust are nice but just way too common. The batgirl is functional, looks sportier, and yet will still look good with a suit or everyday wear. The datejust isn’t as versatile tbh. It a classy watch but doesn’t have that sporty edge to it

Thank you! I have a 2017 bluesy in my collection as well. The sub was my favorite for a long time because I love the blue ceramic bezel mixed with the rolesor oyster band. But now with the batgirl I tend to lean to wear this one more. The jubilee band is so comfortable, the clasp on the gmt is shorter due to the fact that it doesn’t have an adjustment system on it, and the case seems to wear a bit better that a sub for some reason. But yea, GMT over the sub all day imo. It’s a bit more practical and useful if you travel often too. Subs are a bit more common nowadays as well. But at the end of the day it comes down to preference. Try both on and see what you like, buy what you like, and you won’t regret it! I’ll be doing a video on my sub soon! Thank you for commenting!

Gray. The AD told me it was going to be like 2-5 year wait…and that was like a year and half ago with nothing coming up between that like a sub or explorer. Got tired of waiting and being given empty promises

Ah good it’s not just me. I feel the same. I have a Daytona ceramic black face and I struggle to glance and see the time. I have to inspect it to work it out as so much on the face. When I wear my vintage sub or my batgirl a prefer it a quick glance and it’s clear and easy to see the time. Maybe I will sell the Daytona or set ex it and get a Pepsi alongside the batgirl
The sub and the gmt are the best to quickly tell the time by far. Couldn’t agree more

Explorer II has polished sides of the case but, yes, it is more sporty. At least the polar. The black dial explorer II is more flashy with the hour markers and what not looking like a gmt or sub. With that said, I wear my polar explorer much more than my Pepsi or Kermit.
Yea the explorer definitely has a sportier look to it. I guess the watch overall isn’t as flashy as some like a pepsi or Kermit but I guess it just comes down to preference or overall look that you want when wearing the watch

Yea the batgirl is perfect balance of sporty appearance of the case/bezel, and class with the jubilee band.

it’s a decent watch.
The Rootbeer is the best GMT master II. The only thing better on the batgirl is the jubilee bracelet (but that is really a question of taste and how hairy is your arm).
The Skydweller is the only other GMT Rolex offers.
I love the rootbeer! The price of it is so easily justifiable being that it has rose gold, but I can definitely see that model being released on a jubilee and it would give it the trophy of being the best overall GMT Rolex has to offer. I appreciate the horology in the skydweller but for me the design and wearability of the watch really irk me. It’s just too massive
Rootbeer is a beautiful watch. However, with GMT II being my favorite watch in the Rolex line up and out of any manufacturer for that matter I want to wear it daily. So for me stainless and gold is a little too flashy for everyday. Blue is also my favorite color so for me BLNR on jubilee is perfection!

It's all in the eye of the beholder. I for one love the sprite on jubilee because i love green bezels
