Why The Premier League Spending Cap Is A SCAM | New PSR Rules | Sky Sports Football

  • Premier League clubs have voted in favour of developing plans to introduce a spending cap in their newly set out PSR rules. This came shortly after a meeting between the top flights 20 members, which saw 16 Premier League clubs give their seal of approval towards the motion. Although the idea looks great on paper, the reality of the situation is much darker, and this video details why it will benefit the big 6 of Chelsea, Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham while being hugely damaging to the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest moving forward.

So basically any club that dare try and break apart the established "big 6" will find themselves in a world of financial trouble. The Premier League is a joke!

It should be an absolute value, not a percentage. £250m a year maximum for players transfers and wages. Level playing field. If the top 6 don't like it, then welcome the the world of the "bottom 14"!

If the Big 6 did leave, after a season they would be begging to get back into the Premier League as they will be fed up with constantly playing the same teams Season in and Season out it would be truly boring for the fans too and they would also be charged a premium for doing so too! They wouldn't have the revenue from the Champions League either due to not being subject to the qualification rules either and nor will any of the other teams that joined the new Super League therefore they would never benefit from it as even if they were allowed to join the Champions League the only 4 Teams would be in it out of all the clubs that currently enter every season therefore the bulk of them would actually miss out on the extra revenue! Now wouldn't that be a dreadful shame for the greedy little blighters??? Do you not agree Uti? I just think it couldn't happen to more deserving and ultimately the most greedy clubs!

Back at the formation of the Premier league the EFL should have said go right ahead but don't expect to have any relegation or promotions from our league.

Another good vid Uti. I hated the idea of the superleague at the time, but now, like you, I wish the big 6 would take their cash, self entitlement and arrogance and piss off and do it. They can take all the shit Refs and dodgy VAR operators with them.

As a Gooner, I'd hate the idea of Arsenal going into a European Super League.
There is no history with any of those teams.
There is nothing like playing against your locals in the local derby.
There is nothing like playing away to a small club in the 3rd round of the FA Cup on a cold and wet January day.
There is nothing like travelling by road or rail across country to watch matches. You normally take the same route so you get to know where to stop off on the way up and on the way back. You know the pubs to go into and the ones to avoid.
It all adds up to the history of those games. Not just the game itself, but everything that leads up to kick off when you wake up in the morning, then the game and the journey back home and into your local for last orders.

The rules we have right now obviously ain't great but the spending cap rule is just going to keep the status quo I'm so glad my club took a stand to vote against it. It's a shame others didn't see it the same way, yes the rules need changing at the very least to the rules in League Two if not anything else but the spending cap rule is just going to keep the Sky 6 high in the table whilst punishing clubs trying to keep up to them.
