It hit hard when it’s just Goku saying goodbye, then doubly hard when it ended up being TFS saying goodbye to DBZA. And now with Toriyama gone it’s one final farewell.
Yea. And it's like a hidden tribute to him that on Gohan's transformation they super impose the bird over him snapping.

And I believe that was a line out of frustration, since Goku alive would have been his only chance to have a fight with someone worthy. Gohan is stronger, but too nice.

This last three-parter is an absolute masterclass in how to write a show. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and feels perfectly balanced all the way through. I have legitimately never seen a series that ends as cleanly as this. Years of watching left me shattered for quite a while, and I could never get tired of watching it again and again. It always hits the same. Also, a little bit at the end that doesn't get caught a lot is them showing Android 16 with a halo, implying he had a soul the whole time. There is a little bit left to the series as well, Kai abridged, the Epilogue, and the Buu Bits are all excellent, with Buu Bits being quite new.
And that's DBZ Abridged. It was hilarious, and we'll always quote everything they said.

This series and the reactions were a masterpiece. My fav moment was just the fact that even in the real one android 16 just dies. As cell said " we both know he never had a soul".
But in this they included the art of android 16 sitting in heaven with a halo showing he really did have a soul.
Pretty sure it was also a ginger joke too!
After Toriyama passed, I can not stop crying after this episode. It's the first time I've watched it since he passed and it honored him beautifully.
That final goodbye speech from Goku is such a double whammy now. Both because it was an accidentally perfect farewell to DBZA proper since they hadn't actually decided to call it quits yet when they wrote it but it still fit perfectly and now it's also a perfect farewell to Toriyama as well.
It’s kinda a double Uno reverse because when they wrote it they hadn’t decided for sure if they were stopping DBZA so they wrote it as a send off, then they decided they would continue, then they got so burnt out trying to do Bojack that they changed their minds and stopped.
I love how Goku says he's never been afraid of changes.
After the epilogue, ya'l should definitely watch the Buu Bits compilation. Thats the last little send off by TFS for DBZ
Comedies are the best at giving us dramatic moments. When you're laughing throughout a show or movie and it suddenly takes that turn, it hits so much harder. I love that they took the joke of "Bye Son" and turned it into a sweet moment both when Goku disappeared with Cell and when Goku says "Bye Sons" in this part. It's been a great ride, and I've loved watching along with y'all
Like with Blackadder Goes Forth at the end where they go over the top.
Lot of people don't get this but at the end when 18 show's up at Kame house and Krillin drop's his pant's there are 2 thuds one his pants and the other well guessing you can figure it out. Combine that with the fact he states he's a grower we now know where all that lost height went
A lifetime of taking Ls gave him everything he needed for his biggest W.
I love Vegeta yelling MY BABY BOY and cell singing in his last moments he did do it his way

The creators really nailed it with the ending. Their love for the IP is showing throughout the entire series.

It is something that no matter how much Krillin got owned in the series, he's the /only/ human member of the Z-fighters to get married and have a child. At least that we know of.

The worst thing is all the credit, the fame and the millions, went to Mister Satan for being the one who supposedly killed Cell. Then this comes the saga of Majin Bu. It's crazy, I hope you see it too.
Glad this series made you guys have the feels. DBZA is a love letter to Dragon Ball Z with all it's highs and lows (making fun and joking about some silly or small plot holes of the series)

The earth dragon being unable to bring back someone more than once isn't a new twist - for example, it's why Krillin didn't get wished back when everyone else on Namek did, and had to get wished back three months later on Earth. They still could have brought Goku back with the Namek dragon, the reason they didn't is that he asked them not to.
you still got the dbz-KAI- abridged episodes 3.0 and 3.5, maybe some movies you missed, and HIFL (the first episode even was in the annotations at the end @30:03 :P)

That final thud though when Kuririn drops his pants. Seems he has a third leg to stand on :D
15:25 Mr Saten is the ture hero of this whole thing.
In both the og and the abridged version, he knows hes a fraud, he knows full well what happened and that "the kid" was the real hero, however the WORLD knows and trusts Satan. Some kid they dont know about deleting the bug man would hold almost no weight and likely make it worse. So, Satan taking the hit keeps Gohan safe, keeps rhe world calm and Satan keeps up the lie.
The ending being super emotional makes more sense with the context of how long the series went on for.
From the 1st episode to the last I think 7 or 8 years passed, the conversation between Gohan and Goku about him not coming back was also a conversation between TFS and the viewers about DBZA not coming back.
We'd been getting hyped for new episodes for years at that point, it felt super weird to not have that to look forward to anymore, a sense of community had formed around the show, we'd rewatch it once in a while, quote random jokes from the show, etc, always looking forward to the next episode. And for TFS it felt even weirder because it was their main project for so long, it was what blew them up, and how they met several of their friends.
A long-winded emotional goodbye felt extremely appropriate.

There is another saga in Dragon Ball Z after this. After that there is also Dragon Ball Super. So there's a lot more Dragon Ball still left if you guys ever wanted to continue the journey at any point. Love you guys!
You should definetly watch the “DBZA buu bits full compilation” next!!
I highly recommend Buu Bits (shortened version of the Buu Saga), Dragon Shorts, Home For Infinite Loosers (HFIL), and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged also by Team Four Star.
The Krillin owned count will be going to -39 soon lol. This abridged show started more than a decade ago with myspace jokes, Goku saying "what" a lot, a farmer losing his "carrot patch" and Krillin getting slapped through Kame house and ended like this. They really came a long way in those years. I think there is just the epilogue, the shortz, HiFl and the Buu bits left at this point.
If you're still interested in checking out abridged shows, can I recommend Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged (YGOTAS) by Little Kuriboh? It was the first real abridged show and is a bit rough at the start, but I think it's well worth the watch. Much like the DBZA crew, you get quite attached to everyone somehow. Little Kuriboh does most of the voices by himself until much later in the show which shows how good a VA he is. Little Kuriboh voiced Frieza and the narrator in DBZA.
Hellsing Abridged time! You guys will love it. ❤

Goku staying dead is cannon to the Cell arc. He chose to stay dead at that time.
Your reactions to these have been so awesome! I love the Chels went from hating Goku to crying about his death. Goku is very dumb in this depiction but he still keeps his bravery and strength to the right thing like in the actual show. One thing that is great about this story from the Saiyan Saga to Cell Saga is it tells the story of Goku’s roots but also sets the table for Gohan to be the hero. Great, longform storytelling. Not sure if you be down to do it but would be awesome if you reacted to the Bojack movie which happens after Cell is beaten.
This series is so special to me. As a kid DBZ was the first anime I ever saw (aside from Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh, but those were still “kids” shows, and DBZ felt impossibly intense and exciting for a cartoon), and I have great memories of it. I never caught the entire run, but I remember seeing parts of it from the Frieza saga to the Buu saga. And it always just captured my imagination as the coolest show ever. It wasnt until I rented one of the games and then DBZ Kai was broadcast on Nickelodeon that I was able to experience it again.
But since then, my love for DBZ had lain mostly dormant for yeeeeeears. It was DBZA that reawakened it with a fury, and gave me an even greater appreciation for the story, characters, and everything Toriyama has made.
It's thanks to DBZA that I've now watched the entire show, become an even bigger fan of Toriyama, and have even started reading the original Dragon Ball manga in Japanese for study/practice.
It's pretty wild that a manga series from the 80’s could still be so beloved and well known 30+ years later around the whole world.
You guys are gonna LOVE the DragonShortZs, HFIL episodes and of course the Buu Bits! I'm super excited to see y'alls reaction. Don't forget the epilogue episode as well with Trunks going back!
Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys reacting to the whole abridged series, well done 😄 If you by any chance consider giving another abridged show a chance, TeamFourStar (the ones behind DBZ Abriged) also did an abridged version of Hellsing Ultimate, which imho happens to be quite a fun time with a sassy vampire, loads of darker humor with plenty of innuendos, highly recommended 👌

Ever since the series ended and reaction content exploded, I've enjoyed watching people react to the series as they experience it for the first time. Whether they watched the original show or not, whatever their background might be, it's always fun to see how people react to the series as a whole as well as individual moments.
Your reaction to the finale here is my favorite that I've seen, hands down. You both laughed where I laughed, cried where I cried, and found your own personal meanings throughout just like I did.
But most of all, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It started as "haha funny memes and also these tropes of the show turned up a notch or five," and by the end it was a love letter to the original. I look forward to your last couple reactions on this, and what else you'll have going on after that. :3

If you guys haven’t watched the original DBZ I suggest picking some of your favourite parts out and watching the original versions - such as Goku freiza, cell vs gohan - you would be surprised at on some of the voices
Also make sure you watch the Buu Bits team 4 star one, it’s the buu saga but they didn’t go ahead and complete it so it’s a bunch of shorts

-The Cell Juniors were all named after the different Cell voice actors. Minus Vegeta Jr. of course.
-You actually still have a bit of TFS content left. For DBZA you have 18 videos left, which I listed below. Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is also made by the same people.
-King Kai's planet is actually not Heaven. So when Cell blew up he only destroyed King Kai's planet.

I would suggest watching Buu Bits last after watching the actual series through. Since it's only certain bits of The Buu Saga it will make alot more sense with knowledge of the OG show.

Being real… You wouldn’t be a good detective. We’ve only watched the first 2 seasons of the original DragonBall Z and are only halfway through playing the Vegeta saga on DragonBall Z: Kakarot. So every single one of these DBZA reactions are as blind and real as we can get.
What’s even funnier to us is that you are the first person to say one of us has watched the original already. Anyone who has complained has had issues that we haven’t watched the original before this. 😂
