30:20 technically this whole segment takes place after all of DB Super. The Super manga still going, which is why when Bumla asked if they beat Frieza again, Goku answers "Probably" because the manga hasn't settled that plot line yet.
This. There's a time skip of a few years after Buu but right before Z ends. Super takes place during this time skip, making it *technically* take place during Z, not after.
Yeah, since GT isn't canon (still last time I checked), end of DBZ is still the end of the Dragon Ball timeline.

Yeah, and that the only reason he broke his voice on Namek was because he was trying to hold a scream at a pitch his voice wasn’t used to. Can attest from some karaoke nights that this is definitely possible.

The tall, fit Buu you saw is called Super Buu. He's the evil half of Buu that split from the Good Buu and then reabsorbed the Good Buu, but this time with him being in control. Super Buu later goes on to absorb Gotenks, Piccolo, and Gohan which is why you see him in different outfits in every clip.

yo, Kyle, here's a fun fact: in the original when Sean Schemmel, the OG voice actor for Goku, was gonna do the scream for the Super Saiyan 3 transformation, he actually lost his voice after the scene was over. and in the GT when he was transforming into Super Saiyan 4, Sean Schemmel screamed so much that he dropped to the floor unconscious. now that's dedication to your craft. :)

@@gokussj6727 He's not a bad person. He just compares unfavourably to Sabat when it comes to supporting fan content. Sabat goes to bat for fan stuff, respects and participates in it. Schemmel doesn't. It's not that it makes Schemmel a bad person. He just doesn't want to compromise his own position. Reminder, Toei absolutely flip their shit over DBZA at every opportunity and *really* don't like acknowledgement of them by official cast and crew.
Plus... I mean, Sabat is cool with it, but I can understand not liking someone else effectively doing your job and some people say they're better at it than you are. That's got to hurt the pride. Especially when, as other people in these comments note, he did himself genuine injury giving absolutely everything he had for his performance.
@@flux_casey It's probably more about how much Schemmel thinks he owns the Goku role that conventions have to deliberately schedule other Goku voice actors around Schemmel's appearances. Schemmel thinks that he is Goku, and nobody else can have that role. That's his biggest issue.

Vegeta didn't technically "blow himself up", he just used ALL of his energy. Since Ki is life energy, you can keep using it beyond your limit at the cost of actually harming yourself and draining your life, like using your Health Bar to cast after your Mana Bar is empty. Vegeta used ALL of it, his entire life force, and it left him as a dead, stone-like husk.
Someone might have already mentioned it, but the witch is Fortuneteller Baba, master roshi's older sister. She's a character that was introduced in dragon ball who doesn't show up much in dragon ball z. But in the Buu arc she was able to get Goku back to the living world for one day, which is why he has a halo since he's still technically dead.
King Yemma kept Vegeta's soul after he died incase the Buu situation got any worst, thats why he could come back to Earth in order to stop buu. In order for Goku to come back to Earth, Elder Supreme Kai gave the rest of his life energy to Goku, basically Elder Kai just stole Goku's Halo. Goku was originally going to fuse with Gohan, until Buu asorbed Gohan, transforming himself into Buuhan. At first Vegeta refused to fused with Goku, until Goku told Vegeta that Buu ate Bulma and trunks. Buuhan caught Vegeto off guard and asorbed him. When Vegeto got asorbed by Buuhan, they defused while in Buuhan's body. While in there, Goku and Vegeta manage to get Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Piccolo out of Buuhan since Buu keeps certain people he asorbed in his body, Fat Buu was there too. (After Satan got shot by some low life, same low life that shot that dog who's all right btw thanks to buu's magic. Fat Buu heals Satan and Buu snaps, with all the evil coming out of him. The evil from Fat Buu creates Evil Buu. Evil Buu turns Fat Buu into chocolate and ate him, transforming Evil Buu into Super Buu.) When Fat Buu got disconnected from Buuhan, Buuhan transformed into Kid Buu, since Fat Buu was the only thing keeping him from being an emotionless killing machine (when Kid Buu asorbed the Grand Supreme Kai long ago, he transformed into Fat Buu, making Fat Buu less of an emotionless killing machine in comparison.) While on the Supreme Kais planet, Satan tries to fend off kid Buu since he's so full of himself. Before Kid Buu manages to hurt Satan, Fat Buu comes out of Kid Buu in order to save Satan. While the buus are fighting, Goku tries to get enough energy to use the spirit bomb, but the people of Earth aren't believing it since they think it's one of Babidi's tricks. Since you don't know, Fat Buu killed Babidi after Goku went back to other world since he was only allowed on Earth for one day. So Satan had to lie to the Earth in order to save it. After Kid Buu was destroyed, Fat Buu was spared thanks to Satan, and they hid Fat Buu until they could use the Dragon Ball again to make the Earth forget about the Buu nonsense. Before the 10-year time skip, Goku used the dragon balls to reincarnate kid buu into Uub, so that Goku could fight Uub in the world tournament, with that Goku kidnaps Uub and they fly away from the tournament, ending the Dragon Ball manga.
This is why I recommend you and Kirby watching Dragon Ball Z Kai once you two are done with abridged.

Yep, while you can't really play Heroes anymore to see her, she is also a recurring villain in the Xenoverse games, essentially functioning as the main antagonist in it, being the one jumping through time to mess with things that your Time Patroller character has to fix.

Buu saga is in my opinion the perfect encapsulation of anything and everything dragon ball. It’s greatest strengths and it’s weaknesses on full display.
Characters you WANT to be important ultimately being fodder, the greatest screams in the franchise, some of the most famous fights, and in my opinion although the continued issue of the main character of the arc not being apart of the finale fight, Gohan is in my opinion the best main character in all of Dragon ball. Unlike Goku and Vegeta,
Gohan NEVER stops caring about the world he lives in and is completely invested in it. But because he’s so focused on living, his role in protecting it is always in question. Making it mean THAT much more when he does make that decision. While it’s a shame Toriyama was never comfortable writing for him, in the hands of new writers, Gohan is in my opinion the way to truly bring Dragon ball to its highest heights. Because he cares SO MUCH that he wants to AVOID the dragon balls being necessary, meanwhile Goku and Vegeta are so above consequences they can no longer care less by this point. And it’s up to Gohan to come to a single conclusion. His dad and his “uncle” are FAILURES at guardians and he has to match them so they can’t put everyone in mortal danger every arc.

To be fair I believe Marron is French for chestnut. Kuri as in Kuririn is Japanese for chestnut. I don’t remember if Toriyama forgot about Maron or if she was anime only, he forgets enough that it could go either way, but he named Marron after Krillin.

Master Roshi's sister can bring the dead back to life for 24 hours. She did this when they first met her. In order to ask her a question you either have to pay her a lot of money or defeat her five fighters in one-on-one combat, although she will sometimes allow two on one. If she doesn't have enough fighters she will get someone in from the afterlife to fill the slot.
This didn't come up too much in DBZ until the Buu saga when she brought Goku and later Vegeta back to life. She even brought someone worse than Vegeta back to life much later. That's why you sometimes see characters with halos among the living.

The witch is Baba, Roshi´s sister. For an exorbitant fee she tells you any location of something you seek but also can revive you temporarily. She´s mainly Dragonball but appeared in DBZ early on so people can watch a fight through her crystal ball like when Vegeta and Nappa arrived and during Buu bring Goku back for a day to fight in the tournament. That´s why there´s still a halo over his head.

And when I say one day, I mean 24 hours out of their entire after life. She also has to get King Yama's approval to use this power. King Yama is the guy with the mahogany desk in the abridged. So when you see Goku or Vegeta in this video on Earth with a halo over their head, it's cause of her.
7:08 The reason Krillin's daughter and ex girlfriend share the same name is because of a play on words. Krillin, or however it was spelled and pronounced in Japanese, means chestnut in Japanese. Marron is French for chestnut. The reason they reused the name for both characters is because Krillin's ex is a filler character, so they gave her the name Marron before the original creator of DBZ created Krillin's daughter, and gave her the same name.

As for how the energy got transferred to Buu during the beatdown; the short answer is literally magic.

But depending on who Buu absorbs, it can heavily influence his look and personality. Fat Buu is the result of him eating a fat Supreme Kai. 25:22 he's wearing Gotenk's vest cause he absorbed Gotenks. 26:28 he's wearing Gohan's shirt cause he absorbed Gohan. And the reason there's two of them is because Fat Buu creating a second more evil version of himself by accident when he got angry about the dog and Mr. Satan getting shot. The second Buu ate the Fat Buu, and that's the tall pink one we see at 24:44. Vegeto (Goku/Vegeta fusion) was able to get Gotenks and Gohan out, and separated Fat Buu from him as well, and for some reason that turned him into Kid Buu, instead of the Buu that we saw ate Fat Buu in the first place. Kid Buu blew up the Earth, along with Gohan and Gotenks, and Goku used instant transmission on himself, Vegeta, Dende, and Mr. Satan to the Supreme Kai planet. Fat Buu hitched a ride with Kid Buu when he followed with his own teleport. And the reason Earth and all it's people are back in the next clip; Supreme Kai teleported with Dende to Namek to use their Dragon Balls to bring back Earth and everyone on it while Goku was fighting Kid Buu. This is about as close to a TL;DR as I can manage for this. I'm leaving a bunch of details out to keep it simple. If anything is confusing here, just ask.
28:19 He was under the whole 24 hour, come back from the dead pass that Goku was using earlier. For some reason people can apparently still bleed when they are a spirit. The blood is gone because when Dende brought back everyone good who was killed since Buu showed up, Vegeta was included. Being brought back from the dead healed his injuries. Or at least I think that's how he got healed. It might've been Dende who healed him, I forgot.
