Or get the pin just started, push down the spring w finger, insert an Allen wrench or screw driver from the other side to hold spring and line all up, tap pin w hammer. Found this method on CZcams, prior to that was on a one way struggle bus.
I have the orange six days frame 2023 and when I swapped foot pegs the spring completely removed the powder coating on the frame pretty disappointing brand new bike

in that case you certainly don't need the ktm tool just use a 3/8 ratchet extension with the ratchet on the end and push down

I just push the spring in with my thumb and hold it while I push the pin through, greased up it slide easy, no banging required
Ive done that before, but not trying to push with my thumb 20 times a day, and not trying to grease 20 pins a day either. Banging works fantastic.
