- wow fam, it's been a minute. I hope everyone is doing well and is safe and healthy.
ALSO pls excuse the coughing and throat clearing LOL I was sick when I recorded this set..
Honestly, life has been really fast for me these days. I've been so busy and so many changes have been happening in my life that I need to get adjusted to, still. New doors, new opportunities, new relationships, new friends, new experiences, new decisions, etc. And as I'm here, I'm finding myself not spending as much time in His presence as I would like to. In the midst of this, I feel so much guilt that I'm not giving my all to Jesus as I know I can and as I know I should. But everyday, I feel myself longing to be with Him and longing to set apart my undivided devotion to the Lord. I'll have a long day and the moment I just step away from the chaos to read the Word or sit with Him, I am reminded of why Jesus is my everything. He is all I need and all I want, I long for only Him. He calms my heart, He protects my every step, He goes before me, He reassures me, He reminds me of how much He loves me through the cross, He comforts me, He heals me, He reveals to me wounds that He is ready to redeem, He cares for me, and He knows me. All I need and my heart, my truest intentions. There is no one else like Him.
I am longing to be faithful and longing to be close to Jesus. But my flesh is SO WEAK and I find myself failing Him over and over again. When new decisions come my way I'm honestly so afraid of making the wrong choice because I want to please Him so much. I don't want to disappoint God and yet all of my mistakes would surely disappoint Him.
And YET, every time I come back into His presence, He is the same. He is consistent and still meets me where I am and is so kind to me. Why are you so kind to me, Jesus? I am slowly learning that the Lord pursues me and chases after me much more than I ever could Him. That it's not my efforts and correct choices that sustain our relationship but it's His immeasurable grace and the cross that sustains my relationship with God. I'm really not used to this because growing up, I had a lot of people abandon me or leave me & I always thought I had to be better in order for people to stay. Yet God's love is breaking down my preconceptions of broken & transactional love.
So this set is just my heartfelt desire to worship Him and say that He is the one I love most. More than anything or anyone in my life. Me stepping away into the place I love to be in most, with Jesus, at His feet.
The Christian walk is hard and I fail Him over and over again. I'm so broken and a sinner, but what an encouragement it is that Jesus never asks us for perfection. What a grace that He has freed us from our bondage to sin because of that Cross and that we have access to intimacy with Christ. Thank you Jesus for loving me and being so kind to me. For redeeming my misconceptions and healing my wounds with your love. All I want is to be faithful to you, abide in you, and make you proud :) I love you, Jesus.
