Big plot hole with this film: Did his wife & kids have no photos of him when he was 17? There are photos in our house of my parent's when they were in high school, yet none of them seem to realize that he looks like a younger version of their husband/father.
I could recommend the new Trailer for all quiet on the Western Front for your next reaction. Maybe getting an Oscar next year.
Loved this movie as a kid. Got me into a certain niche of videoz! "Whatre you doing step bro?!?"
I do food reviews while I’m hïgh on my CZcams channel 😮
Reel rejects do a movie reaction to the high school musical franchise!!!🏀❤😊👍
The scene in the courtroom with Zac Efron reading the letter is so emotional. Great acting from him.
Favorite scene fr
It makes me friggin cry EVERY time.
@@raidenvaneck1842 It really did
@@raidenvaneck1842 he cant
💀💀
17 again is honestly underrated its too funny
Same here. I love it
I know right
This movie is one of those underrated hidden gems. I think I randomly caught it on TV years ago and kind of fell in love with it
Same. I watched it on Netflix once and I loved it
I saw it randomly on HBO a few years ago.
Same!
why do i feel that ned is the main character in this movie ?
it reminds me of srk's diary scene from kal ho na ho
This movie is a classic and one of Zac Efron’s best movies
Yes, although I think Charlie St. Cloud is up there as well. And also another hidden gem.
@@pduidesign Yes!
@pduidesign oh yes that's wasso cute as well❤
Greg, you are a treasure. I haven’t seen this movie in years and seeing how much you enjoyed it made me love it all over again. Zac Efron is incredible and really should be in more films…a real talent. And Leslie Mann remains a favorite comedic actress of mine. She complements every actor she plays with.
RIP Matthew Perry. This movie was actually the first thing I saw of his, as I saw this movie before I ever watched _Friends_
I am delightfully surprised by this reaction. I have honestly never seen anyone react to this film and really appreciate it the way you did. People watch this and see the tropes and Zac Efron rehashing his "cool basketball high schooler" character from High School Musical and that's it, but I've always really enjoyed the story the way you did. The scene where "Marc" is talking to his daughter after she's dumped, I genuinely felt like I was watching a dad talk to his daughter after her heart was broken. And to his credit, Zac Efron put A LOT of work into this role, practicing Matthew Perry's mannerisms and speech patterns to get it right. I agree that a lot of HSM hate came for this movie which is a shame. So glad to see you enjoyed it!
Yes I see some other reactors saying how gross it is, and they keep reacting disgusted at Zacs displays of affections of awkwardness... it's kinda sad they cant see the heart and realness this film has. Such a great reaction here
I'm loving how random the movie choices are.. like I'm going "oh yeah! I remember liking that film too" when you have a film to react that's not recent
Right? There's a few that are recommended to everyone. (Shawshank, Green Mile being two of them)
They're great movies but there's so many that are unwatched.
One of my personal favorite thriller/horror movies is Frailty. A movie most people have never seen.
@@BrandonWestfall ohhhh yooo! I saw that on theaters back when I was young, I think same time as The One with Jet Li, Frailty definitely was a phenomenal thriller, you remember a film called Identity???
@@BrandonWestfall3
i really wasn't a zac efron fan. but when i watched this movie, he impressed me. he was so natural in his acting & this movie was fun. i especially loved how zac displayed matthew perry's mannerism but in such a subtle way. and leslie mann being the wife/mom was perfect. i love her. and recognizing mike right away (while drunk) was a nice touch in making her finally realizing it's her husband at the end more believable. i think it was really well written & the cast did a great job in fleshing out characters that could've felt too caricatured.
This was the film that made me a Zac Efron fan. He is actually a very talented actor.
i think the greatest opportunity found here is to do a high school musical watch along series!! they’re so good, zac shines in his disney era glory
I LOVE the HSM trilogy!
I might actually lol
@@ReelRejects They're a lot cheesier than 17 Again, but if you approach it with the same pure-hearted sense of joy I think you can handle it! 🥰
Hairspray too! I think he absolutely eats up his role as Link although the movie is a lot heavier
I’m so happy you liked this. There’s a K-Drama called 18 Again based on this movie that is also really strong and develops all the characters and relationships even more. If that’s your thing I recommend checking it out.
I'm gonna check it out too, it sounds good!
The Korean version good too. They stretched out the movie and added some new scenes.
The title is acutally the same for both movies. In Korea you’re born at age 1 instead of 0
I totally forgot about this movie and rewatched this after being reminded about it through 18 Again and I’m glad that the kdrama fid this so much justice and even extended it and added more layers to the characters.
Ya i love the k-drama too. It's so emotional.
That line when Ned cleans up the entryway and he says something like "...and we are done... with this section" pops into my head every time I have a big mess to clean up. 🤣 I gotta watch this again soon.
Love this movie, it’s basically a classic
I love that Zac and Leslie had actual chemistry as well
I think my favorite thing about this movie is we didn’t have to wait until the end of the movie for him to realize he needs to be there for his kids. After the first day he already got that and did exactly that. It just goes to show he really does love them just didn’t go about getting to know them the right way
I’m soooo happy! Thank you for sharing your viewing, it warmed my cold 2022 post pandemic heart. I most sincerely happy that you enjoyed this very underrated movie. AND I knew from the beginning that you were cry/laughing about the elvish stuff, so much fun!
This movie is just one of those comfort films for me. My mom and I would always get popcorn and watch it when it came on TV. There are not enough reactions to this movie!! Glad you enjoyed it man.
This is why I love this channel so much, your reactions are so genuine and it’s cause of how you guys are. This reaction made my day tbh.
I LOVE the High School Musical trilogy and I think it’s funny how Zac Efron plays basketball in HSM and this movie.
Also 2:50: We’re all in this together.
Saw this movie when it came out and have to see it at least twice a year because of how good it is. Loved your reaction
Dude I swear you’ve been reacting to some of my favorite movies lately. Nice!
this movie is soooooo sweet and zac efron proved his stardom for sure i remember when it came out being so impressed by him
Grew up on High School Musical and this film. Loved it since then. Rewatched most recently sometime last year. Agree with you wholeheartedly on Rotten Tomatoes’ trash rating lmao. So rewarding to see you react to a movie I love so much.
I seriously wished they made a sequel so we can see the aftermath of Ned's relationship with the principle of his son that clearly went missing during a basketball game. Hahaha.
Or how his sons new best friend just left him in a single second.
Loved this! One of my favorite movies ❤ Now you gotta watch Charlie St. Cloud w/ Zac Efron. He's amazing in it and its so emotionally driven
This is a movie I watch like once every few years. I bought it in the bargain bin at a Walmart and thought it was hilarious yet emotional at times. Efron kills it in this movie!
2:39 The way he doesn’t hesitate like his future career aint shit always makes me tear up. This movie is such a Masterpiece
My favorite part is after Maggie hits on him and leaves, he stands there, stunned, and says, Sweet Baby Jesus. The whole theater cracked up.
Honestly, no matter what others say, this is Zac Efron's *BEST* Movie Performance
Oh god…you haven’t seen Charlie St. Cloud, have you 👀 That film will tear you apart
This one is one of my favorite Efron films. Loved it since I was little.
This is one of the movies that I never imagined I'd enjoy, and turns out I've seen it more times than I can count because of how funny and charming it is. Fantastic cast and incredibly re-watchable 😁
When you have the wit and sarcasm of Mathew Perry, not a bad deal.
I remember seeing this when it came out but I was only a child and was only watching it for zac efron if I’m being honest so I didn’t fully grasp the idea of the film but looking back damn you are right it’s such a sweet heartwarming film nearly brought me to tears. now that I understand the meaning of this film. Also zac is an incredible actor and it sucks that he gets the “heartthrob” treatment where one series of films he did as a teen have not only defined his career but has at times made people turn away from him.We need to get out of that mindset because I mean look a pattinson he also had people downplaying his abilities because of twilight and now we see how great of an actor he is. Another zac efron movie id say that’s also very touching is Charlie St. Cloud you should check it out if you liked this one!
A week or two ago, I rewatched Charlie St. Cloud for the first time in years, and even though I knew exactly what would happen in the end, I still had tears in my eyes just from Zack's performance and the heartbreak at the decisions he had to make (as an older sister myself). I was maybe in middle school the first time I watched it and I am finishing college now, and it just felt so different watching it and just waiting for everything to come together at the end.
A movie I recommend is “Just Like Heaven” starring Mark Ruffalo and Reese WitherSpoon. ALSO, what a movie 17 again was, amazing!
Oh yes Just Like Heaven is totally worth it.
YEEEESSSSS!
GREG IS GOIN TO SOOOBB and I can't wait ☺️
“You’re still gonna turn into Matthew Perry in a few years” 😂😂😂
🤣🤣😂😂🤣
Such an underrated gem. I was in the middle of angsty teen Highschool Musical hate and this movie made me fall in love with Zack as an actor and take it easy on the hate train a lot of us were on and I have always tried to support the stuff I see him in. Seems like a great dude from interviews and stories.
I love this film a lot, so underrated.
The dinner scene is the Greatest 2 minutes in the history of Cinema. PERIOD. Seriously I cry every single time I watch just that scene. Because it is So well done that it's emotional.
I love you defending this show 🤣 it is truly brilliant in a beautiful simple way! I'm grateful I watched this with you!
Watched this movie so many times as a kid and could never understand what was so pressing that he had to run out of the basketball game and not go to university. It's not like the baby was coming right then and there 😂They had several months to figure something out. A basketball scholarship would've covered school and a part time job could've covered child care or something
It's also one of the most rewatchable films ever. I can watch it anytime anywhere.
Crying with Greg alba is my favorite thing to do
fr
This is one of my favorite movies of all time! Right up my alley and was just rewatching it the other so love that you’re doing a reaction!
This and Charlie St. Cloud are tear jerkers, damn u Mr.Effron, making men tear up hahahaha
Grew up with this movie and I'm very glad it still holds up. I absolutely love it, it's so ridiculously hilarious yet also emotional. And it feels kinda timeless which I'm glad about.
Not to mention how Zac is killing it??? At no point can you forget that he's a middle aged heartbroken dad. It's truly incredible.
I remember walking through Blockbuster as a 17 year old, and I saw this movie on the shelf and had a "haha i'm 17 so i'm gonna rent this" moment. Didn't expect to be watching such a gem.
RIP MP, this is my favorite thing he did.
You should watch High School Musical too imo! Those made up a part of our childhood some way or the other. Loved the reaction!
Just rewatched this because of your video today... RIP Matthew Perry ❤️🙏
love this movie lol was not expecting a reaction for this but so glad you did it 😂
Loved It since it came out, I actually went to the movie theater to see it and it has become a classic. It surprises me that it’s still so underrated to this day. But I’m glad you liked it!
greg 👏 please 👏 react 👏 to 👏HOUSE (1977) 👏
japanese horror comedy. changed the way i see films forever!!! literally no one has reacted to it on youtube and i need to re-experience it with those fresh eyes!!
since you're pulling out these out of nowhere movie reactions i feel it's fair to throw you a random movie like this ✊😌
Neighbors not only gave him a great comedic role but also let him be unsettling at times. Which was great to see from him.
Love this movie and the concept of it zac efron fits perfectly
this is one of my favorite zac efron movies
We need high school musical reactions :)
This was one of my favorite films growing up. It's executed so well.
I'm surprised at how well it's held up.
This is such an underrated movie, Keep up the great movie reaction videos
I had been dismissive of Zac Efron too, but he's a really good actor. Charlie St. Cloud, The Greatest Showman, The Lucky One, etc. He's got a lot of range from comedy to drama. That's why, even though, saying it out loud, it just doesn't make sense. But on paper it does ... I think he'd be a really cool Wolverine. He's got the stature, he's shown he can do the bulk, and it would fun to get to see him really go for it in berserker rages. He would be a more visually accurate representation of Wolverine.
Me and my friend when when we were younger, would watch this movie again and again and again. It was just 17 again and we loved it.
I’m a huge friends fan, and I always wanted to see this Mathew Perry movie but was too afraid it was gonna be bad. But now this makes me want to check it out! Thanks!
It brings me smiles, laughs, and tears every time I watch this movie. Zac Effron did an amazing job emulating some of Matthew Perry's mannerisms and father figures! Great stuff with Ned always a funny guy!
Zac still got those basketball moves from high school musical 💀
This movie was the classic ready player one for me. All the references to star wars, back to the future, 13 going on 30, big, and so many more made this movie for me
What!?, this was a pleasant surprise. Please keep these random movie reactions coming!
Rest in peace M. P.
I honestly loved the hell out of this movie. I remember when it came out and i still love it whenever i watch it.
This movie is heartwarming and now very nostalgic for me! I agree man
An extremely underrated movie, in terms of critics and their bullshit reviews, glad you really enjoyed this one. I would absolutely watch you watch the HSM movies. 😂
I was planning on napping during this reaction/watch along but I couldn't! This movie is too damn good and your reactions were perfectly echoing my own! Such a clever movie!!!
3:53 yes that's classic Thor in the background
i love your commentary very authentic, makes me smile when you feel your feelings :)
you tickled me with your held back giggles..🤣
This movie was severely underrated. We used to do a double showing of this and 13 going once a year. Lol.
Nice to see this was enjoyed. Thought it was just me! Definitely an underrated gem
Classic hidden gem, guilty pleasure movie. Zac efron is a really good actor.
I love how random this was. Havent seen it since a kid and its so much more emotional then I remember.
Yeah I feel you 17 again was my favorite of Mathew perry and Zac Efron
Now it’s time for you to watch the High School Musical series
I'm sure others have pointed this out - but it reminds me slightly of the film It's A Wonderful Life. It has the same theme of making people perhaps appreciate the positive aspects of their current life - or at least their potential.
Yup! Totally, especially the bridge scene
Greg, thank you. I’m really loving these random film reviews and I played this so fast because I knew you were gonna love it. When this came out I only knew Zac from his High School Musical stuff. So I had no expectations going in. By the end of the movie I fell in love with it, I laughed my ass off and I teared up. Such an underrated film, I think it’s definitely one of Zac’s best. They really did such an amazing job on a genre of a movie that could of been bad. I think it’s a classic and I never get tired of it and ages so well. Thank you again for reviewing this one, it really needs more recognition. A+ for me
I just found out that:
Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing
Thomas Lennon as Randall from Episodes: "The One in Vegas Parts 1 & 2"
Melora Hardin as Celia from Episode: "The One with the Stoned Guy"
ugh my niece loved that movie back in the day. She was such a typical late 2000s teenager loving handsome movie boys lol
I remember watching this because I was tired of scrolling and just pressed play.
I was blown away by how much I really enjoyed this.
I wasn’t expecting much at all going into it.
Loved it
Rest in peace Matthew😢😢😢😢
I enjoyed this when it came out, but being 13 years older it definitely hits a little different.
I watched it probably 10-11 years ago, loved it. Wasn't expecting it to be here. loved the reaction and review.
This is one of the most underrated feel good movies and Zac’s comedic performance here is spot on
Already love this movie, but it paired with Greg’s giddy giggle makes it even more of a delight ❤
one of my guilty pleasure movies
Omg I love your reaction! I love Matthew Perry, is the reason I watched it, 😍but I love it because of Efron.
I saw this on a whim one day and it was one of the best times I've ever had in a theater audience.
This is one of those movies you love and forget then see again and remember and wonder how you could forget. Thank you glad u watched it 🤣💖💖💖✌️and honestly after watching this again I would not be that age again for a zillion bucks, but I do wish I'd learned Elven. THAT is one of my favorite scenes 😍
Greg... thank you for such an amazing, heartfelt review of 17 Again. Watching your reaction made my day. You reminded me of why I love my job. Thank you again. J
One of my favorite movies. Thank you for reacting to it! High school musical is actually very good, and he's charming in that too.
I was a huge Zac Efron fan back then thanks to the HSM and I remember when blockbusters were closing this movie was on sale and I went ahead and bought it. still have the dvd. its become a comfort movie
It's genuinely a really funny movie. Is it perfect? No. Is it a great watch? Absolutely.
This is one of my favorite movies, actually. I loved it for all the same reasons, and I was really surprised when “18 Again” came out, which is the South Korean remake as a one-season show adaptation of the same exact story…and it was SUPER GOOD. 😮
