For eat in at a decent London Restaurant, i'd say £20 is definitely worth it especially for fish - Good value. You have a lovely Daughter
For £20 a pop, that fish should have been a lot thicker with a nice golden batter. The chips looked crispy with a good home-fried color. The dessert was a treat to the eye and so presented. The Ivy is a high-end restaurant, and not a glorified chippy so the prices reflect that.
You telling me those chips didn't look overdone?

£20 for a meal in London in a place like that I'd describe as more than reasonable, the only thing I don't like is the cleanliness of the glass as you've so rightly pointed out, everything should be A1 super clean and hygienic.

My fish and chip shop at the top of Herne Hill is my favourite. I don’t have mushy peas, or curry sauce, but ask for a large Cod, and you do get a large Cod. And if you like chips, you’re in luck because you get plenty of chips. Enjoy!
Excellent vlog! The food looked like what I would expect from a restaurant for that quality and the prices too. No excuse for putting out a dirty glass.
For London and The Ivy I think that's pretty reasonable. Bottomless chips might be a nice offer but still fairly priced. The desserts looked stunning

Looked good to me. A decent cod and chips takeaway near me is £11 so eating in at The Ivy for £20 is good value.

Very reasonable prices for the Big Smoke. Fish looked greasy, but for 20 quid, excellent value.

I started out by thinking “ ow much “ , but on watching all the video I can see the value . It’s not cheap , but in comparison to where I am in Sydney , that represented reasonable value . Any time spent with your daughter is priceless , that’s all that matters at the end of the day isn’t it .
It was so lovely to see you and Mia dining together. Even if the food wasn't up to your usual expectations, the fact that you both spent time together exceed above and beyond ❤

Being a yank I enjoy seeing what the dining scene is in my favorite country of my ancestors. I so enjoy your videos essentially these featuring food and your other channel featuring London mainly. My one question was on Mia's dessert I thought the shell is supposed to melt when the sauce is poured on. Must be a different dessert. Love seeing videos with your daughter you have such a good relationship. I sadly lost my Dad when I was 11 years old so missed him growing up.

It’s all about what you are happy with, everyone is different. Some say it’s worth it some say it’s not, having a daughter and experiencing a lovely meal isn’t always about value for money. It’s sometimes about the experience and the time spent with your daughter

Given the setting I’d say £20 is definitely a reasonable price. Most local chippies in London charge between £12-£15 for a portion of takeaway cod and chips. They even charge 70p for condiment sachets!!

£20 for fish and chips in the Ivy. Sounds decent to me, the local chippy charge £10 nowadays, appreciate that there are probably better fish shops that would provide a better meal, but you've been to the Ivy 🤷 I would take that all day long

I like The Ivy , tried a few now and some are better than others . The fish probably came straight from frier to plate which is a shame. One thing i dnt like is a busy table meaning things come separately like chips in a pot and peas in a pot , i just want it all on my plate and no faff but im a heathen lol .

Thank you for bringing your lovely girl for lunch, your meal would be even better because she was there. I like our Ivy in Edinburgh, you know you pay a bit more but it’s usually good. I like haddock myself but that’s a Scottish thing I think.😊

I like my creamy mash with mustard, garlic and black pepper, it looked okay shale slider not too bad for London.
Bit thin the fish, but £20.00 must be about the normal for london great content as usual.

And Darren part of the experience is clean cutlery and crockery 👌The chicken Mia had, I always thought Milanaise sauce was a tomato based with added ham, tongue & cooked sliced mushrooms, basically a red sauce not a white ish. And served with a fried egg almost an escalope Holstein( minus the anchovies). Sadly that fish, was tail cut,so thin almost only one side 😱🐟and far, far to greasy. Chips seemed OK and a fair portion. My overall problem is when you went to the Ivy it was spectacular, and value for the quality. But when you dilute " the brand " it's like a tribute band. They sing the same songs, but it's not the same. The deserts were pure theatre 🎉🎊🎈and seemed good enough to eat. On the start of the video it was chicken Milanaise, but you changed it to chicken mayonnaise on the outtrow. Anyway my opinion, the Ivy has let it's self slide. Allan&Family
Bit pricey for fish and chips and mushy peas but it did look nice plus you was in a restaurant so it would be a bit expensive it was nice seeing you with your Daughter Mia having family time.😊

Back in early 80s as kids we use get chips with pea wet. Use love them soaked in pea juice 👌
I don't like having dirty glasses, being a bit of a beer connoisseur, I wash my glasses in warm water, baking soda and salt 👍 I also thought the Ivy would be a lot more expensive ? The nearest to me is Manchester I think ? I'll have to give it a try.

I see they changed the Chicken Milanese back to what it used to be. Mine had salad on it. I mean I still enjoyed mine but good to know they're put it back to what it was. Shame Mia's dessert wasn't all it was cracked up to be and that the service is still a bit iffy but its still a lovely place. ❤
