- I haven't reviewed a buffet for a while and thought it was about time that I headed down to Jimmy's in Greenwich at the O2 for a bite to eat. Will it be hit or miss? Time to find out!

I would have let them know about the issues. The manager should of tasted the food and given you a refund.
These type of places get away with far to much poor quality despite the price.
Succinctly put.
Did you not hear when he said they both paid for the buffet? … At these places you usually pay when you go in even if you don’t eat anything.
That meal looks absolutely tragic. However, “borderline pointless” was a standout comment 👏👏👏

These buffets usually increase the range in the evenings, but what worries me is that at opening time the food was cold! Are they taking the prepared dishes out of the chillers and relying on the heated serving pans to slowly bring them to temperature - a recipe for food poisoning soup?

When I first watched Gary, first impressions were “just another food reviewer”
But his calm and humble manner is alluring. Now he’s become my favourite person to watch, Plus he’s actually a good food critique compared to a lot of these other channels. And as always “Let’s give it a go!”

these jack of all trades restaurants with multiple kitchens always end up disappointing, better focus on less but absolutely nail the dishes.

The curries were slurry.
The naan was all right
The mousse you'd not hurry,
But overall, it was sh*ite.
The portions were skimpy;
The sauces were cold.
Should have gone for a Wimpy,
But you've done that, we're told.
The squid was all rubbery,
And the rice looked anaemic.
Fifteen quid? That's skulduggery!

This was so funny to watch, you still try to be positive when the food is just disgusting. That was a very expensive naan and a few small desserts but everyone now knows to avoid that place at all costs and not waste your money. Great review Gary, hope you went and got yourself and the camera man something decent after ! 😊

My thoughts as you were eating was that it was from the previous day so to hear you say it confirmed it IMO. The deserts did look really good bit if you don't eat you meat you can't have any pudding lol. The very least that you expect is that the food should be warm!! Top class review as always mate btw 3/10 for the food

I'm not sure if it was intentional but your tactic of using the rice as a barrier to stop the sauces mixing was perfectly executed!

There used to be a Taybarns in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The kind of all-you-can-eat buffet where people wore their carpet slippers... I kid you not. Dreadful. Firm went bust in 2016.

I was recently in a ‘workers’ café in Becontree, to the east of London. There was a young, 20-something, woman there, sat in a (non sporting) tracksuit, with the biggest size of curlers in her hair!
Only in Britain would you see this sort of sub-culture.!

I'll always choose a lamb dish when trying out a new Indian, as I'll judge them on the quality of the lamb, where I'm looking for lean and tender meat
Even without tasting it, this lamb looked dreadful.
They reheat the leftovers probably not heated up properly 🤮 🤮

I really enjoy your videos, Gary. There are a lot of good restaurants in Glasgow and all over Scotland if you're ever up this way. Keep up the good work! Btw, as I'm sure you know, chicken tikka masala was invented in Glasgow and we've got some of the best curry houses.

There is simply no excuse for selling food that is not only awful, but hot food that isn't hot. Even looking at it, I had a feeling it was going to be poor. And the restaurant has the nerve to charge customers for that rubbish!

Food kept at the wrong temperature is also a health hazard
It's a cheap buffet experience, I dunno what you'd expect for that price. If you want quality, you pay for it, but people moan at that too lol. I personally wouldn't be seen dead in one of these
Unfortunately I struggled to find anything positive and for the first time just stopped eating as I thought the food was unacceptable
Excellent as ever. You have saved many of us on the next visit to the O2.
It’s not one I’ll recommend
Can you imagine a good eatery in the O2 or any other concert hall? The skill is in eating somewhere tasty en route to the gig. 2 exceptions though. A stunning goulash at the wonderful Union Chapel and the pasta at the Royal Albert Hall was pretty decent.
Gaucho is alright. Probably too expensive for you plebs though

Me too.. 2015 in the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh 😢 few hours after I gave birth to my little princess came something on a plate 🤷🏻♀️ not even my Scottish husband was able to figure out what "it" was. So I left 18h after my c- section with a taxi really quick back home and my German mum cooked some absolutely delicious dinner ❤

We had a whole world buffet place in Coventry called Taybarnes. Food was about the same as you described here.

Oh my word just reminded me I got taken to a taybarn near Barnsley. It was packed but the food was shocking even had baked beans😅 I ate nothing and went home hungry!
