      Right now I have a full mowing season and half of this one with the 2600. It's excellent. The only problem with it is you have to buy a lot of batteries to run it unless your just doing your own lawn, just get a five amp hour and you will be completely fine. As far as runtime goes I don't count in minutes but what I can get done with each battery I can do two quarter acre lots, regular string trimming and cleaning up the sidewalks with one 2.5 battery and four lots with the 5.
      In this video below, I used the 2600 with the one 2.5 battery to trim the property and then i switch there to the five amp hour to edge it

      With the 5.0 battery I get roughly 45 minutes of continuous use not just holding the trimmer while walking. For me that's four or five quarter acre lots and cleaning up the edges along the sidewalks.

    So, it's not technically a three-speed? It's variable speed, in three ranges? Good review. I've had my old commercial Echo PAS unit for about 28 years. I had the string trimmer and the brush cutter attachment from day one. I just bought the articulating hedge trimmer attachment for it. Expensive, but well worth the money. Wished I would have bought it 20 years ago. All of my equipment is pretty much professional even though I don't do it for a living. But then, here we are, almost three decades later with the same stuff. Looks like battery powered lawn maintenance equipment is becoming commercial use dependable.

    • @sololawnprofessional
      @sololawnprofessional  Před rokem +1

      Thank you! This has three speed ranges. The setting three I would say is the same as a gas power trimmer as far as trimmer head speed where the other two settings are much lower maximum RPM. The only real downside is you have to buy multiple batteries if you have a larger property or you do multiple lawns.

      This is the Edgit pro disc. It assists in edging sidewalks the disc doesn't cut, the trimmer lines doing the cutting. It takes a little time to get used to running it, but once you get used to it, you really can't trim without it.

      I own both of the battery powered Echo units the 2100 and 2600 comparing the two the 2600 is definitely better . The 2600 has a longer run time better performance the only downside to both of these is you really need to have the 5 .0 battery which is extra cost if you're buying the dpas unit over the dedicated 2600 which comes with it.

    • @sololawnprofessional
      @sololawnprofessional  Před rokem

      Let me give you a quick review now that I've had the trimmer for almost a year and have used it full time.
      This is an excellent trimmer. The only problem with it is you have to buy extra batteries to run it all day. You mainly see me using the 2.5 battery because it's lighter. To get the most out of the 2600 you need, the 5 amp hour battery gives you the most consistent feel in the most run time. I can do 2 quarter acre lots with the 2.5 battery if I'm being conservative and one yard if I'm not. When I go out to work now this is the trimmer I use.
      I have the 2600, 2100, 5000 chainsaw and the hand blower and you can use the 5 amp hour battery with them as well.

      Yes this thing is great. I've only used my 2620 for 1 hour in the last 4 months. The only downside with the battery powered is you need to buy multiple batteries to get a day's worth of work out of it. It took me about a month to really get used to using the string trimmer and learning how to conserve battery power.

    Only thing that bothers me is not controlling the speed of the trimmer.. I dont like the 3 cycle settings for speed! I like being in complete control of the speed as I squeeze the trigger.. still a good trimmer but thank you for the review.. @sololawnprofessional  Před rokem +2

      Thank you for your comment. I misspoke in the video about the speed settings. I'll make another video to clear that issue up.
      Compared to a gas powered unit, the three different settings setting one gets you to about half throttle even though you pull the trigger in all the way. Setting two three quarters and setting three wide open. It's completely variable. I just run the trimmer on setting three and just use the other settings for the hedge trimmer.

      I have both units the 2100 and the 2600.The 2600 is the commercial model, you get extended run time and higher level of performance with all the attachments. You can use the same two batteries the 2.5 and 5. 2600 uses a professional trimmer attachment where you get a homeowner grade model with the 2100 but they use the same speed feed 400. Let me give you a quick review. This is an excellent battery power trimmer. Plenty of power, really enjoyable to run and if you run the small battery it's light as feather but you just don't get that runtime like you do with the big battery. Overall, I think this is a better used as an attachment model over a dedicated string trimmer. One thing I like to mention is it did take me a couple weeks to get used to running the trimmer having used a gas powered trimmer for over 20 years.

      @@sololawnprofessional okay so when it breaks it breaks, I was talking about the power plant part unlike the gas you can replace it all so I was right in what I was saying. Only reason they want to push electric so they can sell new units as opposed to just parts

    • @sololawnprofessional
      @sololawnprofessional  Před rokem +1

      So the reason why they're pushing the electric is for the emissions and upcoming banning of gas powered equipment. California has banned the sale gas powered lawn mowers in the near future. I believe these Washington DC has banned gas backpack blowers. If you're in an area where you don't have to deal with this, I would stick with a gas powered and you don't need to buy all the batteries to make a run because of the battery is what you have to worry about because you need a bunch of them to run the trimmer, not just the one that comes with it. That's the main expense of the battery powered equipment.
