- This was pretty interesting in how they produced this song. The vocals mixed with the instruments was unusually will done. Give this a listen as this one is pretty interesting!
In 2002 She moved to Reykjavik to study classical and jazz music. So i can see thats why you get some sort of jazzy feel in this song.
She has done a lot of Jazz in the past. Her voice obviously gets the most attention but she is a fantastic songwriter and composer as well. I think that is the thing that puts her above her peers.

Great to see Eivor back on the channel and yourself on the mend. I haven't heard anything Eivor that I didn't like but I will say that for any given piece I almost always enjoy her live work the best. There are English versions for some of them, though in truth I feel like her lyrics best heard in he native language... sub titles would be nice sometimes..

Hello Chris! Great reaction to Eivör again! She is an excellent musician and vocalist for sure. Remember I told you my top three female vocalists? Angelina, Aurora and Eivör, in that order. This song is not 100% typical for her, but much like "Falling Free" the instrumentals and her vocals is pure magic. And like you, I love the perfect balance with the reverb. If it wasn't for the fact that it might destroy the possibility for a genuine reaction later, I would recommend that you go to Spotify and listen to her songs from the concert at Tõrshavn. The playlist is called "Live At Tõrshavn". But maybe someone else reading the comments will want to take a look. I highly recommend it.
I was really saddened to hear that you've contracted the Covid, Chris. I hope that you've been vaccinated, and that this shit will pass relatively quickly and without too much discomfort for you. What about the other members of your family? Are they good? I hope so.

Thanks Pool! Yes, I will have to check out that concert! She is really...intriguing... The whole family has the Covid now, none of us vaccinated... My youngest (Michael) that gives me the Em suggestions is already well. My oldest son and I have the worst of it. This is the first time I've ventured out of my bedroom in 3 days. It was pretty rough there for a bit. I'm able to breath normally, which is great. The fatigue is the worst. I had to force myself to come here to get away from lying down as that isn't healthy, of course. Thanks again for always popping in here to make my day all that better! Take care, brother!

She isn't especially popular amongst the general public in Faroe Islands, but she is most likely one of the most talented.

A couple things... As for the jazz in her singing, she went from folk to jazz to the more experimental "art rock" that she largely now does... Those who told you she is Norwegian know not of what they speak; she is from the Danish Faroe Islands, and had been a star in Denmark and Iceland since the early 2000s...

Regarding versatility, Eivör used to rank with Angelina Jordan - she was a jack-of-most-trades when she was younger. Eivör has, however, as she matures, gone her own way and become increasingly her original self - no covers from Eivör these days!
FYI: "Gullspunninn" would translate as "gold-spun" in English (I'm Icelandic and my Faeroese is rather limited). Hopefully some genuine Faeroese will provide a proper translation of the lyrics in the comments.
Hi Chris, that was lovely.It brought to mind some sort of epic nature movie, with an eagle soaring over mountains, and wild horses running.For me, I don't mind not knowing the lyrics to songs like this one.I just let it take me on that journey,though it would be interesting to find out as well.I have a suggestion for a reaction,if you haven't heard Neil Young's 'Old Man' song,by any chance,I think you would like it.It's live and it's just him and his guitar and the song he wrote.The youtube one is best,the one where he on stage and you see him perform.

Hey Chris! I recommend you listen to Hozier, he’s a great artist and his lyrics are always very poetic, here’s a few songs of his that I recommend: Cherry Wine, Work Song, Movement, Shrike
There is clearly an inspiration from Jazz in Eivor's music. Especially her earlier albums. For example listen to the track "Krakan" (There is no good video associated with this track so it is not a good choice for a reaction. But you find the track itself on youtube)
