My relationship with my father isn’t the best; I can’t think of any time we’ve spent together as daughter and father. Physically present, but absent in every other way. I watch and I can’t help but crave those moments, even now as I’m 20 years old, a love so pure and steady, so unashamed and unhidden. I can’t wait to shower so much love on my kids that they’ll feel my love in their dreams (Preston Perry reference).

Glad y’all are doing this. My parents went through a rough period, and my relationship with them especially my father, was torn apart. It wasn’t until recently when we really got close. We barely spoke and were always mad at each other. One day we decided to sit together with no phones or anything around and that’s when we had a breakthrough. Quality time saves relationships.
