The first line of the wyvern boss theme is “I’ve been here waiting for the longest time, I can’t believe it’s real”, this is exactly how I feel about frontiers. It feels like a dream come true after all the rocky 3D games

This video explains exactly how I feel about Sonic Frontiers, the experience, the expectations, and all of the ups and downs.
One thing I’d like to mention since I feel many people don’t seem to realize this, Sonic’s controls in cyberspace automatically revert back to Sonic Forces, they do not carry over from the open zone area, that’s why some reviewers seem to be mixed on the controls then show clips of them struggling in cyberspace not knowing the controls are different.
Cyberspace levels seem to have controls that are WORSE than Forces, somehow. (I'm saying this based on what I've seen I have never played either game)
As someone who played it, you are wrong.
They play WORSE than Forces. And it's one of the worst "bring back the unleashed style" game play I've ever played.
@@FloofPuppy I disagree, I felt Forces controlled a lot better than Unleashed and Generations, I could never make a sharp turn in Unleashed and they are a requirement.
I got used to sonic's controls, and yeah he has defs had better controls, but I will say for some reason I like his slower speed in this game. Besides making me think of the Adventure games, I can be more precise with my jumps now. However I cannot defend Sonic's turning in cyberspace, I hope they eventually make sonic turn better, that's the main thing bothering me about his controls in cyberspace. Other than that though I had fun with it

Was Alax always this delightfully off-the-wall completely insane?
one thing i absolutely love about frontiers, other than the gameplay, is the writing and story. specifically sonic interacting with literally any other character in the game. all of those interactions are writting incredibly. i love every character in the game, they are all three-dimensional characters with their own seperate aspirations, feelings, things to do, places to see.
TAILS WANTS TO BE A PERSON SEPERATE FROM "SONIC SIDEKICK" THIS GAME IS WRITTEN SO WELL I LOVE IT.
You can thank Ian Flynn for that. He's been writing for the Sonic comics for years, and fans were begging Sega to let him write for a game, and they finally did.

Frontiers made me feel like a Kid again.
Memories from when I first played SA2 flooded back into my brain and it was amazing.
The chaotic bullshit that you just speed through with ultimate fun,
all the way to the climactic bosses with a dramatic and amazing ending.
This game was a blast, and truly spectacular. 9/10.

I'm not joking when I say that Sonic Frontiers is my first Sonic game that I 100% completed. I tried to complete Sonic Heroes, but unfortunately I have it for the PS2. THE FREAKING PLAYSTATION 2.

Xbox Sonic Unleashed may be my favorite game in the franchise and I’m not just talking daytime levels. Also Sonic Heroes is goated
I’d argue Frontiers blends all of the best elements from Unleashed.
You got hubs, but these hubs are ENTIRE islands that you can boost through. Literally the Unleashed hub stages, expanded.
Then you have boost levels with great design, that let you have fun with every movement option.
Add in combat moves & interesting boss fights.
Unleashed, Gens, and Frontiers FTW.

Idk if you plan to continue doing stuff in this style but I was recommended this by YT after not watching one of your vids in a few years and this an amazing video, better than anything I've seen from you and i don't even really agree with many of the takes here it's just a solid, well explained, argued, and presented video. If I've taken anything away from Frontiers, it's that Ian Flynn should literally be the only person hired by SEGA to write these games
Not just because he's clearly passionate about these characters and the lore, but his narratives don't actively condescend to the target demographic like with Colors, Lost World and Forces
Ian Flynn's writing can't compare to what Shiro Maekawa gave us. He shouldbe the only one writing the games, Ian should stick to the comics are even write for the western cartoons. Everything else in terms of lore and games should be only handled by Maekawa

His writing is not the shonen adventure Shiro Maekawa have give us but it is still really good righting and I do hope he get involved in more games in the future
I really wouldn't say he should be the "only person". Plenty of writers are great with Sonic; Shiro Maekawa helped write for some of the best stories in the series, including Adventure 2, Unleashed and Black Knight. The other comic writers like Evan Stanley and Daniel Barnes are also great at what they do. Ian Flynn is great, but you don't have to bring everyone else down just to bring one writer up.

Honestly yeah, this game has so many glaring flaws to it but it’s still a great time, and it feels so good to have fun with 3D Sonic again.

One thing that I think would elevate your content above where it is now is to focus more on your sound levels. This video felt like it was constantly jumping between segments that were completely different volumes from each other (separate from the moments of comedic voice raising), which can make certain parts (i.e. the *_wrong_* parts) jarring, or worse, give the video an amateurish quality. Your style is already one that relies heavily on quick jokes and cuts, which favors paying close attention, so for that to become harder to do as a viewer due to distracting audio levels is unfortunate. The good news is that you're not far off, since even just splitting the edited segments of this video that seem to be at different volumes and balancing them in a separate timeline would do a lot to improve the final result, so whatever your editing process it's not an insurmountable task by any stretch. Good video, and cheers!

The unfortunate part of the Boost stages being so recycled, is that I like how they retooled the boost itself to not be as overpowered. Especially woth 1-2. It made the stages more fun to replay and S Rank
