My favorite thing about this strategy, is that it doesn't put characters in tier lists (besides beerus). Unlike how competitive and beginners may use tiers as the only way to team build
I always just pick my 3 favorite characters from the show & make it work if they donât have the best synergy
That's the way to go I generally dislike when people just pick top tier characters just pick who you like like my team

i like that team, seems pretty legit, people are already copying your team
the only problem is that if cell or vegeta or bardock get KO'd, You'd better have some good game coming up or else its dramatic finish for you.

I feel like my team is strong (Android 21, Vegito blue, Gohan Adult) they work very well and how I use it is in the beginning of the match I only use 21 and vegito and only use gohans assist but never take him out and just leave him as an anchor and this method works very well I hit demon rank with this team in no time at all
It's been hard leaving my old team (Broly, Hit, Bardock), but now i have two better ones (Bardock, Yamcha, Goku black) and (Broly, Cooler, Goku black). The Bardock team is my favorite, lots of synergy, amazing mixups and insane pressure.
I agree with most of it, but personally, I find Piccolo to be more of a generalist than a point. In my experience, he needs a bit of help developing meter, so I normally have him mid. His assist can also help with setups and continuing combos. He can work as point, but I find him more effective as a mid.
Im gonna get the game soon, and I really want to play Piccolo. According to rooflemonger, Piccolo shines as a mid cause he is good in the corner. I suppose you have some experience with Piccolo, so do you think that Android 18 as a point, Piccolo as my mid and Gotenks as my anchor would be great ?
I am currently playing him on my main team (Trunks, Piccolo, and Goku Black). 18 and Gotenks are great together like what Globku said, and Piccolo has pretty decent synergy with Gotenks. 18 and Piccolo's synergy is a bit iffy, since I have never played that combo, so you'll have to find that out for yourself. Over all, I'd say it could work, but I'd look into other point characters just in case.
I agree with your statement. I don't main piccolo but I always thought and I still think especially after the patch that piccolo's assist is really underrated by the community. But I disagree even more when it comes to tien. I mean you don't want to have him on his own out there fighting, like what? He is like the best anchor in the game right now.
There should be a post patch version of this now

Bardock, Cell, SSJ Vegeta...... done
Vegeta has a way better assist that Goku Blacks in terms of combos. Any combo Goku black gives Bardock Vegeta gives and more. Vegeta also benefits Cell way more for the same reason. And Vegeta is about as good as Goku black without the assist, especially since Vegeta has a low hitting 2L, plus Vegeta has a DP, so Vegeta is much better
@Fisting Potatoes stop trying to make a case that black is better than ssj vegeta ... you are fanboy'ing way too hard , vegeta is down right the better character OVERALL , 3 simple reasons why
1.way better synergy
2.dp/AIR DP
3.a low 2L/better mix up potential
Bonus:although black has solid neutral , vegeta's neutral still overpowers him in that aspect too

PD Heâs still a good character though. He only problem is heâs kinda slow & predictable sense Goku Black players Just like doing the same shit, over & over & over & over & over & over

Dude have you looked at any recent tier lists? Goku Black was considered Top Tier in the first few months,but as people got better at the game they realized his faults. Mainly the fact that his mixup game is pretty weak,and predictable.The same thing happened to Trunks and Hit as well. he's still pretty good,mainly for assist,and his good neutral,but he doesn't really excel at anything else.
I think Goku (ssj) has the tools to be in the generalists category. Good assist, 2 air beams, he's one of if not the only character who can directly link his level 1 into another level 1, he can get a sliding knockdown with no meter on any part of the screen, and he has a cheeky level 3 that catches people off guard (especially in the lower ranks)
Great video! Would love a video with characters flaws since, at least for me, I don't seem to find it easy to understand what some characters lack.
I got Vegito and switched him for SSJB Vegeta and now I am winning everything

Thank God some one did this. I always had Bardock and Cell but the third character didn't always satisfy me cause all of them were either a point or a generalist character.

Tien has good synergy w him , beerus also lets baseku do his spirit bomb so hey maybe give that a shot

gotta say I'm bias to Beerus bcuz i honestly didn't watch dbz until his ark.. so him, Android 18 & Trunks...that's my somewhat cohesive unit
My team at launch was Piccolo, 18, Tien. Then I went to Bardock, 18, Tien. I chose these characters simply because I really liked them, so it's interesting to see how I could better optimize my team.
Why do you have bardock as point over 18?

@Fisting Potatoes I know. Hopefully when the paid online comes out that'll mean better online servers and we're not just paying for basically nothing.
Bardock is a Generalist, for sure. His assist is easy to extend combos with for anyone (2M, M, jLLL, Bardock assist, dash forward, M, jM, jLL, 2H, etc works with nearly all characters), and it's basically a discount Yamcha assist in terms of extending block strings. And considering he has the easy get-in option of Rebellion Spear, great ability to build bar, the ability to burn 2 bars for supers grounded or in the air, the BEST level 3 in the game with the post-super mixup and ability to do it grounded or in the air, ability to do 2 level 1s when he's DHC'd... he doesn't need assists for mix-ups or help with damage and offers the team great support.
Similar things could be said in labeling Base Vegeta as a Generalist. His assist is very serviceable for combo and blockstring extension, his mix-ups are great on his own, his post-level 3 mixup is insane, and he has one of the best DHCs in the game because he'll fly up to connect his super even of your first character did his super airborne/knocked the enemy skyward. He always makes your team stronger when he's benched to assist and DHC and his solo mix-ups and damage (especially with the loop) are great.

This video helped alot, my team is Broly, vegeta ssb and Goku ssj, but after watching I'll try switching out vegeta for cell or kid buu.
I use Frieza as my 3rd spot anchor, and it seems to work out very well. As a last character with sparking and golden i always seem to have a good closer with nice stacked buffs. Right now I'm using Cooler in point, base Vegeta as my second, and Frieza in 3rd.

I mean I run a Bardock, Gotenks, Vegito lineup and it's not that bad I would just suggest to choose who fits your own style and not that of those who make teir lists
I'm new and my Team so far is
Beerus, Android 21 & Base Vegeta
But I want to build a Team with some different characters like
Hit, Piccolo, Cooler, Cell, SSG Vegeta, SSG Goku etc

Wow TGN. Never really thought about characters the way you put them in the chart. However, I would put super sayin Goku in the generalist section instead of support because he can really hold himself up with that kamehameha beam and overall solo combo damage in general. But aside that, great video. Iâll definitely be taking some tips from it
I know Iâm late to the party, but Iâve recently picked this game up and am wanting to get good at it. Iâve typically used Trunks, Hit and Bardock...is there a better âteamâ I could be using? Iâd be okay not having Bardock. But if possible Iâd love to keep Trunks and Hit

Well, just realized i'm using 3 point characters but... I mean it works well for me at the moment. I don't think the team synergy affects my win ratio more than like, dumb mistakes and fighting better players.
I really enjoy using Frieza, Vegeta Blue, and Majin Buu switching as often possible and playing each very differently for confusion.
Would Hit, Vegeta, Goku black be a good team? I want a point character but hit seems like a good option.
I think frieza is more of a generalist than point depending on what characters are on your team

Mimilink 202 It did, but you should follow the order it says. âPointâ means you run them first and hit would really benefit from having an assist. Thats why hes considered a point

TGN Anime - what if youre trying to build a team around Hit? To save you some explanation time, i already know that Hit struggles with the long range game, beam assists really help him. So characters like Goku Black and Goku SSJ can help him. But who would be a good support character for him?

Its okay , you can never go wrong w adult gohan , goku and goku black are a good shell but they both suffer from not having a low 2L , so once your adult gohan is out , your mix up potential drastically decreases , maybe switch out either black or ssj goku for someone like ssj vegeta , tien , gotenks , or 16 ? Zamasu is a good option as well , just play him as a mid and let ssj goku or black be your anchor

it's okay, i guess. im a gohan main and I've found that beam assists work really well with him. you get combo extentsions in the corner, an assist crutch, and they're really good for the machine gun kick pressure.
and as much as i enjoy both goku black and goku, once gohan is dead, that team kind of crumbles.
I'd run him with probably gotenks, kid buu, 16, tien, or cell, before running him with a second Goku/Goku black. all those characters give you more mixup and damage potential than the latter, despite their super good assists for gohan.
(also gohan doesn't really get much from vegeta assist. his mix up potential goes way down with it since the assist can be reflected and suoer dashed through)

Ss vegeta is a just simply a better character, better mixups, better synergy and one of the top 3 best anchors in the game

Pretty strange to find Tien in the "support" position. His solo abilities are on a completely different level compared to Yamcha or even SSJ Goku (since he has actual mix-ups). He can be an anchor but he can just as well be a mid, and there's no problem combining him with Goku (look at Apologyman's team).

Went from losing lots of ranked matches to leveling up from saiyan to super saiyan 2 in no time hahaha.

Frieza black, ss goku is definetly better than black ssvegeta Frieza, you probably never wanna have Frieza as an anchor
