This is the KC and the Sunshine Band song a lot of us have been waiting for 🙂
Still waiting for Get Down Tonight, and That’s The Way I Like It. Their 2 best songs in my opinion.
You right at least in my case, favorite song by them.
Yesss! Understatement 💯
Exactly
Don’t forget Keep It Coming Love. My favorite. Underrated
This song screams "couples skate" at the roller skating rink during that time. Love it!
totally
Hell yeah good times this song babe by the group Styx and just when I needed you most Randy van warmer
Nazareth "Love Hurts" followed by KC & the Sunshine Band "Please Don't Go" for our couples. Get out there on the floor! :)
Yep!!!
😆 Yes!
So blessed that I grew up with songs like this from my childhood. Love this so much.
I don’t think you guys have listened to their two biggest - and best, IMO - songs, Get Down Tonight and That’s the Way I Like It. Both HUGE disco hits. Please react to those next.
Yes!!! Just requested too. 2 of their best
Not to mention 'Give it up', which was no.1 in the UK in the July of 1983
@@gpreactions3194 I’m not positive, but I think they may have already reacted to that.
@@Wordsmyth8 oh didn't realise that. I do prefer the US hits to be fair.
Agree!
“Shake Shake Shake Your Booty”, “Get Down Tonight”, and “That’s the Way I Like It” are next from KC.
Jay/Amber, you'll love their "That's the Way (I Like It)"and "Get Down Tonight"!!!
'Shake shake shake' is definitely their best song. The horn section in that song is legendary.
Agreed
James, It’s called “Shake Your Booty.”
it's a good one!
This was THE make out song of the time! Got my first kiss to this song. Wish I knew were she was today 🙂
ME too MAN :) Summer Camp , WASHINGTON STATE ;)1979
I think this is the only ballad they ever hit the charts with. KC did have one other ballad hit away from The Sunshine Band as part of a duet with Teri Desario called “Yes, I’m Ready”
That was a Barbara Mason remake and a classic for her.
oh yes....I remember that!!! This song is also the theme from the new Netflix show, DAHMER. But it is creepy there....
Reminds me of high school dances back in the day!!🤘🔥
My all-time favorite "KC" song...I just found a 45 (10" vinyl record/45 rpm) of it in an antique store--instant purchase!
Ok, if they liked this, they've Gotta check out another (even Slower! but even Greater!) KC song. When he does the Duet with Teri Desario: "Yes, I'm Ready"
It's one of the greatest love song duets of All Time!! Especially the version where KC is wearing a Red Shirt. The Love & connection between them on that stage is UnReal !!
Yes! I agree
I love this song too!😁💜
One of favorite song's from K.C and the Sunshine Band. I believe this song was the number 1 song in the nation at the start of 80's.
But PLEASE dont go was recorded and released in the SUMMER OF 1979 IUt was enjoyed in the summer and fall of 1979 I WAS THERE LOL,, Its 70s .. So please put it back on the 70s shelf , This was a hit before the 80s were in diapers lol ,, All in fun
@@theodoreritola7641 Well said. LOL. Thank You.
@@josephvalenzuela311 Your welcome
But was very pop before the 80s started ,,
It was also a hit in 1979 Be for the 80s were in Diapers lol All in fun
I used to sing this song to a man I loved, every time he started to leave before I wanted him to I’d sing “babe I love you so…” - to guilt him into staying a little bit longer…he passed away in 2016. This song will forever remind me of him. My Frendy, who changed my life. ❤
I like the way this guys voice sounds with the bass, incredible talent.
The movie that I would suggest to you is Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman
you can't imagine the number of babies they made in the 70s with this song
Millions lol ,, Please dont go was released in the summer of 1979, It was a huge hit before the 80s even started
Fun Fact: This was the first song to hit Number 1 of the 80s. Although the song was released in the Summer of '79, it would take six months for this song to hit Number 1 on the first week of January 1980 replacing Rupert Holmes Escape. This would also be KC and The Sunshine Band's last number one after dominating the Disco mid 70s.
Both were good 70s songs Left over in the 80s
Doesnt matter when it was number 1 . It was a hit be for the 80s Started Its 70s , Escape was the last song of the 70s that was Huge and Popular
I requested the first KC song way back last year, and you guys loved it, it was I'm your Boogie Man, Amber was overjoyed when the horns came out. I saw them in concert about 77 or 78 in St Louis Mo, at Six Flags, we were standing and shake shake shaking the whole time, so much fun!!
This is when Disco had peaked and New Wave music was starting to replace it (1979- 80) Great song ☺
Please dont go Was a big hit in the summer of 1979 ,,So its 70s AMBER
There was still al ot of disco in 80 and 81 , But this was a big hit in 1979 BEFORE the 80s started
Please dont go was released in the Summer of 1979 . It was a hit before the 80s were in Diapers lol All in fun But true
KWS did a version of this when I was in middle school. I remember buying the cassette one Saturday morning with my first girlfriend. It'll always remind me of her and those times.
I obviously love this, but yeah, KWS version will always be my favourite.
That's because it was the better version. KWS gave this song life.
Even better is the Double You version, which I think was bigger in Europe. It’s pop perfection.
@@italoblu I've heard that version. It's good, but I don't like it as much as KWS.
So good.
Yes!! I knew the KWS version before I knew this one
KC transitioned from being a 70's mega hit maker into the changing musical times of the early 80's when punk, arena rock and new wave were hitting their strides. He was caught in the disco resistance of the time and tried to make music that was still him, but fit a new era. When you see those turned up shirt collars you know you have hit the early 80's
The video was filmed in 80 But Please dont go came out in the summer of 1979 , And in the fall of 1979 WAS A HUGE Hit for the 70s
This was a huge hit in the fall of 1979 DONT matter when it was number 1. It was wrote recorded and released in 1979 ,
Please dont go came out in the summer of 1979 ,I was 18 So I was there ,,
I suggested this one after your last KC. Hope you guys love it! ❤
Next for them: That’s the Way I Like it!
Classic song in all ways. Love the bassline. Love how the song starts slow and builds up!
Nearly 43 years since it hit #1 (first #1 of the 80's decade) and it still sounds great. KC's powerful yet passionate vocal delivery sitting on top of their musical arrangement makes this my all time favorite from the group. Thanks for reacting to this one.
But this song was all ready a big hit in the summer of 1979 Before the 80s were even in DIAPERS LOL ,,, All in Fun
I remember going to the roller-skating rink every Sunday afternoon skating to this great song back in 7th grade. My favorite of theirs with awesome, lasting memories.
This was a departure for them and my favorite...and that bass line rocks. Love the tambourine in this one, too. They drove the beat, while allowing for the romance.
The keyboard and bass wow!. I’m amazed by this song 🎵.
If you want to be surprised like this, try the song called "Beth" by the group 'KISS'
Yeah, can't wait to see their mouth's drop when they hear KISS sing that song!
Oh I love KC & the Sunshine Band! That's my pre-teen years!! I had the great pleasure of seeing them in concert a few years ago!! They did not disappoint!! Had so much fun at that concert, probably because they were having so much fun too!!
Finally! This is my favorite KC and the Sunshine Band song. This video is awesome and it cracks me up because he is high as a kite and it is so goofy but I love it. When he starts looking back over his shoulder I just crack up and lose it every time.
"Get Down Tonight" should be the next KC & The Sunshine Band tune to check out!!! Definitely a fan favorite!!
KC And The Sunshine Band music made for an exciting listening experience for me back in the 70's when I discovered FM radio! How memorable!
Everyone has a hard and soft side and KC's is just amazing, this song was on every k-tel soft rock album
This song came back to my playlist after hearing it on the Dahmer movie on Netflix. I love the this song
This song was known as a real Babe Layer back in the day. GET DOWN TONIGHT, KEEP IT COMIN' LOVE, SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE, etc., are all good.
You guys should checkout "When you're in love with a beautiful woman" by Dr. Hook 👍🏼
It has a great video.
Yes! That and Sharing the Night Together
Boy, does this bring back memories! This was played in every disco back in the day and I just loved it! ❤
My favorite KC song.
I LOVE KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND!!! Thank you for making my Monday!
Love KC and the Sunshine Band, good reaction. J, you need to introduce Amber to Wild Cherry and "Play that funky music!".
OOO YAAAA the studio version With the Cherry in the Lipstick mouth It was such a HUGE HIT In 1976 ,,,Wild Cherrys only big hit
THIS SONG IS A SUCH CLASSIC 💯
I love KC & the Sunshine Band! They are so great!
Please dont go was released in the SUMMER of 1979 ,, Its 70s Baby, I hope that made your day Amber, , Amber you would have liked the 70s SOO SOOO MUCH
That's the Way I Like It, make you dance. I love this K.C. song. We know they can jam. Amber is right on time again. Thanks again for this smile.
I loved this song as a kid and never realized it was by KC and the Sunshine Band. How cool to learn this through your reactions. And I love how Amber described it as dreamy and romantic because that's perfect.
Interesting that it starts off sounding like a ballad and then all the instruments slowly kick in full force.
I picked up on that bass line just like you did, and all discos would play a set of the faster ones, then usually two slow ones for the up close stuff. Lol. You guys are great at what you do , thanks for the uploads. "Yes I'm ready with KC and Teri Desario" was another big slow jam he had.
KC and Teri Desario sing “Yes, I’m Ready”. It’s sweet. But, I also found Barry Gibb with Teri Desario. It’s a bop.
I remember this song being played at the skating rink. Great memory!
This is one of those groups that was very underestimated,And should have been bigger than what they were, always good tunes from Harry Casey aka K.C
THANK YOU. FAMILY. 🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖🌖
Love this song, it's one of my favorites from KC and the Sunshine Band.
This song showcases his vocals very well. Shake Your Booty, and That's The Way I Like It will get you dancing in your chairs.
I remember in the 70s all the bands had slow songs. I saw KC and the Sunshine Band when I was in college, probably 1976. I remember how he jumped all around the stage in That's the Way I like it. So much energy! You couldn't stay in your seat.
Sounds like the 70s
I saw k.c and the sunshine band so many years ago. Love every song they play. God bless you k.c. thank you for the wonderful memories of your music. .💯✌️😎😇☺️
Love, love, LOVE this song!
Back in the day, this was a heavily requested song on the radio. I loved skating to it when they did couples skate at the rink. What a blast from the past!
I remember having a crush on KC when I was like 5! Jeez its like a dream...
KC and the Sunshine Band was big in Florida(Sunshine ie Sunshine State). They had a LOT of hits. But this was, IMO, the least of their biggest hits, between Shake Your Booty, Boogie Shoes, That's The Way, Keep It Coming Love, Get Down Tonight, they couldn't lose. By this song, disco was done and they were on their way out and this song pretty much was what HWKC was saying to his fans, please don't go. But while you on it, definitely got to get more from associated acts George McCrae(Rock You Baby), Foxy(Get Off), Anita Ward(Ring My Bell), Hues Corporation(Rock The Boat)
My fave KC song. Love it.
This has always been my favorite song by them...An awesome song...Thanks for reacting to this one...I used to fall asleep listening to this song when it first came out ...Memories.
This and "Yes I'm Ready," with Terry Desario were two of my favorite KC songs
I actually never heard this song. I’m really looking forward to reacting to this song with y’all.
the bass is what makes this song, certainly one of his biggest hits.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I was waiting for you guys to get to this. The baseline is very pronounced and beautiful.
That bass line was sick!🔥You need to learn that one Jay!💯😁❤️✌️
I was in love with this man in high school. I never particularly cared for his music but I bought the albums to look at him.
such of beautiful soft 70S ballad and total switch From KC'S music style
PLEASE. DONT. GO. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is my favorite KC song. I have never heard this song that I didn't feel like I had to help him sing it! lol
When I was a kid in elementary school we would have school skate nights once a month. This was always the last song played at the end of the night. Happy memories!
I fell in love for the first time in my life ( it lasted 5 weeks ) when this was a hit , I still get teary when i hear it , Ellen Gabrielle Busch I still think of you , Bob
Without a doubt, one of the best contemporary songs ever written, produced, and sung. Glad you discovered it. Be sure to listen again without interruption.
I so enjoyed watching the two of you enjoy it . 🥰
Love KC And The Sunshine Band. This I'd one his slower songs, but still great, and of course I had it on vinyl. His biggest hit (at least over here on The UK) I think, was "That's The Way I Like It" DISCO BANGER.
🕺💃🎵🎼🔥
I loved all of KC and the Sunshine band's songs 🎵 🌞 ☀️
Get down tonight is my favorite.
I've been waiting for them to react to this one !!!! Love it !
This song still gives me goosebumps. Love KC and The Sunshine Band 💜
Great reaction. Great song! I saw him live a few years ago, and he performs it exactly like the video - the whole swaying and singing over his shoulder! Such a great performer! He gave his fans exactly what they wanted too!
Omg! I remember dancing to this at homecoming and prom back in 1979-80. So many bittersweet memories.
I saw KC and the Sunshine Band live years ago. It was called KC's Boogie Blast. He had many other Disco artists perform. It was great seeing young and old and in between having a great time to the music I grew up with. I hope you stay on the KC kick.
Such a great group and such a great song. Such a classic song from 1979. Thank You.
WE LOVE KC !!!!
This is easily my favorite KC & The Sunshine Band song
When I saw a Rob Squad reaction for This song? I KNEW Rob would Quickly pick up on that bass line...And he didn't Disappoint!
I was 5 years old when this song came out & I clearly remember hearing it on the radio. As an adult when I tried to find this song, I was just as surprised as you to find out it was KC & the Sunshine Band who performed this song.
Finally a reactiom to my favorite KC and the Sunshine Band song! They have so many great upbeat songs but I Love this one sooo much. ❤️ 😍 💖
Green Eye Lady by Sugarloaf 70s funky organ bass and drums original version is over 6:53 minutes of pure awesomeness this song is a true masterpiece of creative sounds and cool voice
OMG Kc and the Sunshine band is one of my biggest Middle school memories! Watching the ball drop on Times Square..lol
This song is featured heavily and very effectively in the NF series Dahmer, underscoring Jeff's twisted fear of abandonment.
Yeah, now every time I hear this song, I can't help but think of the Dahmer Netflix show. You're on point, it was used VERY effectively, and the lyrics hit different once you watch that show!
Ew...
I had to quit watching that show bc it was ruining this song for me, which has a special meaning in my life.
Friday nights at the skating rink....this song takes me right back there. Love it!! Such great memories.
My Favorite Song Of K.C & The Sunshine Band, Great Reaction Guy's
Released in 1979, and one of the most requested and best slow dance songs of my Senior year in High School.
When I think of this song, I always think about how strong the bass line, driving this song. It's so strong and carries the whole song.
Growing up this was my favorite song from K.C. and the Sunshine Band.
You guys still haven't reacted to "Get Down Tonite". That's one of K.C.'s BIGGEST disco hits! It was even featured in Forrest Gump, which you reacted to recently. You won't be surprised or disappointed!
One of KCs best, more the softer side, but way groovy...Still stayed in disco mood tho, basic couples dance mode in the disco...A great time in music and great time of social changes started happening...Thanx for the memories today. Blessings
Their music is an automatic mood booster. So friggin' enjoyable!!
His Music Is Known As Reggae & R&B Fusion,, You Will Both Enjoy This Classic Track,, Maxi Priest "Close To You"
As soon as I saw the title of the song you were going to experience, I knew you two were going to be pleasantly surprised. I sure was when I first heard it. My high school jazz band often played this. Really a very cool song.
did not know they did this first. such an awesome song
RELESSED IN THE SUMMER of 1979
