    Maserati has been making cars for over a century, yet you don't see that many about. With myriad choices, Italian or otherwise, why would you go for a Maser over anything else? With the aid of the delightfully noisy GranTurismo MC Stradale, XCAR found out.

    Watched this video a long time ago when I first bought my car. Happy to watch it again today. Great video and a great car. The Granturismo has become even more special after all these years, particularly with the styling, sexy sound, and naturally aspirated V8 engine - a standout, especially when compared to other manufacturers.
    Combining forces of Maserati, Ferrari, and Pininfarina in one car makes it truly something exceptional.
    Yes, it is a modern classic!

      Don' t know what you mean. But, owning a second hand Maserati Gransport Contemporary Classic since 2009, I can assure everyone that the car has very distinct pros and cons. Count the sound, the quick downshifts and the superb turn-in in the former; count the greasy (after a few years of ownership) interior plastics, the mediocre, even in sport mode, upshifts and the brake feel in the latter. As regards the looks, this is evidently a subjective thing.

    • @dmgemini1622
      @dmgemini1622 Před 7 lety +10

      And, btw, there is no old Maserati flair in the Maserati models after the Granturismo anymore. Maserati has become something like Jaguar or Porsche nowadays.

      J VL I don't refer to styling. I mean that Maserati tends to become, if not a mass-production car maker, at least a medium size-production one. With an SUV and the new Ghibli (I hate this car!) in their current range, they aim to appeal to a broader consumer target-market; too bad for the mark's heritage.

What have Maserati been doing for 7 years. Typically luxurious automotive companies, such as Ferrari, will release annual updates to already existing models. Not here however!? Why? Do they not care. Unless you absolutely must have this car I see no compelling reason to avoid looking elsewhere. Perhaps a nice Ferrari California!

    The problem with Maserati is quite simple. It's a higher volume brand Ferrari with all the Ferrari maintenance costs. FCA has a bit of a challenge here. Where do they position Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Ferrari? They really need to build the brand to be distinct from Ferrari and all their other brands. Right now Maserati is a bit lost along with Lancia and Chrysler.

    Exotics, are not ALWAYS about what 'other' people (and YOU) think. Its not always about what a ton of STRANGERS that I will never meet, think. As I'm an inventor and product designer for my own projects, I'm obsessed with mechanics, user experience and the 'look' I 'LOVE' great design, and I DO spend over an hour a day minimum inside the interior. The fit and finish matters to me. And I love the FEEL l of a great handling, but smooth, driving car. And I love when I get on the on-ramp to the highway or pass a car, for the car to GO! My car isn't for 'other' people, but for me. Its not balls out, death race 2000 in-between lights, and lose my license - but just for me - so 3/10ths of a second 0-60 faster/slower, or what ANYONE thinks... doesn't MATTER. Negative comments ARE annoying, like any angry comments from old grannys and their gossiping friends. I didn't pay for other people's thumbs up or down - only mine. If you do like my car, by all means take a look - then go on about living YOUR life. I'll live mine.

    the outside looks very nice, but overall nothing spectacular or unique. It does feel very powerful while driving, but the steering is very very stiff. The inside looks terrible, very outdated as mentioned by almost everyone. A nice car but just not worth the money. Wait for the alfieri.

      You'd have to compare this to the GT350 because that's also a flare plane crank V8 just like this. I think this sounds better AND it's more comfortable. Yes I know it's slower, but I honestly don't care.
