  • The Ferrari 458 and Maserati Gran Turismo though they look different are very similar as they both share the same basic engine except one being a cross-plane crank V8 and the other a flat-plane crank V8. So if you want a ferrari 458 with four seats, should you get a Maserati? Find out in this golden review.

@@revelationteachingfromtheheart I challenge anyone to show me a better all-around vehicle than the Maserati Gran Turismo. This car has a wheel base just shy of 116 inches, clearly enough room to seat four comfortably. As the photos reveal here the car is very low slung, its chassis and suspension architecture are sound and strong with tubular aluminum subframes front and rear that are very robust, forged aluminum double wishbones up front, and an aluminum multi-link system in the rear. The steering rack remains hydraulic and receives consistent praise for its refinement. It has a very aggressive 3.73 torsen limited slip, great brakes, and of course both the interior and exterior are high level art. This car looks to be Grigio Lava with Marrone leather and the interior carbon fiber trim. I have a photo portfolio of designs of the car from the 18-19 model, that is suitably arranged with matching feminine accompaniment. ladiesforthegranturismo.wordpress.com

I could have bought a Ferrari, but picked Maserati GT instead for several reasons. It is the ultimate stealth Italian super sports car. Having back seats was important at the time, although I have never sat in them, and I have never had 3 passengers, just 1. The trunk was important then and still is. The engine sound of the Maserati is what sold me. The car turns heads and police ignore it for the most part.
I bought my Maserati used. Prior owner spent a small fortune upgrading the 19 inch wheels, tires, and brakes. He put on massive 21 inch wheels, 21 inch Michelin Pilot Sport extra wide and low profile tires high speed rated. He upgraded brakes and rotors. He upgraded suspension and lowered car. He put on a high performance exhaust complete with headers, x pipe, cats, and tips. He conveniently left out the mufflers. It was too loud for my taste and I installed an OEM high performance Cat Back system that flows better than stock, and still sounds incredible.
Would I ever buy a Ferrari... yes I would. But until then I have Maserati GT.

They're different engines though. The Ferraris use flat plane crank which is where it gets that higher pitch, while the Maseratis use cross plane crank, which is why it has that lower growl. They're derived from a common platform, but different setups.
Then there's the fact that one's a sports car and one's a GT car. Both great options depending on which way you want to go, but they'll feel very different.

Should have leaned in to their affiliation with Ferrari or at least created their own naturally aspirated V8. Company is going in the wrong direction unfortunately. This GT is def the best car they ever produced for consumer consumption.
