Id' steer clear of this 100 years of cooking, we never know if those cave men ways are still compatible with us. Like for example steering the oatmeal with a rock spoon instead of a wood.
You actually need to make it boil for a long time until almost all the water is gone, it will make the oatmeal dry/firm or whatever XD I hate it when oatmeal is like a soup, so that's how I do it, just takes more time.
Put oats in a bowl, add some water, put it in the microwave for a minute see if it's how you like it, if not out it in for another minute and repeat till you get what you want
