    Yamamoto VS Ichibei- Who Would Win? Within the Soul Society in the world of Bleach, there are two ancient powerhouses known as Genryusai Yamamoto and Ichibei Hyosube. Both of these gods amongst the Shinigami faction faced off against the overpowered Yhwach, the mightiest Quincy in existence and Sosuke Aizen, the transcendent and cunning former captain of the Soul Society. With their insanely powerful zanpakutos, abilities, and experience, who would come out on top if they were to fight?

      So true. Ichibei simply exists outside the parameters of the story until after Yama’s death. I think Yama has more offensive abilities. But he isn’t really a tactical fighter. He just tries to overwhelm his opponent. That simply won’t work against ichibei. He would just turn Yama’s flames into a match. Turn Yama’s strength to a kitten. And then smash him.

      @@chrisblanc663 I mean you can say the same for Kenpachi, but at a way higher level. He really doesnt consider better approaches than face first. It took him way too long to remember the Rudimentary lesson yamamoto taught him about kendo. I don't think you're giving yamamoto enough credit when it comes to tactician though. We just haven't seen him ever in a position where he needed to be. But he is quite resourceful. And usually finds a better approach alot of the time. And he is always limited. The entire time he is involved he is either benched or his power is stolen from him. And the one time he actually was able to use his sword his arm was missing and couldn't use all his bankai nor could he use all the kido and hakudo, not to mention he in a state of rage. Hard to focus on tactician that way.
      His best approach is to pressure his opponent and that works very very well. Ichibei is just really good at controlling an aggressive fighter and redirection.

    I think Ichibei would win. We haven't seen anything to suggest his ink could be erased by Yama's bankai on contact, since nobody has outright destroyed the ink that way. Not sure Yama has higher reiatsu either, so the thing Aizen mentioned to Soi Fon isn't an escape. Neither is Yama's statement about no stronger shinigami being born in 2000 years, obviously since Ichibei is much older. Ichibei also showed hidden kidou abilities that we hadn't seen before, so considering regular kidou contains things like literally stopping time, who knows what the secret ones can do.

    The trick to this fight is that both combatants are immeasurably powerful, but in very different ways:
    Ichibe’s powers are vast - not on a physical level but a conceptual one. It’s unlikely that he’s a very dominant melee fighter, but his absolute authority over names and the very concept of ‘Black’ gives him a transcendent and god-like degree of influence over his reality. If the ink of his brush touches you, you’re whatever he wants you to be.
    Yamamoto is the pinnacle of fighting power in a more straightforward sense. If Ichibe can be thought of as a god of creation then that makes Old Man Yama a god of destruction. There’s nobody who can compete with his offensive power - this man’s Shikai is enough to incinerate cities and the mere activation of his Bankai threatens to destroy a plane of existence.
    A great testament to Yama’s strength that shouldn’t be ignored - neither Aizen or Yhwach wanted a direct confrontation with him without first having a means of sealing his zanpakuto’s power.
    The difference in the nature of their abilities aside, both Yama and Ichibe are very well rounded fighters and have a mastery of all soul-reaper combat disciplines.
    Whoever wins is a simple question - who can land the first decisive blow?

    Yamamoto didn't defeat Yhwach who had the Almighty 1000 years ago. Nimaya specifically mentions that he has data about Yhwach from the battle he just had against Yama and his battle from 1000 years ago, meaning Ichibei would know about Yhwach's Almighty if he used it 1000 years ago. But when Ichibei fights Yhwach, he is surprised by the Almighty, meaning Yhwach didn't use it before.

    • @damaniherrington4170
      @damaniherrington4170 Před 2 lety

      That makes sense. Since how would you beat an almighty yhwach without his powers somehow being deactivated temporarily? Unless yhwach saw no altered reality where he could defeat yama in his bankai. But this would also make no sense since he went back and broke ichigos bankai before he could even use it. So why wouldn’t he be able to do it against yama in the past? The only explanation to this is that he didn’t have the almighty in the past.

    • @udiin6518
      @udiin6518 Před 2 lety +1

      @@damaniherrington4170 the problem with the whole feat is, as impressive as yama's full arsenal is, there still should just have been no way he'd even come close to defeating yhwach - the almighty was beaten only by a combination of EXTREMELY contrived plot devices and nearly-as-broken hax abilities which yama definitely does not have. I think Kubo potentially realised the same (that he'd made a character and ability that was way too broken) and thus opted NOT to go for the 1000 year flashback everybody wanted - zero way to explain how yhwach is defeated
      (though i head-canon one of the original gotei 13 captains must have had a counter of sorts and yama sacrificed them and the others besides Unohana in a combined assault, thus "defeating" yhwach)

      Exactly that's the only question that matters, they say his flames can erase things from existence so its clearly not just super hot fire it seems to work on a conceptual level. If it applies to Ichibe's ink it cancels most of his OP hax, both at full power I take Yamamoto if Ichibe can seal some of it than I'd take him. Yhwach purposely avoids Yamamoto & waits til he's weakened to show up implying he feared him, he fights Ichibe head on even tho he could've used his elites to wear him down some implying he had no issues handling him alone

      Ichibie had that bs where his Bankai can't be stolen, which gave him the advantage to have a fair fight against Yhwach (Also Ichibie's purpose was to show how The Almighty worked, it was a set up to show Yhwach is a broken hax character)
      What chance did Yamma have against Yhwach without Bankai
      Though Ichibie vs Yamma, both with Bankai, Yamma's South and East gives him a massive advantage via range attacks, not saying he'll sweep but he definitely has an upper hand against Ichibie

    Great match up and one I'd never thought of before both narratively and in concept 👍
    My take? Very dependant on a few factors. It isn't a question of whether or not Yammy's flames could evaporate ichibei's ink. It's shown in the clash with Yuwach that the ink acts like a liquid and is subject to force regardless of if it can be evaporated.
    The real question here is whether exposure to the ink applies hacks to spiritual pressure. If so Yammy doesn't stand a chance. If not? Yammy has the advantage. Ichibei's hax affect Yammy less than Ywach as both will have advanced Intel on each other and will do everything to prevent exposure from either side's Zanpakuto abilities.
    Deciding factor for both sides? Ichibei's force palm ability in conjuction with his ink to bypass Yamamoto's flames, or turning Yammy undead servants against him as a distraction.
    For Old man Yammy? Simple proximity and diversity of techniques. Ichibei doesn't have Blut Vein and trying to keep his distance will only play into Yammy's hand. Shikai flames to entrap and Bankai to apply the killing blow.

      There’s zero reason to believe Yama couldn’t beat yuha (again) if he wasn’t super tired and have his bankai stolen. Almighty would be the deciding factor if those other two things didn’t happen, and it decided the Ichibe fight too. Now I’m not saying Ichibe isn’t stronger than Yama, as I don’t even think they are technically the same thing. Ichibe is to shinigami as yuha is to Quincy, a Demi god type thing…but the reasons you stated are irrelevant to the broader issue. Yama would have beaten yuha just as Ichibe did.

The Almighty is outright shown to be more powerful than ichibe's hax and other abilities so by that logic the Yamamoto in this scenario would be able to beat ichibe who has hax inferior to the almighty obviously not casually it will be a close match I'd say Yamamoto would win 7/10 times.

    Yamamoto would lose because he vowed to never use his Bankai ever again and that if he did, he would not be able to return, meaning, he meant to die in combat or he would retire as the Head Captain. This goes to show how much this vow means to Yamamoto, and honestly... I somehow doubt that Yamamoto would even consider to use his Bankai against Ichibei. Yamamoto is actually incredibly ashamed of himself and regrets the use of his bankai, when he used it 1000 years ago to fight Ywach.
    As in Yamamoto's own words, "That is a monster that appeared in Soul Society a long time ago. It appeared when Soul Society was facing a difficult situation, only to make the situation worse."
    Yamamoto's sheer strength killed friends and foe alike as large area of affect of his Bankai indiscriminately killed anyone close enough or anyone who got caught up in an attack. I would also assume that in his original fight 1000 years ago against Ywach, the fight was a long drawn out fight, and the sheer heat of his bankai ended up killing numerous innocents and also his comrades.
    Yamamoto only decided to use his Bankai again when facing Ywach because of the immense stress and emotional turmoil he had from having so many people he cared about, die left and right, so he felt the need to end the battle as soon as possible.
    If we are talking about a Yamamoto who would not hesitate to use his Bankai, then I think he has a decent chance against Ichibei, but in a fight without his bankai, Yamamoto has a very slim to no-chance.

I also believe 1,000 years ago Bankai Yamamoto beat Yhwach with Almighty, I think Yhwach couldn't see a future where he actually beats Yamamoto at the time and instead took the future where he returns 1,000 years later and has medallions to steal bankai's. Imo Zanka no Tachi simply has too much raw power that it over powers Ichibei's hax, I mean if simply left active too long it can destroy the Soul Society completely and that could be any size.

      no. ichbei would never lose to yama. theres clearly a massive difference in thier their power. the fact that ichbei could be so transcnded that even ywach could abrely sense him in thier fight. i mean how could anyone see the man who gave power to bankais etc and automatically knows everything about all bankai etc lose to yama. not to mention ichibei is immortal and controls all black which is what everyone is amde of. ywach is the only reason ichbei could lsoe since the almighty hax> ichbeis control all black hax.

    I think the "Strongest Zanpakuto" title is more of the traditional sense of strength. Yammamoto when he fights with just his shikai its felt all over the seretei. You know he is fighting even wen you are even remotely close and thats just the shikai. While Ichibei is strong in the hax side of power.

    • @udiin6518

      surely its the opposite; Yama's bankai is the only thing giving him the chance here, no? Ichibei is faster (4000 ri feat after he initially palms yhwach away), physically stronger at least not weaker (crushed yhwach's throat, broke Yhwach's own Sankt Alter simply by flexing the muscles in his left arm etc...), better kido (no other character has ever shown even an inkling of the "secret kido" he used, and who knows how many more hidden ones he has up his sleeve), and let's say comparable reiatsu since we have nothing to go on there beyond knowing both will be right near the top.
      While i don't think it would, you can argue a win for yama if you think ZKT would, ironically, nullify the power-nullifier in ichimonji. Furthermore, Ichibei's bankai is more of a support type in truth so not that helpful to him in a hypothetical 1v1.
      Without bankai I don't see any argument here for yama, two hands or not

    I think Yama wins with two hands since its implied he was surpressed since he had only one hand vs the fake Ywach. Also Yamamoto was the head of the gotei since he was formed. So that could also imply maybe at some point some if not all of the Zero division were part of the original gotei 13 and were later promoted into the Zero division. I mean when Ywach said Yama used to be far more ruthless and defeat Ywach in the past maybe this could imply a young Yamamoto was even stronger than the one we saw in the thousand year blood war. Plus Yamamoto basically has four abilities which is like four bankai compared to other characters. I think if I remeber correctly Aizen had to plan for Yamamoto along with the potential of Kenpachi but he seemed to not fear the Zero division at all (even though Kubo didn't come up with their characters yet as far as I know)

    • @udiin6518
      @udiin6518 Před 2 lety +7

      its interesting, isn't it. I think it boils down to the way they've been portrayed really:
      Yama's won a lot of very public fights - he's been demolishing everything thrown his way for years, and almost always has several or many observers to his fights that give us (the audience) all kinds of comments and statements about how powerful he is. While in practice most of these observers likely in reality aren't in a position to judge how yama would fare against any of the other top tiers in the bleach universe, to us readers he has always just seemed like the pinnacle of strength everyone else aspires to be, and indeed he was exactly that for most of the story. His power of fire enhances this even more - at least outwardly, its the most awe-inspiring power to have and for us to see on the page/screen.
      by contrast, NOBODY has seen Ichibei in battle - his one fight against Yhwach was a loss and had no third party observers (so no superlative comments from, e.g. Oetsu to fall back on), and due to the way the plot had to move at that point he ended up being used mainly to show how powerful Yhwach was - consider for a second how many other characters in the story would be able to even recover any of the 50% power casually stolen by SEALED ichimonji, let alone anything that came after.
      It just so happens yhwach was basically the only character in the series that could possibly have countered Ichibei's power-nulling, but because the only time we've seen ichibei's powers used they were countered, to the reader it makes them seem a lot more easily counterable ("Aizen would defo just negate with Reiatsu", "yama wouldn't be touched i'm sure he'd just burn the ink off before it reached him"...etc)
      I can almost guarantee had Ichibei been shown a few feats BEFORE fighting his perfect plot-protected counter in Yhwach - perhaps something like low-diffing or nullifying a character on the level of, say, Byakuya - you'd get way, way less of this.
