If you want to access the fuse box or the 12 V battery, you need to remove the Frunk cooler box. All you need to do is remove the trim and remove all the screws which hold the cooler down. Make sure you do not mix up the screws inside the frunk. When I installed it back again, I mixed up the screws and 1 was then too long what ended up in a broken bolt.

Excellent video. Thank you very much for sharing!! Good lord! That is some digging to get to fuses. Makes me miss my ICE vehicle a little. ;-)
Some fuses are just under the glovebox
Thanks for the positive words
Thats a lot of work.
Great video
Awesome detail - thank you very much!
You are welcome
Very detailed video and explanation. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Great detail and video but what a job that is just to get to a fuse box.
Yes correct, but there is another fuse box inside the car
Thank you for this! You just helped me out tremendously with a project on my own Mach E.
Glad it helped
May I ask what project?
Pony light?
Thank you. I hope I never have to do this…. !!!!
you are welcome, it is easier then it seems.
35Ah is a rather small battery, hope the Mach-E can top it up whenever needed, when car is off (as dashcams are getting increasingly popular).
This alone would have prevented me from purchasing a MME. The fuses should be easily accessible.
I never had to change one in 20 month of ownership
@@BentheEVguy good to know. I'm thinking more like in four or five years.
There is an interior fuse box as well
Correct.
Would you have to do all this to have a dash cam installed?
It’s a good video, but I think you’ve got a different model cause I don’t have that cover you put on the top front snap in I have ‘23 gt
Mine was a 21 premium with a vin number in the 3000's
Greetings from Germany! That's a great job! Thank you for your helpful hints.
Do you think it might be possible to change the 12V battery by yourself (even it is necessary 😉).
Best regards
Ingo
Klar, man muss halt die Box ausbauen, daher das Video 😅
Sure that's what I made the video for, you will need to remove the frunk box
Hallo Ben,
What a pain! lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
By disconnecting the kill switch can I do that to reset, like disconnecting the battery? Or should I just disconnect at the terminal?
Good question. Some people said it would work. I did not try it though
Those screws are stiff coming out. I recommend using a an electric screwdriver or drill.
good idea, I got one for xmas this year
I have 2 of them one has 127K and my ac is out. ford wants $1200.00 to fix it what should I do?
Get it fixed. The ac might be part of the battery cooling. If it's out, it's an issue. You could try a different Ford dealer or 3rd party ev repair shops. We have some where I am at.
I was really impressed the GTs and I guess 22 models will have electronic frunk release including a frunk release in the middle. Having to open the door and then pull the frunk release makes the frunk completely useless for most applications.
Maybe not useless, but inconvenient
This is incorrect. The 2021 is being updated right now with electronic frunk opening with the FordPass app, and once that update is received you can unlock the frunk with the door keypad in addition to the app.
Neither option is convenient if your 12v battery dies. They need an exterior manual access point. I'm looking at making a pull cord that I can use from outside the car to open funk
You can open it with the two wires in the front
@@BentheEVguy if you have a 12v power source... What if your jump pack or cables are in the frunk...
Where is the air conditioner fuse?
@@jollygreen4662 did u check the fuse list in the manual? I don't have this car anymore
@@BentheEVguy starting think I need ac gas recharge or there is a leak.
My 2022 still blows normal temperature air and warm heated air. Only AC not working
It should hv warranty bring it to ford. The ac is crucial to cool the batteries
I own a MME GT. This is the DUMBEST design to get to the 12V battery - What the hell were Ford thinking?
I assume they were hoping that people bring their car in, so at least the dealers make some sort of money on the EV's.
the main battery is topping up the 12V , so they probably dont expect anyone ever to swap it or touch it
