More informative than most on CZcams. However the wire to the window pillar did you pry the plastic off or just flex it enough to get the wire behind? The rear dash cam wire did you silicon it or not?
I did not remove any plastic, weather stripping or panels. They are flexible enough to pry over and slide the wire behind. I did not silicone the grommet yet as I want to see how is seals on its own. Thanks for watching and the comment!
@@MoreBear Thanks for the info
Way too complicated
@@TagTeamMusic1 is this a joke? I actually find this install easier than in my other cars. The fact he didn't even have to remove any panels is better than most. Even the glove box could probably be avoided.
Great vid. Do you have the link the fuses you purchased on amazon? I bought a kit but the fuses don't fit.
I was able to get my wire through the rubber on the right using a zip tie. Feed it through and then carefully fish it while pulling and working it through with your other hand. Didn't dissamble it anymore than shown in this video for anyone wondering.
That's a great tip. Please like and subscribe. Thanks for sharing and for watching! Drive safe EVeryone!
Great vid! Thank you for showing how a regular person can install one of these systems - makes me feel better about trying it!
That was the whole idea behind the video. A little knowledge goes a long way. Guys, Girls, kids and the elderly are capable of more then they know. Good luck with your install. Let me know how it goes or if you run into issues. Thanks for watching and the comments
Just picked ours up in Strathmore, AB... after not hearing anything from Kia about our EV6 pre-order... and THEN finding out they were selling at least one gt line unit for 85,000. More than 20,000 over MSRP. We had a good experience with our dealership too and the car is excellent. Nice ride!
Thank you. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have been. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other video ideas. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Thanks man you rock. Routing past the B pillar is exactly the info I needed and wanted to make sure it wouldn't mess with the air bag system
Glad I could help. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Great vid! I just picked up a Thinkware Q1000, due to the remote cloud monitoring while in parking mode. Will be tacking this today!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and the comment!
Think i am gapping here...Are both the front and rear camera tied in together and into the fuse box via the micro fuse taps? Really enjoyed your video and thanks for posting!
The rear camera is tied into the front camera. The front camera is powered by the fuse tap. I hope it helped you out. Thanks for watching and the question.
Thanks for the video, it truly helped me install a Viofo A139 Pro. Incidentally, I got the same fuse adapters from Amazon. One question: did you check that the direction of the adapters is adequate?
Glad it helped. I did not check the direction. I merely installed the tap for what was most convenient to fit in the location. No problems so far. If you want to do some further reading: dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/quick-question-which-direction-should-i-point-this-fuse-tap.45111/ Thanks for watching and the question.
Yes I know which direction I have to place the fuse, I just didn’t check it while putting it because I assumed you had checked… 😅
I actually have the GT so fuse 3 is being used by a module I yet don’t understand what it does. As I understand, if the position is wrong the wire may get strained since more current is being drawn.
@@aaragonPHD The dashcam draws so little that I assumed there would be no issue. Ultimately the circuit is protected. And sometimes there is only 1 way the fuse tap will fit. Thanks for the comment. Take care.
Is the hardwiring draining your 12V battery? Are you getting any battery drain alerts on the system
Me personally I am not getting any noticeable drain or warnings. My dashcam I can set a threshold where it turns off after it has depleted the battery past a specified voltage, but I have not had this occur yet. Thanks for the question and for watching! Isn’t fuse 3 Extended power module? It shows it being used in fuse box diagrams pictures online.
Not from what I can see. Thanks for the question and for watching! Please hit that Subscribe Button if you enjoyed the content!
@@MoreBear Mark, I think you are like me and have a GT and the OP does not. I believe Fuse 3 is for the Track Extended Mode, which a non GT does not have. Personally I am going to use Fuse 1 (or 2) for that reason, which are also 5a accessory only on.
How critical that module is? I also have a GT but only read this comment too late… 😖
Thanks for the video any chance you know the part number for the panel you removed above fuse box cover with white foam at 6:00?
Not sure on the part number but its the fuse panel cover the sits behind the passengers feet in the passenger footwell. If you have floor mats it will be partially located behind that. Merry Christmas. Thanks for watching and the comment!
