jeebus thats a detailed list, thanx heaps for it, i was about to buy a ps4 controller to replace my ps3 controller (charging ports a bit screwed, can't charge and play at the same time and its hard to charge itself sometime etc, i'm just antsy) i can't stomach paying $50 when i can get a ps4 controller for $80 and upgrade to ps4 later this year but so many games i wanna play thats not supported, what should i do ? lol

This tutorial was very short and to the point, which was exactly what I was looking for. Another thing you could do is, if you don't have an extra controller besides the ps4 controller, then what you could do is use the wired method to get to the bluetooth menu, then after you start scanning for the ps4 controller wirelessly, then you would unplug it and then make it enter wireless mode

It actually worked, I'd recommend the wireless route. Plugging in the controller only works if u kept it plugged in from my personal experience.

Not to mention I had a game in the disc drive as well so this kid got a PS4 with 6 games for $60. I spent $200 on the games and dlcs and I'm still mad at my dad for pulling that one on me.

@@raysh____19 try going to the controller setting and setting whatever controller your trying to use to number 1 with the current controller that’s working, I had to remember ps3 had controller rolls mines wasn’t working when I set my ps5 controller up to it cause it wasn’t the main controller connected that could controller everything

How do you enter the menu to quit a certain game once you're in it though? It seems that option doesn't work whilst using a PS4 controller on PS3.. it's annoying to have to manually turn off the system everytime in order to switch between games, etc.
That function is not supported when using a ds4 on ps3 so you have to use an original or 3rd party ps3 controller (3rd party must support it as well) or eject your game, If digital continue turning it off every time.

this saved my ass, just got a used ps3 and the controller would not charge, so it had to be connected and the cable\controller was barely working and i tried playing skate 2, then i found this video,

Thank you it did work but just to let you know you don’t have to use your PS3 controller, while your PS4 remote is blinking you could connect the USB back to the PS4 remote and move everything to your PS4 remote is paired with your PS3 system
