keep in mind that its not going to work with every game unfortunately. I tried a PS4 controller with DMC HD Collection and for some reason the game couldn’t read the controller inputs. Its not a huge issue since the game is also available on ps4 & XB1. I then tried Star Ocean International and everything on the controller worked except the left analog stick. So I couldn’t move my character at all. Finally I tried Castlevania Lord of Shadow and The exact same problem occurred where the Left analog stick wouldn’t Respond. This is something to try with every game in your library to see what works and what doesn’t. Its unfortunate that the PS4 controller will most likely not work with many games. Btw I tried these games with two different controls and the results were the same.
The options button works as the start button, the share is select. The only ones that don't work are the Playstation button, and the touch pad. Works great for Batman Arkham Origins. As long as you have it plugged in seems to work for any game ive tried.
Me and my dad love the black ops games on ps3 but he only has one ps3 controller so I used the wireless version of this and it works really well me and my dad are now being able to play our favourite games together which is awesome! I did have a ps3 but I sold it when I got my PS4 and I regret it a lot. Be sure to update your ps3 to use your dualshock4 wirelessly. You can do it by scanning for bluetooth devices after you hold PS+Share buttons for about 10 seconds until its lights start to blink (fast).

I think it is just more of that the PS3 supports any direct input controller (any wired controller that isn't the 360 controller) if you have a usb adapter for any classic game controller, lets use game cube for example, you could use the game cube controller on the ps3.

Bought a used PS3 recently to play older games-the PS3 controller it came with sort of went dead (I think the charger cable they sent me doesn't work) so I used my PS4's Dualshock 4 on a USB cable and it works fine-ish, I've only tried GTA IV (Complete Edition) so far and it works pretty alright, although without the home key, if I want to exit out, I pretty much have to turn the console off and on. It's not the worst but it's annoying. Just to confirm since I never owned a PS3 before (I was pretty much Xbox on that generation) is there a way to make the standard controller work wirelessly?
Actually You can have Rumble and working PS button if U use it like PS2 dualshock. If you connect together 2 adaptors. USB to PS2 and Brook Wireless adaptor for Dualshock4/3 for PS2 . Looks little bit weird but it is working better than official way. Your welcome.
with the dualshock 4 they changed to slot to micro usb so we have to get new cords which sucks but if you need a micro usb cord i suggest going on amazon because I bought one that is 15 ft for 5 dollars
Killzone shadow fall looks good. I think its going to put the killzone franchise on the must have games. It took call of duty 4 tries to blow up, Killzone also has color now took them long enough

They can patch it to where it would work lithe the vita where the touch pad can be the ps button, and it it's multi touch a start or select, or have you hold down another button to make it a secondary control. But I guess the question would be why would they want to, the controller isn't being made for that platform. It would just be a better idea to redesign the contours of the ps3 controller similar to the ps4

I lost my ps3 controller. Bought a ps4 because I was under the impression I could connect it anyways. Every video I watch it works, however, the user is already signed into their account. I’m starting off logged off on main screen. Is this possible. Can’t find a video / help for this. The controller blinks yellow above connected and blue if I press the middle p, but still doesn’t recognize. I reset the ps3 and the controller (little button on back) with no luck. Any other suggestions?
I did the same for my PS2 but eventually even with the solid condition i tired to keep it in the system just wore out, and i had the original PS2 system before they made the new ones and even doe i can turn it on games won't play on it anymore (this was around 2010). I already planned on keeping my PS3 i don't need to sell it for my PS4...guess i'll just have to put it to the test until the wheels fall off

How does the select button work? Since most games use Select for the map or inventory.
If you go the settings, you can use it bluetooth. Then, you reassign the controller to player 1, it works on anything. I may be a little late XD

The home button gripe might be software-based, so it could be fixed with a patch on the PS3, if Sony cares.

For some reason on 'Devil May Cry HD collection' on PS3 doesn't work right. The First DmC Works But the third doesn't.
