Hello, the Irish guy here. Unfortunately you're correct. I love the fact that I'm not the only one who thinks this about our football team. But I hate the fact that it is this way. The FAI have no interest in pumping any more money than they have to into any kind of sensible recruiting structure, and for years, it's just been lackluster mid tier players coming, staying longer than they should and then disappearing into the nether, contributing average performances at best. 'Afraid of the next step'. It's so true.
