  • I always seek out to try different types and brands of vinyl wrap. Anything from the more unknown Chinese brands of vinyl to the larger brand names we've come to know. Most brands of vinyl wrap tend to have distinguishable differences between each other. However, the main distinguishable difference between these to brands is mostly the price. One of these brands does appear to have a slightly improved glossy effect. This video will show you how each one looks and installs. It will also help you decide which one to use and which one to beware of.

I generally use Avery Dennison and 3m, but recently using Vvivid+. I have noticed differences in how they apply and stretch. Vvivid plus is actually pretty good once you figure out how to manipulate the material and love the variety in textures and colors. Recently wrapping my 07 Yukon Denali in Forged carbon ghost metallic. Beautiful results, but does take a little practice. Matte metallic is tough to work with as is. Would like to try Hexis next as I enjoy the challenge of trying something new.

I have recently purchased a 100ft role of glossy black from vividvynl. I saw an episode where you did comparison on all glossy blacks. The vivid had a protective covering along with 3m and maybe Avery. The vivid black was the only one you actually can heat and squeegee and when done remove the film and the wrap is the darkest black but also flawless because of the protective layer. Vivid is the only black glossy wrap that you can do that with is that correct?

If you think about it, firearms are the same way. The forgings for each AR receiver are made In only a few factories, after that they are shipped to respective brands were the final milling and quality control is checked. Only a handful of companies make their things from scratch. It’s most likely the same concept for vinyl wrap, where a lot of vinyl is made at certain factories and then sent to each brand where they do their own inspection and QC and maybe add their own touch to it.

Is there any point in buying Ino nowadays? With colored PPF starting to flood the market. I don't see any point in choosing slightly cheaper Ino instead of colored PPF.

Been buying HEXIS , reliable brand imo, even tho not all stuff is best in the biz, like carbon is pretty good but vivid is better on that one

I’m actually about to start a car collection and I want to wrap some of them in chrome, so I want to develop a lifetime relationship with somebody that does wrapping in either Austin Texas or San Antonio Texas. Is there anybody you would recommend in this area?

CK what do you think about Teckwrap Super Gloss HD series? they say the finish is paint-like because the vinyl has the PET liner. Maybe you could to a review of it. I was thinking about getting their True Nardo Grey. Ive been trying to get VVivid's Ultra Gloss Nardo but it hasn't been in stock for a year :(

It's a high tack film but the gloss is excellent.

@@CKWraps ive heard of that aswell, some installers say the tack is high and the film is thin which makes it rip, but when its installed it looks amazing. Maybe its a film more suited for a professional install. Ill take a look a KKvinyl maybe they have nardo in high gloss.
