    I can do my own mechanical work, so long as the price of parts aren't bad, cars like this don't intimidate me. In fact, the spark plug job on that looks like a dream compared to the 1/2 hour I spend trying to get a swivel socket with swivel extension past the header on cylinder 8 in my firebird when the back half of the engine is buried under the cowl lol. I'm actually looking at a Quattroporte as a possible daily. Thanks for posting up, these videos are very helpful.

    So here is my 5 cents. Spark plugs can be changed by anyone with no experience they cost $30 each= 180. Belts $200. Front rotors and pads = $700. Oil change= $130. Air and cabin fiters= 70. If you have patience you can do everything on this car yourself. If u want to spend money for no reason the total cost for these repairs will be around 5k.

    My Ghibli was leased through Ferrari-Maserati of Ft. Lauderdale. At the time of delivery, a service package was offered to me. The package included the first 3 annual services over a 3 year period for an astonishing $1200! I also opted for the road hazard warranty for an additional $1800. This one covered the tires and rims from any type of road damage. I replaced 2 rear tires and had all 4 rims resurfaced. All at no extra charge and w/no deductible whatsoever. There is a catch though. Both of these packages expire at 36 months. Seeing that my lease was for 39 months, one could easily lose track and miss out on their last covered service if they’re not careful.

      Olivier DeVries Yeap and cars are different. Manufacturers have their specs. I think it’s BMW that has the 100,000 mile spark plugs. I can’t remember.
      To a Maserati owner, is worth the price you pay for the “there can be only one,” stigma. I like it personally. Yeaaap, speed costs money, how fast ya wanna go?
      If ya think the price of plugs is bad, try finding fuel that’s 95 or better on the octane rating. Speed has it’s own challenges. Aviation fuel, or AvGas, works well, but pricey!
      I had to look up AMG. So Mercedes has a fancy car too? I’ll keep that in mind. I still love my Maserati. I’ve not been real impressed with Mercedes in the past, but the AMG is a sharp looking car. “Fun” sure has a new meaning...

This Mechanic who simply unscrewed 6 spark plugs and screwed in 6 more spark plugs, made 3X's that much. Pay for this service if you are only too lazy to do it yourself.

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 5 lety +2

      Maserati is changing they way Ghibli sales are. They are going to make less, option them out fully so you cant possibly buy a brand new Ghibli with few to no options and then create a demand for them at a higher price. Thats the way you solve the depreciation problem.

    • @guillermomiranda330
      @guillermomiranda330 Před 5 lety

Any car in the price range will outperform a Ghibli and do better than it in the long run.
