    Well it seems that running costs for Maseratis in the USA are a damn site cheaper than they are over here in Europe. In the U.K at least, Maserati dealers are always shared with Ferrari, so, that could potentially be a reason why the average annual service cost for a Quattroporte V6 S is around £780 (don't know about Ghiblis though... probably a bit less) Nonetheless, lucky Americans!

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety +2

      Yeah Aaron looks like it, and as you said the big reason is the dealership. If they are stand alone Maserati/Alfa, its a different story than it being Maserati Ferrari. Which is kind of a bummer, because it you had Ferrari money, paying Ferrari labor hours wouldn't be a problem but thats not what you purchased...

    • @neilcoleman4126
      @neilcoleman4126 Před 6 lety

      True, as my local Maserati dealership shares with Ferrari but to be honest, my last Mercedes CLS 250d service (A Service|) cost me £675 so there's not a lot in it between the old Merc and new Ghibli really.

  • @fredsmith601
    @fredsmith601 Před 6 lety

    Thanks for the info Ron. Think I need to move me & my Ghibli to Daytona Beach. In line with Aaron Hussain comments below, In the UK the annual service cost for my Ghibli is around £1000.00 - this is the standard service costs ( no extras). I assume as Hussain mentions that it could be that we pay Ferrari Technician rates as the two marques are usually combined in the same dealership. Although i will add, for that price I do get free biscuits & copious amounts of good coffee personally served :-)

  • @Theriony451
    @Theriony451 Před 6 lety

    For that service at a Maserati/Alfa Romeo official service it's a very good price, for not saying a real bargain. If I live closely I definitely go there -:) I wish to have that pricing when I go with my Alfa to the Alfa Romeo dealership here. The same exact service(Inspection,Motor Oil and A/C filter) was last time 301,29 €! And in some other normal brands it's even higher cost for same service.

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety

      Glad its a bargain there as well! I didnt even think about the diesel engines since we dont get them here in the states. But its a reasonable price for two years of service. The third year service will be the big one!

  • @atlantikav5902
    @atlantikav5902 Před 6 lety

    Wow so cheap in the USA, we get ripped off here in the UK, an oil service for my Ghibli was £780!...total rip off, that’s why I sold the car and bought a Tesla Model S. Maserati need to get the service costs sorted here in the UK and bring their service costs into line with BMW, Mercedes etc., I would consider a Quattroporte next, but not until the service costs are acceptable!

      @shengyuanliu9866 Před 6 lety

      Exactly! BTW dude I'm curious that does Ghibli has a bad steering wheel system...? I have the 2015 base model and always feel the steering is slightly bearing left. When I moved the steer to the center position the car slowly move to the right side. Did the alignment twice and still a bit not correct. Test drove my friend's 14 SQ4 and also has the same problem. Don't know if i'm just unlucky...

    When I was thinking about getting one of these two years ago, some of the hardest info to find was the Service costs. Dealers will always say it varies or that buying the service pack is the better deal.
    Questions
    1) How many miles do you have on the car?
    2) How do you think the interior has held up so far? I loved the Zegna package but was worried that the silk inserts would get stained or torn easily.
    My XF lease it up next year so I might hit you up for a car if you don't mind shipping to So-Cal and give a good deal Ron!

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety

      No problem!! Im here to tell as much about the car as possible to help potential buyers make a decision. To answer your question, I have 18k miles on my car and the Zegna interior has held up very well! I think I have one little stain on the drivers side door but I do take care of it. The black piano wood scratches easy though. So thats the worst part if you get that trim.

    • @JCSLookOut
      @JCSLookOut Před 6 lety

      At first I was really thinking GranLusso, but now the more I look into it I'm really leaning towards the Sport.
      Really Dope seats on the sport and the fancier wheels and skyhook means the car will really have a different driving feel.
      Loved your videos on the GranSport Levante as well!

    I spend more then $350 just on my Lexus in a year. Also the nicer of the car you got. More of a bullseye the auto places try to take you. Jiffy Lube screwed me twice over the same thing. Thinking I'm going be foolish to go back to them. I must be rich to be taking advantage of.

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety +1

      Let me know if you come by! It all depends on how much you drive. I didnt do it for mine because I dont drive often. So I knew I wouldnt benefit from the package. But if you're going to put miles on the car and plan on keeping it for a while, its worth your time for sure!

    I’m thinking of getting a Ghibli, I really appreciate this videos, quick question, do you think that the Maserati is as bad as some say I some videos, I’m just a regular non expert driver , I see it as a jewel almost, do you recommend it ?

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety +2

      I think people are so harsh on the car because of the brands history and they consider Maserati being a sell out and watered down from what it was before. My advice is, go see it for yourself, drive it, and if you love it and can afford it, who gives a damn about what others feel or say.

    • @Viktor9502
      @Viktor9502 Před 4 lety

      My uncle just bought a 2016 ghibli s q4 with 16k miles for 32k. It's a nice car, but theres better options I think. I'd rather buy an audi s6. The s6 is like 5k more but I think it's worth it. The performance is better imo.
      The ghibli is a very heavy car and that's what holds it back. Its quick, but my 2017 mustang gt performance pack beat it pretty easily during a roll race. It's just too heavy of a car. It is a nice looking car though, definitely gets attention. But for an all around performance sedan, I think the audi s6 is way better than the ghibli.
      Fyi on insurance costs, it's not as bad as you think. My uncle is paying $1100 for full coverage, but keep in mind his driving record is clean and has been driving for almost 20 years.

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 5 lety

      Unfortunately I dont think they are. I had to fight with Maserati over my brakes warping prematurely. I would check to see if you may need new pads but Masi usually labels that as 'wear and tear.'

      Rons Rides I even avoid going to the Ferrari dealer because i know the labor is gonna be more expensive. I have no idea why they charged so much. Just normal oil change, filter, etc. Btw Rons, do you know what is really cover under basic 50,000/4 yrs warranty . I recently have some engine problem on my ghibli. The check engine light just popped up while driving on the road. I guess it’s probably the spark plug problem. My nearest dealership is like 70 miles away. I will just get it fixed locally if it was not covered by warranty. Thanks so much :)

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety

      Yikes! Yeah they are charging a little much if you ask me! The 4 years is a bumper to bumper but I know that I had my spark plugs changed on my first Ghibli when I was having issues and it was under warranty. I would give your dealer a call and let them know the problem because that should be fixed free of charge.

  • @blackwater3802
    @blackwater3802 Před 5 lety

    4 years and $70K in depreciation from new, nothing goes down faster, who cares about maintenance? Ferrari is backing out of supplying engines also to Fiat-Chrysler in 2020. $700 in service, $70,000 in depreciation, you do the math, but your not going to make it up with cheap tires.
