I have a 2004 F150 SuperCrew - new to me and I'm loving it. I watch your videos b/c it hypes me up for my next project with it. Can't wait to get off work lol.
I have a very small camper, basically a bed I hauled on my 2005 Dakota. I added air bags to the Dakota. Sold it when I got my dads 2008 F150. Added Firestone bags today to it. Filled them with 14psi of air. took it for a drive with my son. Son now wants a set for his 2018 Ram 2500.
All that extra hardware! I just took mine to a place that makes and repairs springs . They put extra springs in mine. Bent them along with my stock ones to give me 3 inches of lift. Gave me 1200 extra pounds. They did all the work while i was drinking coffee. They worked great! It was clean and only cost me $300 .
And you can’t adjust it based on tow weight. 😂
Glad you got the air bags installed on the F150 especially when you tow a utility trailer was that utility trailer heavy
I’m getting them as soon as I buy a trailer, thanks for the content.
Thanks for the view! 🤙🏻
Did you have a leveling kit on your truck and then install the bags?
Would these work if the rear didnt have a lift kit?
Yes
I’m thinking about doing this too my f-150 but I’m worried about the airbags breaking if I flex my axle is that’s something I should worry about
I’ve had no issue at all. I take the truck off-road and see the Axel flex a lot and I haven’t had any issues
Ty
Sorry What brand are they ??
You live the life I want
Appreciate it my guy 🤙🏻
How rough do they ride empty? I bought A GMC Sierra that already had airbags and she rides rough as heck. I'm seriously thinking about taking my airbags off just so I don't get bounced off my seat when I run over A bump in the road.
If you keep them around 5-10 psi it’s just like factory. Now if you’re riding with no trailer and have them at 40+ psi you’ll definitely feel the back end bouncing around
@@JayThompson25 I even let all the air out of both bags and feel bouncing around. It feels like I am in A F-305 instead of A GMC 1500.
How did you put those 09-14 mirrors on your 04-08 f150, with the wires for the turn signals? For an example, if I signal left, both my mirror signals turn on both sides. Any advice?? Thanks
The harness changed in 07 I believe! You could possibly use a meter and find the harness wire on the truck and see how it pins in to the new harness on the mirrors
Try the Lincoln truck mirrors. I have them on mt KR 2005 F-150. Heated, foldable, and turn indicators on front and back of mirror. Obtained from A1.

Your leaf springs are also de-arched
Does anybody know why some of these airbag kits bolt like these over the axle tube and others land on top of the leaf spring? Is one better than the other?
If anyone wants to know, I found out the difference between over-the-spring and over-the-axle airbag kits. The "over-the-spring" air bag kits are easier to install with no modifications to any lines or brackets that are part of the truck but do not work well if you have a 5th wheel set up in your bed, they are best used for bumper pull trailers. The "over-the-axle" airbag kits require relocation of wiring and a bracket being modified to clear the airbag mounting hardware but work on both bumper pull and 5th wheel trailer setups. So if all you do is bumper pull trailers the over-the-spring are your best option. If you have a 5th-wheel trailer or bounce back and forth between the 5th-wheel and bumper pull trailers then go with the over-the-axle option.
So mine has a drop and notched frame how would I go about this 😢
Not completely sure. Might have to look into having a custom mounting plate set made if your frame isn’t in the factory specs
I didn’t see the “level” you showed it too fast. Tape measure before and after would help lol
Is your front suspension stock ?
2.5 inch level 🤙🏻
what do you do with your bags when they arent needed do you just let the air out?
Yes. You have to keep at least 5 psi in the bag at all times but other than that yes you just deflate
I have a 2016 F-150 with a 4" lift. I sometimes haul heavy trailers or heavy loads in the bed. I installed a Firestone air bag set, and an Air Lift wireless compressor system. The compressor can be controlled either from the Air Lift remote, or the Air Lift app on my phone. It's more about convenience, such as pulling into the feed store and then just clicking the app to air up the bags, rather than having to dig out my little compressor. czcams.com/video/AfduMwQvwh4/video.html
Hear me out, get an inverter near the battery.... and then just store a compressor and extension cord in your truck box if you need it. If you don't, no harm just leave it home. That spares you from having to plumb in an onboard compressor.
That’s what I do essentially. I don’t have on board air, but it would definitely be handy!

@@scottcoffelt329 Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!
Umm you are just hiding visually that the truck is having a hard time with the weight. Nothing changed in how it is actually handling the weight, now it just looks like it is. Just physics bro.
