  • Have you ever wondered "Why is my PS4 LOUD?" In this video, I will show you how to clean your PS4 and fix that LOUD FAN noise you hear! This is an EASY METHOD and can be done in minutes when you have the right tools!
First you will need compressed air, a philips scrw driver and a 2mm flat hear or a TORX TR9 Security Scrwdriver! for the T9 scrws on the back of the PS4.
When opening up your PS4 to fix your fan noise and to CLEAN your PLAYSTATION 4, remember that this will void any warranty you have. However, this will be a non issue for most. Cleaning your PS4 fan is a breeze.... literally with compressed air, you will be able to see the dust fly from the vents surrounding the fan. No need to go out and buy a PS4 cleaning kit, you can get most of the stuff you need at Walmart or a local store.
Also, try cleaning the fan before you decide to replace the fan completely. Because after cleaning the PS4, it should run smoother and quicker! With LESS NOISE!
Don't worry about your Ps4 making louse fan noise or loud fan during gameplay. CLEAN YOUR PS4 NOW! ...

My fan wasn't that dirty, but my power supply litreally had so much durt inside it was pointless to clean, it made no difference. But still if you spend a little bit if time, you learn of lot of things along the way, as you go. I do recommend getting the right screwdriver, because if you don't have it, those security screws ain't coming off.

When putting my power supply back in, the fit felt a little tight. The console would not turn on. Turns out, there are 2 silver prongs sticking up next to the power supply connector. Mine were slightly bent and both inserting into the same slot. Be sure they have the proper gap between them and are not bent. Once I adjusted the gap, the power supply inserted smoothly and the console is working normally.

When I re-assembled my ps4, it did not turn on again. Only the blue light blinked for a short time. How I fixed it: After I removed the power supply, the two silverish metal pins that go straight up were bent towards one another, so that they went into the same hole of the power supply. They need to be separate, as you see in the video and go into different holes of the power supply, so I bent them apart again. May this help someone who runs into the same problem. Happy gaming.

After a disgusting time trying not to breathe this brown dust and roach carcasses, a little compressed air here and there, I muted my TV and MY GOD. There is no sound. My PS4 is making r2-D2 noises as if it's able to compute at it's normal speed again, I'm so happy to be able to hear myself think with my PS4 on and not have this jet airplane noise just whirring away in the background. PERFECT! Thank you so much. I always air compressed the outer side vents, but clearly it's the insides I had to get to. The fan was super LOUD last night...it's been a while since I played PS4 (had this since 2013 also), ended up turning the system since it felt like it was running hot also. Took my time step by step with this video..yeah, super dusty inside, fan especially. I did have trouble with 2 of the 3 T9 screws on mine though...both on the sides ( 4:03 , 4:12 ). My T9 screwdriver had trouble turning these..as if it was already slightly stripped (eyeroll), no idea why...first time I opened this. A 5/64" flat head was able to loosen it though and tighten back when I was finished. Anyway, turned it on...running a game and the extremely loud fan / RPM is totally gone, no major heat being dissipated. Thanks so much again. Happy New Year!

This worked like a charm! Thanks man!
Just an FYI though: My PlayStation had two pins connecting the power supply to the motherboard which made it a bit tricky to take it out and put it back in, so be careful not to bend those pins! The pins are placed next to the screw on the bottom left corner. All you have to do to get the power supply out is pretty much as in the video, but as soon as the top left corner is free you have to pull the bottom left corner straight up. When putting the power supply back in it doesn't slide easily back in. You have put it back in at an angle and GENTLY push it down on the bottom left corner. Once again - be careful not to bend those pins!
