During the first vid, those were not “eyes”. That was in fact firelight breaking through my encampment while I was filming from the other side. Some folks originally commented on other parts of the vid where eye shine was caught, but I clearly state in the video that those were deer passing by my camp roughly 3 hours after the noise that woke me up initially. I even managed to catch some deer bleats. Now what I initially heard has puzzled me for a long time, until recently.
I poured through audio files of all kinds of local animals for a good bit after filming that video and surprisingly, the two things that came close were Sasquatch and mountain lion. Even then, I was only left with speculation and I prefer to lean towards cold hard facts. I never openly claimed either until a good friend of mine, that knows that mountain backwards and forwards, had an encounter in the same vicinity.
He came upon a mountain lion while hiking last year. This fawn colored cat about the size of a full grown German Shepard jumped out onto the trail up ahead of him by about 20-25 feet. That was enough for me. I’m fairly confident now that I heard a mountain lion that night and I know some of ya will be like “eh big deal”, but considering those cats were hunted out of this area back in the 1930’s, it’s a huge deal imho. Especially when the forestry service has denied their presence in the Cherokee national forest for years. I’m glad they are making a comeback.

You wouldn't believe, I have come across some really stupid campers, maybe they were just starting out but, bringing only snacks and noodles in wilderness instead the real food that's gonna nourish you and not carrying enough water and especially tools, i have seen countless ppl with no adequate tools when they're inside wilderness, guys be careful out there.

I was camping in the mountains of Colorado several years ago by myself and was awakened by something big licking the side of my tent. Got very spooked and made a loud noisy to try and scare whatever it was away. I heard it moving so I opened the door of tent and looked out with my flashlight. It was a full grown cow that free range in the area. It could have easily been a bear, but thankfully I got a good laugh out of it 😋
The next time don't hike alone and use an electric grid around your tent.

Have hiked and camped in the mountains many times alone with no issues. Also had encounters with black bear, elk and mule deer several times. The scariest one was with a huge bull that became very aggressive and it must have thought I was on his territory and began pawing the ground and putting his head down so I slowly backed up until I was in the bushes enough to high tail it out of there. As long as you are aware of your surroundings and know what to watchout for it's quite safe.@@TessaractAlemania-hd7tv

True story: my dad spent the night at his father's home after his funeral before flying home the next morning. He sat and watched tv before going to bed. He was laying in bed that night and heard thumping like footsteps but a minute later the furnace kicked on so he went to sleep.the next morning he was going through some old boxes left upstairs and found a cellphone that clearly didn't belong to anyone he knew. He looked through the cell phone and called one of the more recent numbers. The owners boyfriend answered, come to find out the cell phone was stolen. The search ended with a security camera footage at a local Walmart showing a man stealing the womans cell phone. The theif was standing upstairs while my father was watching tv because the only exit to the house led through the living room. The footsteps was the man leaving the house after my dad had gone to sleep. 3 days later the man was caught for petty theft. The police questioned him about the break in and he said he saw the obituaries and went to the house not realizing that anyone would be staying there.

@@BB-ts2gu the stolen phone was from a woman at Walmart that got spotted on cc tv when she stepped away from her cart the same guy went into her purse and stole it. Not sure why he left it at the house though maybe because he just didn't need it I doubt it was because he was smart enough to think about leaving it to throw off the police considering he was known for breaking into houses in the area.
Guy doesn’t bring water because he hopes to find some in the cave. Real smart. He probably left his empty tin of beans and other trash behind too.

I've submitted my story of what is best described as a thing that came in the night while my friend and I were camping in the superstition mountains in hopes of finding anyone else who has had the same experience out there. Of the 6 channels I've submitted it and resubmitted it to over the years, not one has picked it up yet and used it. Unfortunately I have no video because it happened in 1978 when video cameras weighed a ton, used cassette tapes and were not very good.
Yes I've shared it on social media in groups that I'll just say are filled with nuts who give crazy explanations, but no similar experiences.

Something to take note about, is that these specific youtubers don’t cater their videos about anything scary or horror related at all. Thus making these clips all the more gut wrenching. I believe, that the probability of them faking these is low but who knows.
I’ve got my fair share of creepy camping encounters.
But this video convinced me to get a wildlife camera with wifi connection. That way I have a night camera outside the tent to check what’s around.
Imagine hearing that sound in the cave from the chain that you came in on just to have to leave on that same chain
The mannequin museum to me almost feels like the Scottish equivalent of that one campsite decorated in Missing Persons posters.
People will build weird shrines & things like that out in the middle of nowhere if for no other reason than for no obvious reason.
Yeh it's just across the river tay, that forest. 15 minutes from me. Its a busy place in the summer, probably some local annoyed with holidaymakers trampling over their forest.

Makes me remember when me and a buddy were camping in a wood in Germany. I woke up the night to sounds of a boar around the tent, poking the wall with it's snout. Scariest encounter in my life

@@TheGameMakeGuyyoung male boars are known to be quite territorial and can chase people for miles. 99 out of 100 times, they don't since they're super shy, but if they're not - start worrying. they're the most dangerous animals in many countries. They go for your legs and rip open your arteries with their tusks while being twice as heavy as you - that means they also brought knifes. The females do that too btw. Every year, a couple of hunters with riffles die that way since those things can eat a bullet or two and still fight. Best of luck to you with your knife. Better kill it right away or you just created one angry and desperate beast.
Carnivores, except for the absolute top of the food chain predators such as lions or polar bears, are less dangerous in many regards. They need to hunt and thus they only take calculated risks. One injury and they can't hunt and thus starve. Animals that eat plants or insects can survive injuries much better and take greater risks. Anywhere you go on Earth, if it eats roots and such and outweighs you, you stay away

7:09. While this is creepy, there is a good chance that the man seen in the video was just trying to figure out whose vehicle it was. Note that he took pictures of the license plate directly. While it is possible that he had more nefarious intentions in mind, it is also possible that he was taking pictures to report the vehicle to the police.
That's what I thought. A thief or killer wouldn't bother with licence plate details.

I will never forget camping in Mt. Carmel National Park in Haifa in 2021. I walked along the trail and could hear wild boar and also all types of strange animals that night on the path. I remember I camped on the path and barely slept as wild boars came right up to the tent, and then I remember hearing someone hiking past me at 3:30 am when it was pitch black outside. Also that fact that it was 90 degrees the whole night as well was an issue. Never forget that night!

As someone who lives in a van I feel that last one..
I use to live my other van here in New Zealand and on our back roads and highways its pretty desolate and isolated sleeping in a isolated carpark and hearing cars pull up and people get out and walk around its an intense feeling I've never been bothered by people but the fear of a random person trying to get into your camper is scary. Now I have a camp and sleep in a new van.

This is late but it’s used as a tactic to scare off predators. Predators tend to lurk more towards quiet voices since it reminds them of prey and how they try to hide. However if you are loud, they’re a lot less likely to approach. Plus talking to yourself is a way that the brain keeps you focused and reduce panic.

Going on a 2 week camping trip soon, this made me look forward to it even more lol
My hubby and I were camping in a pretty popular State park when I was awoken by strange noises I couldn't id. Tried waking my fearless protector but no luck; he can sleep thru a bomb blast, anyway I finally had to use the restroom, which was only about 100 yds away, so screwing my courage to the sticking point, I Really NEEDED to go I crept out into the dark which wasn't really and straight into a herd of white tail deer!!! They apparently lived in the park and always liked to check out the new guys
The manikins are probably someones idea of an art installation/video project. Given the paint decoration, multi coloured fence slats etc, it just has that kind of spaced out art student feel to it.
That's what I was thinking or that it started with one and then others started doing it - like padlocks on a bridge or a gum wall.

Yeah, because when something weirds me out, I usually approach right to the vehicles windows with my light and take pictures
@@SuperSpeederCarl he could have been reporting the vehicle to the police. Never know. Thinking someone missing could be in there or something. Idk it's scary for sure being in that situation but I don't think buddy had serious malicious intentions

There are no eyes in the first video. It's just embers from his dying fire, which is why he didn't mention it, or seem alarmed by it. He lit the fire, he knows it's there, and he has no reason to be afraid of it

For the first video, he probably heard the "scream" of a female fox (some call it a vixen's scream). It's a weird sound, and depending on the fox, can definitely sound unnatural and/or startling. Search youtube for female fox screaming if you're curious.
Theres a lot of foxes in my area, and thank god you told me about that. because I swear if I would go camping and hear this I'd flip my shit. These shrieks sounds so unnatural

The scariest story I had with camping is almost accepting to go camping....
I'd never agree to go either. While animal encounters are so terrifying, to potentially encounter a serial killer is my worst nightmare.
I love camping here in aus. But I still get the heebie-jeebies when it's pitch black and dead quiet. A couple of years ago, I heard odd noises close to the tent. It was a wild boar. My big tough boyfriend shit himself and stopped tipping leftover food onto the ground after that.

Camping is the best, although the animals can’t really get to you hear in Australia, I’m sure if we had bears or wolves it would be a lot more frightening
@@PongLenis1 Wolves are not really a threat but bears can be. Last fatal wolf attack in continental U.S. was in 1893. This excludes rabid and captive wolves. Fairytales and Hollywood have done too good a job vilifying the poor creatures.
I appreciate the effort you go to making sure everything on here at least seems pretty legit. So many channels just compile obvious fake videos out of laziness, but your videos i can count on never being disappointed. Just thought I'd point out the work that must take turning down easy options in the pursuit of a better video

@@TheLowest People assume deception and malice in everything on the internet (which in all fairness a lot of it is). But yeah my first thought when seeing the clip was also that those were eyes in the bottom right. Good thing it was clarified by the person filming it that it was actually a mountain lion making those weird sounds.
That first one was probably a mountain lion encounter. They have a habit of making the most terrifying sound ever, and then stalking you.
