When I started learning manual I used this method to select the gear and as I continued learning the car just speaks to me to change Gears and that’s the bond we all make with out car 😊

3RD 20-40 KMPH
4TH 45-60/70
5TH UNLIMITED UPTO 200KMPH

i would say.... according to my personal driving experience
1st gear 0-20 (for a pickup when ac on)
2nd gear- 20-45
3rd gear- 45-80
4th gear- 80-120
5th gear- 120-190
I've personally tested the maximum pull on each gear on my ertiga vxi 2023 petrol
It's stupid to select gear based on speed. You should judge the appropriate gear based on RPMs and how much acceleration you want

Yes I agree, it is something you pick up when you get more experience but learners are taught gears by speed which in most cases is ok. 3rd for 30 for example.

just shift at 2k-2.5k revs man
Depends on the car. Some cars like vtec and VVTI a vines like the be receding way higher than this. They can handle way more revs and the VVTI engine only gets its Variable Valve at 6.8k revs
Depends on the engine, some engines reach their maximum torque output at a higher/lower rpm than other engines.
Actually it depends on the top speed of your car cause some cars can go 0-40mph with 1st gear

Losten to the engine speed is irrelevant in selecting which gear to use. If it sounds high revving chang up if sounds lanoured change down. If you are on the flat at 60 then come to a steep hill and doing 6o and the car engine is struggling you need to change down

All i know 1st gear carries us up too 80 max 2 gear carries us up to 120 mph max 3 gear carries us to 160 quick and 4 180-200 5 gear gives a (floating) feeling 😅😂😊

Heights of tomfoolery, Gear Shifting must be done perfectly on Engine Revving
1st Gear- 0 to 15-20 KM/H
2nd Gear- 20 to 35 KM/H
3rd Gear- 35 to 50 KM/H
4th Gear- 50 to 65 KM/H
5th Gear- 60 or above KM/H
If there is a Sixth Gear then set on around 80 KM/H
4th gear is uptil 75-80 Km/h, you can use 5th gear while speed up past 75

Well that all depends on your car tho not every car will shift at the same speeds my gf citigo has to be in 3rd gear to be doing 20mph without the rev limiter going off while I’ve got a bmw and I can do 20mph in 1st so it all just depends on the car not all the same

They dont have automatic gears in the UK?
They do. There is a higher proportion of manual drivers in europe than automatic in general. Closer to a 50/50 compared to the Us being around 5-15%. Also consider that alot of the US manufacturer's mainly produce automatic cars aswell so manual cars can be seen as enthusiast and niche market.

If you follow this you will end up damaging your clutch plates and gear assembly.

Yes it can most probably but this is intended for eco driving, general driving obviously. 2nd gear can shoot you up to speeds fast but not used all the time
