I think it's rooted in the fact that comedy is, at it's core, just the subversion of expectations delivered in a well-timed and cleverly-delivered package. Watching this is seeing a father experience the true joy that can only be found through parenting, the joy that you get when your child has grown up and is off to live their own life, and that comforting feeling that you know they will be alright.

English secondary teacher here, I would never actually compare Slime to a teacher because his concept of classroom management (stream moderation in this case) is very strong-arm/iron-fist (i.e. he cracks down on "undesirable behavior" very harshly for a "teacher") but the way in which he talks about language/communication in a collaborative setting is very much in line with how we analyze dialogue in a literary piece, like a conversation out of a novel or play. the analysis of the flow of comedic speech is something you will see in a higher-level discussion around one of Shakespeare's comedies or a more nuanced book like Gatsby or East of Eden. tl;dr it's good slop and i want more pls thank u mr starr
