- In this video we will count down the most difficult and most often failed driving theory test so that you can ace these leaving only the easy driving theory questions. In this video you will learn about
1. The two way traffic crosses one way road sign explained
2. Two way traffic ahead sign
3. The time gap to leave between cars at various speeds (only a fool forgets the two second rule)
4. How much space to leave between your car and the car in front (simple formula to remember)
5. How to remember the stopping distances
6. Speed limit of road based wheelchairs and mobility scooters
7. What to do when your car goes into a skid
8. What is LPG?
9. What does a flashing amber light on a pelican crossing mean?
10. Police officer signals
Great video. Great understanding of road knowledge and highway code rules. I'd say I wouldn't disagree as an instructor. Hopefully people can pass with this help in video
Thanks for this comment. Much appreciated.
I just do an online test which asked what is the overall stopping distance at 50mph in good conditions and I chose 180ft. But the correct answer was 125feet so is this question wrong
I don’t understand what do you mean Only fool brakes in two seconds rule in time gaps
@@TheCompleteGuide1 Question 5 if you are still allowed to answer in imperial units (feet) there is an easier method. Now read all the way through because if you're not good at maths it sounds hard at first but there is an easy way to do it. The overall stopping distance is made up of two components Thinking Distance + Braking Distance = Overall Stopping Distance.
Thinking Distance This is easy it is just your speed in MPH expressed in feet to think in. 20MPH =20ft 30MPH = 30ft etc
Braking Distance This sounds hard but isn't The equation is velocity (Speed) squared / 20 So 30 MPH is
30 X 30 / 20 = Braking Distance Now you could say 30 X 30 = 900 / 20 = 45 but it is much easier than that
30MPH 30 but just multiply by the first number of the speed = 3 So 30 X 3 = 90 then because your answer is 1/10th of what it should be then we only divide by 2 not 20 so 30 X 3 / 2 = 45
So the Overall Stopping Distance(OSD) is 20 + 45 = 65ft
now if its not just say the idea of 50 X 50 that confuses you and don't even like 50 X 5 there is a further simplification.
Just multiply the first digit by itself then add a 0
20MPH 2 X 2 = 4 add a 0 on = 40 / 2 = 20 + 20 Thinking Distance = 40ft OSD
30 MPH 3 X 3 =9 + a 0 =90 / 2 = 45 + 30 = 75ft
40 4 X 4 = 16 + a 0 = 160 / 2 = 80 + 40 = 120ft
50 5 X 5 = 25 + a 0 = 250 /2 =125 + 50 = 175ft
Can't be bothered to write this out for 60MPH and 70MPH but you get the idea or I hope you should.
I was about to say that all the figures were based on a drum braked Ford Anglia which is what I have always believed but the figures are older still found in this site referring to 1945 braking distances. www.pepipoo.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t59947.html The figures are exactly the same.
Just for amusement czcams.com/video/lWmEbbPlQ_c/video.html
Question 7 About a skid in Icy conditions. Answer Remove the breaks. Turn into the skid.
You might do better removing the *brakes*
Turning into the skid was definitely the right answer for old rear-wheel drive cars. I've done it more than once. Also, whatever I say that is the answer that is required but for front-wheel drive cars the answer is a bit more nuanced in real life.
Excellent information
Theory test tomorrow morning hope this works ( passed first time!!!)
Good luck! , u got this...(* ̄0 ̄)ノ
How did it go? I have mine in a couple of hours :)
did pass?
I've got mine tomorrow!
@@c1audi4_ Goodluck
I know that dry weather should keep a two-second gap and double when it’s wet. And ten times on icy conditions.
Isn't 10x the stopping distance in snow? Not heard about a 10 second following distance yet.
@@Kholaslittlespot1 I just checked it...
The stopping distance is 10 times in ice (although technically, its the thinking distance + 10 × braking distance).
But that doesn't mean the gap is 10 times in ice, making it a 20 second gap.
The gap in ice is actually 5 times, making it a 10 second gap.
To summarise:
....................... Dry Wet Ice
Gap 2s 4s 10s
Stopping dist . × 1 × 2 × 10
Smashed my theory test last Friday. Got 49/50 on questions and 68/75 on hazard perception. Passed first time.

any tips for hazard perception?
@@benthompson7222 I’m not sure but try to space out your clicks and do it for anything that would slow you down but don’t go too fast clicking as you have a limit
Awesome scores, I think I can manage 45+ on questions, but worried about hazard, I'll just resit it if I have to.
did anyone ask...?
Literally on my way to my theory. fml
Update: passed 1st time🙃
Good luck 👍😊😊
Good Kyiv I’ve got mine today after 2 times failed
George Summers aw how did it go?
Well done 👍

Please re-address the second of your two way traffic triangles. The second warns you, not about crossing traffic, but about the fact that the road you are actually driving on changes from one way to two way, so you need to move to the left.
So do you move onto that two way lane? Thank you I was confused in this too
@@s.b9055 If you are going straight ahead you are still on the same one way street - nothing changes. But there is a two-way street crossing you - so you can turn either right or left onto that.
this sign is often used at the end of a duel carriageway or at the end of a one way system when ahead of you it becomes two way traffic
@@michaelreynolds8155 No it absolutely is not. This is the sign for two-way traffic crossing a one way street.
Also you are showing the two way street crossing incorrectly for the UK. In your diagram those vehicles are driving on the right!
I passed!! Thanks so much, good luck everyone you are going to smash it
Just passed my test thanks so much! The space gap reminder certainly helped!
Just a question. I'm taking my driving test this afternoon. Did you get many questions on point penalties? I can't remember those for the life of me.
This is amazing, thank lord you make this video. Great job
yes lad love this video haha thanks hope you have a wonderful life and that xx
Watched this vid before my test and I shit you not half of these came on my test.
I passed 49/50
And my hazard I got 71/75
Rasa seriously what type of questions did come up
Taiba Zahir Nearly all question are similar to the mock test on DVSA app, just different wording. So if you just memorize the questions and answer you should be fine.
The I hazard prescription test was easy cuz the video are slow af, felt like I was in my gramma car plus you can easily identify what is a hazard cuz it was literally screaming at you.
chanont5111 you are right they did change lot of different words, I was a bit confused
@@chanont5111 is the hazard perception difficult to do though? what would you recommend for me
Kieran G my instructor said to me is as soon as you see a hazard, click the mouse, wait 2 seconds and click again just to make sure you get it as if you click a little too soon the system doesn’t count it I made that mistake on my first time, I clicked them way to soon, so click it when you think it’s a ‘hazard’ then click again after 2 seconds to make sure you don’t miss it
I passed my Theory Test first time last week; Wednesday 4th of May, at Southwark (45/50 on Theory and 57/75 on Hazard Perception ) I had booked my test on 20th of April and had literally just 2 weeks to prepare for it. Working 60 hours a week, it was bound to be tough, and honestly speaking, I had my doubts and wondered if it was a mistake. First 3 days, I wasted my time, literally going through google searches on "How to pass driving Theory Test" or "Tips/Tricks to pass Driving Theory Test". Finally, on day 4 I got the app "Theory 4 in 1" and went through "Mock Tests", every day. I was on average doing 8-10 Mock Tests every day, with each Mock Test having 50 questions, which means I was literally going through 400-500 Questions everyday.
With just one week left, I was averaging 35-37 marks, in my Mock Tests. I had completely at that point, given up on Hazard Perception, focusing only on Theory Part. With just 3-4 days left, my average finally shot up to 45-47 marks. Whenever I got any questions wrong, I would write it in a sticky note and put it in my bathroom wall, kitchen wall, living room wall, bedroom wall and even on the fridge. I was going all out, going through those sticky notes, after waking up, before going to sleep, before eating, after eating, and even on brake time at work I would go through 2-3 Mock Tests.
Finally, D-Day and at Southwark Centre, my heartbeat shot up and I prayed and prayed, if only I had given myself more than 2 weeks, maybe I should've prepared for at least 6-7 weeks, so that I'd be more confident. Once I sat inside, and started my test, I reckon I was 100% sure with only 38 questions, meaning I had flagged 12 questions to come back later and go through them. I was praying all I need is 5 questions to be right. for the Hazard Perception, I was very focused, because it's mainly about spotting the Hazard, so you just spot it early and get 2 clicks and count to 2, then 2 clicks and then count to 2, then 2 clicks again.
After I came out, I was like - Jesus I flopped, I guess, I'll go home and book it again, but when the guy gave me the paper, I didn't even look at it for few minutes, only once I got to the bus stop that I checked and shouted sooo loudly, Hurraayyyy. Even I was shocked; 45/50, like WOW. But, what shocked me even more was Hazard Perception, where I got 57/75
Happy for you dude well done! Got mine is about 2 weeks also feel exactly like you haha
This was fun to read thanks for sharing! Have my test on the 28th and I'm using the same app. Only been doing a few mock tests, I am going to use your method of grinding mocks and writing down questions i get wrong :D
I failed my theory test four times because I didn’t study but when I put my head down and study for five weeks I passed and yesterday I passed my extended driving test 1st time so Keep the faith
Congratulations!
great video. i am making a note of this.this is a brilient.this are in the highway code. it would taking ages to take in. i like how you did it. easy to remember and understand. welldone

I love how sassy you are in the beginning. The shade! In all seriousness, great video.
Thank you thank you thank you today i watched your video and i have passed my theory test it was my third time and your guidness really help full brother keep it continue ❤️❤️
4:27 One way you can use the table without having to write it out is by taking the speed -20 then /10 then *0.5 and +2 and then you multiply your speed with that answer i.e. for 70 mph
70-20 = 50 /10 =5 *0.5 = 2.5+2 =4.5 4.5 *70 = 315feet
Failed my first time by 2 marks on multiple choice but doing it again tommorow. Pretty nervous tbh
EDIT: Passed! 45/50 on multiple choice and 61/75 on hazard perception. My advice for anyone currently stressing over their theory test is to use the Highway Code as your bible! I found everything else is pretty useless that I revised but looking at road signs etc really helped me.
is hazard easy
Saleem Hussain I found it easy without revising, just make sure to double click when you see the hazard so you don’t go too early or late.

The number 2 explanation at 2.05 seems somewhat incorrect, surely we are on a one way street or coming to the end of a dual-carriageway and then the road which we are on becomes a standard commonplace two way road. The two way traffic does not cross our path we simply then encounter oncoming traffic which we would not have previously. We should be aware of this sudden oncoming traffic hazard which previously did not exist.
I have to take issue with your explanation at 2.14. You give the same explanation as the previous sign which is different. The sign with two vertical arrows pointing in opposite directions indicate that you are currently in a one way situation and ahead this ceases and the road you are on becomes a two way road. The two way traffic is not passing across your path as indicated in the diagram. This sign is most often found where a dual carriageway ceases and becomes two way traffic. The two way traffic crossing sign is used where a one way street ends in a T-Junction.

If your worried about the test, don't be, the hazard perception is very logical and as long as you focus hard and utilise the 10 clicks you can't really fail. Just worry about the multiple choice questions, especially the technical ones which you can't work out just using common sense
