    Hello my friend! Nice! When the engine is inserted into the intex excursion 5 boat, the force of the engine pushes the inflated part inwards. another thing, the weight of people causes the floor float to resist in the water. the ideal is to make a rigid floor and improve the support of the motor, better distributing the force it places on the external float. (I'am from Brazil, I used Google translate)

    Two years later this motor is going strong czcams.com/users/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite

    Hey there, I found through experience of owning a IE5 over the last 4 years that having the motor mount ready assembled and fitting it is much easier shortly after starting to inflate chamber 2.

    If you get longer beams for the motor to extend through the ore holes it stops the motor from sagging! Nice video bro

      @@backtothe80s97 thanks for the response. I have a Tobin canyon pro and my intex mount and Suzuki 2.5hp motor arrives tomorrow.
      It appears the Tobin has a narrower rear section and I think this shape potential is stronger than the larger wide flat section of than the intex excursion. I am hoping this to be the case so that I don’t need to make any modifications.

    You could probably get some longer rods to connect further forward on the raft to stabilize the sinking issue.
    Good video BTW.

    I don’t have one yet but here thinking out loud.
    Maybe if the prop was adjustable and it was higher not so deep underwater it would push better rather than twisting the boat?
    Also, did you have the correct pressure, or could it be inflated a little more to make it more stiff

    Hey! Looking for a very quick reply here! Been watching for a while now. A pretty frequent commenter on the channel. Quick question- I was interested in getting a hangkai 12hp outboard motor. But my local boat dealer has Mercury motors on sale right now for the next couple of weeks and they come with a killer warranty too. Obviously you can’t go wrong getting a Mercury over a hangkai. What hp of Mercury would you say is equal to a 12hp hangkai? I remember you talking about this on a different video I just can’t seem to find it now.

    • @HufflerGarage
      @HufflerGarage  Před 2 lety

      You definitely can't go wrong with a Mercury over a Hangkai, especially if they are close in price!
      We're under the assumption that the Hangkai HP numbers aren't necessarily accurate. So I would say their 12 is probably similar to Mercury's 9.9 in the current 2022 lineup. Keep in mind that the Hangkais are 2 stroke and the Mercury will be 4 stroke so slightly different power delivery and more weight.
      That being said, if you've got the funding and your boat can handle it, I'd go with the Mercury 15 hp. For the 2022 models, it's only 15 lbs heavier than the 9.9 and it has EFI.

    Is the material of the board like any regular water tube??

    • @HufflerGarage
      @HufflerGarage  Před 2 lety

      It's similar to what you get on a towable. A step up from a pool float, but not near as nice as a PVC dinghy.

    Hey man, so I have a question maybe you could help me? So I have the excursion 5 and got a Coleman 2.6 hp and when I put it just in gear with idol the motor wants to sink in the water. So if the holes on the mount in the middle of it went all the way thru and maybe raised it, do you think that would help? Yes it's a 4 stroke motor. I also thought if I tilted motor a little that maybe that would help on not sinking the motor as long as the propeller was in and everything? Any thoughts??

    • @Teezythadon
      @Teezythadon Před rokem

      get longer stabilizing rods and attach thru the oar holders on top of the sides of the back of the boat. This will distribute and stabilize the weight and thrust of the motor

    Carrying acid batteries sucks just as much.
