I've had some downright horrible experiences with cops that just left me so sad for my city and our citizens. But I'll never forget the one cop who handled my mom's DV case. I had called the cops on her boyfriend for beating her several times as a teenager, but she would never admit to him putting hands on her and he wouldn't do it in front of me, always in the other room. So he gave me his card, told me to call him personally when it happened so he could ensure we were all safe. He told me not to worry because one day he WILL slip up and when he does, he'll be there. Well, he was right. One night, at like midnight, he not only did it in front of me but he pushed me against the wall and ripped the phone out of my hands and threw it (a felony) when I tried calling 911. So I ran across the street to the neighbors, called the cop, he came over in his plain clothes because he was off duty and a few minutes after patrol showed up. He made sure the BF was taken away and my mom got in the ambulance okay then stayed with me until my youth pastor and his wife got to my house to pick me up. It's been 18 years and I still tear up thinking about the kindness he showed me. Fortunately, my mom never went back to him. We sold all their possessions in a yard sale, the only things we didn't sell were things he could prove he bought on his own. Then we let his house go into foreclosure and left, never looked back.

@@kingkane I disagree. All interactions with cops are recorded via body cam. There is currently a PR nightmare, due the abuses, that once went undetected, now being documented. It would be in the best interest of many to release said positive interactions, there is a very strong incentive to upload them if they existed. The fact they don't says a lot. Secondly, and more importantly, your claim that they exist, but no one sees them, that evidence exist, it just isn't available, is an unfalsifiable claim. All we can do is deal with the evidence that exists. And that is endless hours of police abuses that have gone unchecked, you have a system with no checks and balances, you have the war on drugs, you have the highest incarceration rate of any and all first world countries, you have insiders and whistles blowers calling for reform, etc. etc. The evidence of systematic issues is quite overwhelming, any appeal to non existent evidence, a "good cop of the gaps" so to speak lol, only servers to reinforce your already deeply held beliefs about police, and allows for an easy dismissal of the evidence.
Thus is literally how 99% of incidents go. If majority went horribly, you'd know. You just don't see the good ones cause the news doesn't get more ratings this way
What do you mean? It is rare to see a cop escalate situations. The vast majority of cops are very nice and care about the communities they serve. You watch too much CZcams which shows the fraction of a percent of police interactions.
Except for where he doesn't know the law, yet FORCED this man, who might be totally legal and right in his actions. To go home and not exercise his freedoms how he sees fit. Since he's too lazy to look it up, he chose to ASSUME HE WAS GUILTY not innocent and force the man to surrender freedoms. Just because he was NICE while doing it, doesn't make him less an idiot tyrant

I watched this cop for 10 seconds and I already have mad respect for him. This just proves to me that there are, in fact, good cops out there.

Not very very rare at all lol, just rarely recorded for content online.
You just don't see the good ones cause the news doesn't get more ratings this way
@@kingkane Damn straight . Too many people think "popular on CZcams" means "often in real life".
