Funny, but the real reason was Chris and Shawn left Megadeth to start Act of Defiance. They wanted more creative freedom. Basically you had to play what Dave wanted and that's that.

Broderick had a very high level technical mastery of the guitar. Easily the most technical player they've ever had. His Achilles' heel is that he was unable to play anything memorable.
I disagree. Yes, Broderick is really good, but Kiko is just as good. Id say Kiko could play anything Broderick could AND play it cleaner. Broderick is not a sloppy player by any means, but Kiko prides himself on the cleanliness of every note he plays.

Kiko is cleaner overall, but Broderick could play anything Kiko could and vice versa. As an "advanced guitar player," which I doubt, you should have enough knowledge and experience to know that once you get on the level of these types of guys, there's not really anything you can't play. It really comes down to cleanliness and consistentcy, which is why I hold Kiko in higher esteem than Broderick.
