From the get go, really liked Chris's answer about his influence and how he wanted to to justice to Marty. Great humble answer.
That was totally cool I thought as well! Being a M.Friedman fan myself. Chris really is a true professional and conducts himself as such.🤘☢🤘 Also a phenomenal musician. Hell they all are for the most part. Lol🤘😁
Both marvelous players. Chris is mind-numbingly studied and Gus is a natural with ungodly chops. Cheers to each.
Chris is so down to earth,a great teacher.
Both these guys make Shredding look like a piece of cake. But are so damn INSPIRING!!!!!!
Shredding is easy! You put a sheet of paper in and the blades do the rest
@@oldgit4260 😂😂
@@oldgit4260 Haha!🤣
@@oldgit4260 you made my day..
They are both great guitar players and most importantly great human beings, down to Earth.
I had privilege to hang out with both of them. Gus G after concert in Saint Vitus in Brooklyn and Chris just last week at Gramercy Theater. I am blessed.
Two of the metal nice guys!
What's the name of conditioner are they using???
Lol
Pantene.
jerk-off oil
Hahahahhahhaa
@@daisynthy310 its your fear of being gay you project
"You know"
- Gus G
"That kind of thing"
Chris makes that guitar look like a children’s model.
What a meet! Gus G is a legend already here in Greece! We are proud to hear you every time.
Dudes are so relaxed, nothing to prove just enjoying being creative at the level they are at.
Great video, you guys are so inspiring. Thanks for this
I remember getting Into The Fire single in Metal Hammer ages ago... Boys done so well for himself. Chris is a great teacher ...
2 epic shredders
Wicked style's these two have! Really amazing!
Chris Broderick truly amazing !!!
meh, wouldn't go that far, he's fast and technical like a classically trained guitar player is, but it's boring with no soul, he has no style, you can tell a player that has style, Chris is robotic.
The Puzzled look on the face of Gus g after Chris Rips off the First Lick is Priceless... Like He Wanted to Leave...
snappypappy100 I noticed that as well! The look on Gus’ face is like WHOA!
who care about tone, listen to those phrases and how chris implies the harmony, it's pretty amazing!
Kelaiah Higgs Haha thanks i guess! too bad Gus didn't play the chord so people can hear how it goes against it~
Actually it sounds like shit.
I like their tone
I learned some leads on endgame and it helped my playing alot Chris is great. and Gus has a great natural style I love great players
Thank you for the great video with all the useful suggestions
Anyone noticed how Broderick breaks everything down to techniques and theory
Ewolf5150 made me laugh. Thx.
yeah because he's a very schooled player
I like that about him
Theory is easy
yeah, a soulless technician!
Guys, I watched you playing your amazing guitars here in Colombia, Amazing!!!
Pay attention boys and girls, these two are some of the best of today!
Cool! Masters!
Call Kiko Loureiro!
This comment aged well
I love everything about your music forever your awesome 💯💯🎸🎸🎸❤❤🤘🤘🤘
These guys seem so chill, I'd like to meet them some day.
Chris' tones are killer!!!
This is what guitar players want to see!
None of those djent players but, utter shredders!
Great vid.
100%
You listened to some bad Djent my friend.
David Rifkin There are some good djent songs out there but most of it just repeats itself.
Djent are shredders too...but they use 8 strings...not only 6 !!! (Messhugah, Conquering Dystopia,etc...). Open your mind and don't be trapped in the 6th dimension...;-).
i dont consider conquering dystopia to be djent at all
Broderick is on another plane.
more technical, not better.
Sloppy. Technically he’s on another level. I prefer Gus g’s feel
Broderick is insane! Unique!
Living legends 🤘🏻🙏🏻🎸❤
Gus' tone tho
Oh and...Go see Gus G. Holy shit that guy is great live. Best live guitar tone and accuracy I've ever heard. I took some guitar snob friends with me and everybody's jaw was on the floor. No offense to Broderick (who is great), but the one area Gus G is a monster is in string muting, which is a huge thing. He's playing on Blackouts here and they are hot pickups.
Correct but syn gates have pretty good guitar accuracy
What about Jake E. Lee, guys? He is awesome too!
And also better they are IMHO.
Anthony Cahoon get your facts right dumbass, it's the other way around
Awesome too?! These guys cant carry Jake E Lees jock strap. And they know it. Technical ability (as these two know) only really means so much.
no one mentions Jake. its like when they get hired by Ozzy, he tells them that they cant reference him, LOL. Jake is my fav!!!
This video isn't about Jake E. Lee.
Every generation takes guitar playing to a different level.
CZcams was a game changer...i had to stick my head between 2 speakers and learn by ear...scratching my records playing a part over and over.
2 legend's
Love these vids
Broderick signatures are gorgeous 😍
Its funny that a lot of metal lead guitarists may not have been "A" students in school, but listening to them describe the ideas behind their solos can be like listening to an engineer or physicist talk shop, lol.
My brain just exploded from all the shred!!!!!
I swear to god. Every bands lead guitarist is the most chilled and relaxed member of the band
Dave Murray and Adrian Smith for ex.
These guys are awesome
These two need to do an album together
Cacophony 2
@@Groovemyster Yes why not! lol
Two great players
man i love that sounds of Chris dam
Two Good natured and Extremely Talented Robots. :)
Both of these guys individually were my inspiration to pick up a Jackson and move over to Metal.
its nice to know that shredders know more theory than people think. much more. and I also enjoy minor 9ths myself 😂😂😂 and if I can get a diminished chord or scale in there, heck yeah. these guys are great, I love these guys.
Kevin Hughes would devastate both of these clowns
It looks like these guys shop for clothes at the same place, in addition to both playing the same style of music and wearing their hair the same way. They're clearly soul mates. Sort of like the heavy metal Siegfried & Roy, with guitars and tight black t-shirts in place of lions and glittery sport coats.
I ship it
Chris looks like really a nice and humble guy. I never saw him boast about his technical ability.
Muy buenos guitarristas. Guitarristas de calidad.
Some nice shredding! :)
You know counter: Broken
But i love those guys! Beasts! 🤘✌️
6:53 that’s a Dave mustaine solo with a Marty bend at the end
Chris is really healthy for his Age
He looks older than he is
Colin Michel he works out 6 days a
Weak
I met Chris at the San Diego airport about 8-9 years ago. I'd been out of musio for little bit and recognized Dave Mustaine but not the other guys (Megadeth was heading somewhere out of San Diego). I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't know who Chris was, but he was super cool and super nice.
practice is everything period
Viva salonica άντρα μου ,είσαι για μεγάλα πράγματα μαν.Μπραβο προχωρα κ δίδαξε
These two SO need an interviewer...
And a couple of mics.
Gus G behavior made me rock and roll in this video.I see him firstly.
You know they're good because they both played on Jason Becker's album.
xsited1 wow really?
Here 4 Chris!
i want Chris's guitar pick right now!!!
God of guitar metal
Chris really respected Marty, and I think without Shawn in the band he would have continued to play through the rough patches he experienced, I really hope Dave and Marty get back together for a celebration of sorts one day, not as a permanent member, just maybe play an anniversary show, would be so cool for Dave to get all of his guys back together for a singular shred show. shoutout to Al Pitrelli! where you at!
4:19 Gus just staring at Chris fretboard had me cracking up!!!
it's obvious that Chris is an insane guitar player hahaha
He must be thinking "Damn Chris doesn't have fret board markers?"
Chris, I am a big fan. Your first scale sounds like old Egyptian small called Hegaz.
Also switched from Active to Passive deliberately and I 100% agree with Chris' statements on that!
J love Broderick👍😁♥️
Two Gods!!!
very entertaining to see these cats first meeting- if this is what it is.
Both amazingly talented players.
Yes, I KNOW...
Broderick is incredibly intellectual about his playing; just amazes me.
Mic these guys Guitar World....so simple!!!!
does anyone know which megadeth song the lick is from that chris play at 3 minutes?
dos eminencias
I wonder if they're both thinking "Damn this guy's pretty good"
Rofl
I only realized who I'd been talking to years down the road.
well said remmy
Gus sounded better to me, by I could sense the awkwardness lmao
HELL YEAH!
Love the awkward silences 🤣
7:18 HUHUAHAHAHAHAHAUHAHAUHAUHAUHAUHAUHAUHA Most random/straight forward subject changing ever.
Chris's neo clasical bits near 4:40 = Glen Tipton circa Painkiller era.
just started watching this and had to stop and comment
on how smart chris is,in giving respect and praise to marty friedman.
i went to clash of the titans tour in the 90's,ive been a musician
for most of my life, marty friedman completely shredded that whole
show.
Where could i get boots , that Gus had here :D I really like them
what is that pick, chris brodrick is using in his finger called?
Whats the model of the guitar that guz g uses?
Check out Jeff Loomis people..
+Scrotum Leech am you check out david davidson....we already know who loomis is
+Rafael Tsahouridis Dave from revocation
ol' Bread haha yeah....every guitar world video he did: Hey its Dave From revocation
Shawn Lane.
Those two in the same band would be awesome
Chris runs this show! Clearly
Noise Gates must cost a fortune now, huh?
Prabably a fortin those cost a fortine ok i stop
Gus G is one of the nicest, observant and warm people I've met in the music world. Also a cat person as I am.
anyone know what the lick at 3:47 is from?
Are there any tabs for this?
Marty Friedman and Chris Broderick doing a video would be EPIC!
My kids (Not teens yet) love Gus G., Satriani, & Bettencourt! I think it’s the hair & the tone lol! For me it’s the style of playing, tone, & approach to rock guitar. I have to listen to some more Chris Broderick. I’ve only heard the ‘System has failed’ album with MEGADETH. I thought maybe Chris wasn’t allowed to be as creative with Dave, but I’m curious as to what he can do with his skills.
It was Chris Poland playing on The system has failed, not Chris Broderick. Poland was with Megadeth for their first 2 albums. Amazing guitarist and better than Broderick IMO.
Listen to Nevermore Broderick and Jeff Loomis. Absolutely mind numbing guitar work
I heard Chris Broderick play an acoustic piece when he was with Megadeath and he can play >>
Frank Kramer here on youtube there are videos if Chris playing classical guitar, he is awesome.
These guys are unreal
What is the Gus's Guitar?
Yup, real people playing real guitars. Real, unedited sound. I like.
