  • Even though the original song was mostly a chiptune, I'm still really proud of this one. This is my favorite tune from the game and I think this cover really turned out well. It wasn't really that easy, actually. The original song, despite being inspired by tunes from the C64, took some liberties in its limitations, including quite a few extra audio channels and layered, sampled drums. I had to downmix quite a few parts, and I had to pay close attention to the subtle effects placed on some instruments, such as all the vibratos and portamenti, to make sure I didn't lose too much. Overall, I think I did a decent job, but what do you all think? Let me know your thoughts down below!
    (Also, for those of you who are going to comment about a certain parody of this song, could you not? It's not funny. Thanks.)
    Original composer: Magnus Pålsson

    Wow, you actually made this work really well in 2A03! Using the triangle as accompaniment instead of bass kind of makes it sound like a Kirby song.

      Thank you! I usually try to avoid a triangle bass, as I feel it has a weak sound at lower pitches, and most of what I cover or compose has a pretty strong bass, so I try to make it work as accompaniment, even with its limitations.

    Breathtaking...! Always makes me happy to see folks using 2A03. I've never heard the Triangle sound so beautiful before! An incredible cover all around. Definitely gonna check out your other work~.

      Wow- Well, thank you!! ^^ Using the triangle for more than just bass or kicks has always been something I've enjoyed doing, so I'm glad you enjoyed the result of that! Also, means *a lot* for you to check out my other work ^^

    Sounds cool! You have the Famitracker file? I want to test it on NESmaker

      It's completely lost, sadly. The laptop I made this on got bricked and it wasn't backed up. I could probably remake it and do it better now but I am also very lazy :P

    It's good, but the tempo is just not right...

    • @TheTomatoWatcher
      @TheTomatoWatcher  Před 3 lety +8

      Yeah :/ With Famitracker the tempo control is very coarse, unless you want the notes to stutter a bunch. It has to do with how the NES processes its audio in frames, or something like that. This was the closest tempo I could pick without that stuttering effect.
