- So I wanted to see how accurately I could cover Pushing Onwards from VVVVVV, and this is the result.
Original song is by Magnus Pålsson, better known as SoulEye.
Tracked in Famitracker with the N163 expansion, using 5 channels, and the visuals are MIDITrail.

Only now have I found this, and only because CZcams threw it into the recommended page...
5 years later...
Well...better now than later.
Accurate as hell, I must say! It even has Positive Force done well too!
CFW Trick holy crap it really has been 5 years
@@n00bobliterator Now it is 7^^
Same but replace 5 with 8
@@infodeprived3119 I know right. CZcams slow
@@n00bobliterator A decade!
I kinda wonder now how difficult it would be to remake VVVVVV on the NES. Hmm..
It'd at LEAST play this song until 0:45
Playing the game, well that's another story.
pretty difficult if there was going to be minimal changes, due to sprite count and background rendering,
sub to me!
Gabriel Studios no
The Beaverhouse there’s actually a FULL Commodore 64 port you can play :P
they're in the colors of the characters
Oh shit, I'm sorry
It gets bigger when I pull it
MMMM-MMMMMMmmm
This is awesome! I love the visualisation, and yeah, the accuracy is pretty damn good! :)
Such a good remake! Can't believe it's already 10 yrs!
This is amazing. I have synesthesia and this is literally what music looks like to me! Great. So great.
While I did in fact convert it to a MIDI in order to play in MIDITrail, it doesn't really sound that great, it was just for visualization purposes. It's much easier to open the source .ftm in Famitracker to analyze it.
which is why a link has now been added to the description, just for you~
I am serious when I say this, but I just can't stop listening to this! It's SO damn accurate!
glad you liked it! =3
n00bobliterator Have you tried to recreate "Positive Force"?
I was actually thinking about recreating that and Pressure Cooker sometime in the future
I hope you do, that recreation was pretty good.
n00bobliterator Then you need to try Piercing the Sky. That is a good one.
Sweet. Glad this got recommended
My daddy taught me a few things too.
Would you show me?
It's pretty accurate, just missing some of the reverb effects and a few other things...
Very nicely done ! Discovered this just now, 7 years after ;)
Love how accurate this is! :D
I love these remake videos. Its also fun to just watch the program work
Incredible! This soundtrack is so good!
nice work. very accurate
AWESOME WORK!
This is amazing
Oh shit, I'm sorry.
Sorry for what?
Thanks, I'll definitely give it a try in the future!
Imagine booting up a Com. 64 game not expecting much and hearing THIS! VVVVVV would've been even more world changing if it was released back in the 80's
I can imagine an alternate universe now
This sounds better than the original!
Love it
it seems like the original! great job! :D
That was SUPER :-D Thanks for that :-D
Thanks for the feedback, your music is amazing! ^_^
holy shit it's actually a pretty good remake
But thanks for the feedback, I'm glad to see you liked it!
OMG THIS IS THE BEST!!!!
this is REALLY accurate. Wonderful job there!
thank you for the feedback
I like this. I wish i could like this twice
CAPTAIN VIRIDIAN! READY FOR ADVENTURE!
isn't that what sock puppets are for
i am bamboozled how you made this 8 minutes long
That's pretty cool, I didn't know that
I like it :3
perfect!
thank you!
Oh okay I get it. Thank you!
Also, I hope you don't mind if I continue to cover some of your other songs!
thought it was the real thing for a sec XD
I'm impressed I'm not easily impressed
I'm Impressed By Seeing You Impressed
Is there a midi file for this? Also, great job this is fantastic!
Awesome!
please do vvvvvv potential for anything please!!
This sounds Disturbingly similar to the original Good Job!
Cool! What would Mozart think!
すごい
almost indistiguishable
This presentation is outstanding. How did you make this?
famitracker + nsf2midi + miditrail
n00bobliterator Well dang. Wish more people did this!
Dayum accurrate.
You should try using SNES instruments to cover something, it'd be neat.
Seriously, though. Apart from some channel volume issues, I can't really tell any difference.
It's pretty good and accurate, the one nitpick i could point out is the drum sound is a lot more muffled.
That's Famitracker for you. It just can't emulate those nice C64 drums.
Oh shit I'm sorry.
Necrotic Sopor Sorry for what...?
Ewww brony alrert
Waffles Take your h8b8 elsewhere ty
Fun fact: Did you know that Famitracker was based off of the MadTracker 2 GUI, which Pushing Onwards was made in?
Huh. Didn't know that.
1 decade...
Thumbs up if you think this was DAMN ACCURATE
hellz yeah
sub to me!
Approximately how many hours did you spend making this?
MARIO_ MAYHEM1 I'd say about 5 assuming you take out all the bullshitting around in between
n00bobliterator Well it sure came out well for such a "small" project. Seriously, this is kickass, and I may even go on to say this may be better than the original.
MARIO_ MAYHEM1 thank you, I appreciate that!
n00bobliterator Not a problem, man. You did a good job.
c:
Its not accurate, you put more stuff in and made it better!
sub to me!
Gabriel Studios
Go piss up a flagpole.
Gabriel Studios
Thanks for showing you can sink to the levels of others. That's really something people look for when they sub. ;)
How to convert ftm file into mid file?
export as .nsf, use nifty program called "nsf2midi" to convert. it's kind of a crapshoot as to whether it'll properly convert, though
And the percussion and the (lack of) vibratos and the occasional guessed chord.
>Hey I think this kinda sounds like NES or something...
>"Tracked in Famitracker with the N163 expansion, using 5 channels, "
k
This MIDITrail thing seems pretty damn awesome. As is the accuracy, it's the best I've seen so far out of any port.
Thanks for the praise~
And yes, MIDITrail is pretty damn awesome
WHO DISLIKED THIS THEY SHALL BURN IN HELL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Chill.
The arpeggios in frame 0A are wrong.
also, the 'weird triangle' is just a square wave
Who's the one jerk who disliked this?
Weird Triangle lmao
tfw i fail to recognize a square wave when i run it through audacity
And yet there's Famitracker for you to use.
xracecar well yeah I did kinda make this with famitracker
Oh shit, I'm sorry
what for
n00bobliterator Our daddies told us not to be ashamed of our dicks. Especially since they're such good size and all.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm
ComradeRemus Yeah, I see that. Daddy gave you good advice!
Our daddy taught us not to be ashamed of our dicks
Especially since they're such a good size and wll
Oh shit, I'm sorry.
@@yol_n Sometimes I pull it so hard I rip the skin
Oh shit, I'm sorry
Sorry for what? Our daddy told us not to be ashamed of our dicks. 'Specially since they're such good sizes and all.
