The last 30 seconds, a must watch, an excellent example how a leader should be with his followers, if he is to have!

I always enjoy listening to Simon. He talks about things like Grace and empathy and compassion. While he’s not outwardly, a man of faith, at least not evident through his speaking, these principles of which he speaks are the tenants of Christianity. Whether you believe Jesus Christ was a messiah, a profit, or a man, he delivered a message over 2000 years ago, in the same manner that Simon delivers it today.

Grace and empathy are a gift implanted in people’s hearts. If you take this life average lifespan for a human being is 80 years in civilized countries. In most poorest countries that number is way too low. Some countries still have people riding animals for their destinations and when you look at their faces barely 35 -40 of age with no teeth and lead a very difficult lives. All we need is empathy and kindness on this Planet as life is very short.

Everyone makes mistakes. The problem becomes when you don't learn from those mistakes and you keep repeating them. That's when it comes down to humbling yourself by admitting that you don't know how to fix those mistakes and then asking for help. We're often taught that we have to handle everything on our own but that's not realistic. I ask for help when I'm stuck but I also give help if asked.

that scenario at the end works perfectly well if someone is underperforming for valid reasons. Sometimes people are lazy and take the mick and those people will abuse your good grace for a soft touch

I think everyone understands that, and such people are easier to spot as well.
What Simon is trying to emphasize is how we can effectively manage situations where that is not the case, which is harder and often not much spoken about.
And also, it's important to remember to assume to first scenario, rather than jumping to the second conclusion.

The Green Bay Packers hired a new defensive coordinator a few weeks ago. He told the tail of learning that after players seemed to mess up he needs to ask the question, "What did you see?", instead of starting with, "you messed up".
