The Coast of California [4K UHD] | Hearst San Simeon State Park | MacKerricher State Park

- 🏞 In this episode we explore the coast of California. We visit Hearst San Simeon State Park near the town of Cambria where we tour Hearst Castle, observe elephant seals resting on the beach, and explore many tide pools during low tide. From there, we head further north where we take in the views at MacKerricher State Park and Glass Beach near Fort Bragg.
⛺ We stayed in Washburn Campground at Hearst San Simeon State Park, and West Pinewood Campground at MacKerricher State Park. Washburn Campground is approximately 1 mile from the beach, located on a plateau overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountains. West Pinewood Campground is just a short walk to the Pacific along maintained trails, or there is parking right at a seal viewing area for those wishing to drive. Sites at each campground include a fire ring and picnic table, along with use of an RV dump and water fill station.

You cannot go wrong with a video that includes Elephant Seals! I loved every bit of this, from the Hearst Castle to the beach with all the sea glass. Crazy though that they used to just dump trash right beside the ocean. I also liked that we got a good view of RV life. Here's a business idea. Combination washing pod and ice cream maker. You're doing the cranking anyway. Might as well have something tasty, as a result of your efforts!

Thank you! This was filmed in April of 2023 on our way to Alaska. All of our California content was put on hold in order to get to the Alaska content more quickly, so we are just now circling back to share those videos. We appreciate you watching!
