Craters of the Moon | RVing Idaho | Inferno Cone, Indian Tunnel, Lava Flow Campground

In this episode we visit the spectacular Craters of the Moon National Monument.
🏞️This isn't the moon, but it might as well be! Craters of the Moon, nestled in the high desert of Idaho, is a 63-square-mile wonderland of frozen volcanic flows, cinder cones, and caves that whisper the secrets of ancient eruptions. Millions of years ago, when tectonic forces birthed the Great Rift, a colossal crack formed in the Earth's crust. Between 15,000 and 2,000 years ago, this rift roared to life, spewing forth eight major eruptions that painted the landscape with molten basalt. Imagine fiery fountains erupting, rivers of glowing lava carving through the plains, and cinder cones rising like chimneys spewing ash and smoke.

That was an incredible look at a place that holds some of the most unique landscape in the entire country!
I have to go back there. I went when I was a kid and I just didn't have the ability to appreciate such a phenomenal spot, when I was so young.
It was great to see you add another state to the Bigfoot map!
